Chapter 20

When you see a female classmate carrying two large thermos flasks in one hand, then swaggering around with her arm slung over a guy’s shoulder, acting like one of the bros, would you call that “Light Dance in the Breeze”?

When your own dorm room door is, from time to time, kicked open with complete innocence, followed by a loud shout, “Get up! Rehearsal! Where the hell are your stinky clothes and rotten socks?”—would you call that “Light Dance in the Breeze”?

When Harvey Howard tearfully complains to Samuel Wright that someone pulled down his pants, and it happened right in front of the whole class, and when Harvey Howard tries to fight back, he gets caught red-handed by the homeroom teacher Simon Howard. Would you think that female devil is “Light Dance in the Breeze”?

One day, when Samuel Wright went out for morning exercise, he saw with his own eyes that Ivy Howard got her pants caught while climbing over the wall, and was left hanging there on the wall. In that moment, his dream was utterly shattered—completely and utterly!

That girl who once inspired endless imagination, as pure as a lotus, had disappeared long ago. Maybe she never existed at all—maybe she just wasn’t familiar with you back then. The one left now is definitely a tough girl who could run a horse on her fist!

There was once a time when everyone got drunk, and even Jason Lane had a sudden change of heart, crying to Samuel Wright about how he’d let his brother down in the past. Samuel Wright was screaming in his heart, Ivy Howard, your fighting power is just too strong...

All of this just goes to show that Samuel Wright can’t judge people—at least, he can’t judge actors. So, this key female lead has to be recast, which means the production cost of this movie will probably go up. So, better save up more manuscript fees first.

Ethan is about to make it big. Samuel Wright told the guys in 307 about it, and they were all really happy. What made them even happier was that Samuel Wright was treating them to dinner. The duck at Quanjude was really good, just a bit too expensive, but this time they finally got the chance.

So, the next day, the eight wolves of 307 gathered at Quanjude, just waiting for the guest of honor, Ethan Brooks...

Time ticked by, minute by minute.

“Sam, have you checked on Ethan yet?” Henry Watson, ever since he arrived in this private room at Quanjude, had already drunk four pots of tea and several pots of plain water.

At first, everyone was drinking tea, but pot after pot, even the “nouveau riche” Samuel Wright was starting to feel the pinch—this stuff costs money, after all.

“Yeah, Sam, not to jinx it, but could something have happened to Ethan?” Harvey Howard couldn’t hold it in anymore. He was young, but he’d already made two trips to the bathroom. If they kept drinking like this...

Samuel Wright was a bit worried too. They’d actually arrived pretty late—got there at 6, and now it was already 8. Could something have happened?

“Alright, I’ll call and check.” Samuel Wright had to ask the restaurant for a phone and called Ethan Brooks’s beeper.

Once, twice, three times... Samuel Wright left message after message, and another hour passed. It was almost 10 o’clock!

Did something really happen?

Chapter 012: We Make Our Own Movie

“Hey, have you seen Ethan?”

“Hey, did you see Ethan come back to school?”...

The guys from 307 had already left the restaurant. They were taking turns at a public phone booth, using all their connections to ask about Ethan Brooks’s whereabouts.

After a few calls, Harvey Howard said, “It seems like Ethan came back to school, but no one’s seen exactly where he is. He still hasn’t shown up. This...”

Harvey Howard was afraid he’d really jinxed it, but Samuel Wright didn’t think it was that serious. After all, he was someone who’d been reborn—he knew how Ethan Brooks would turn out in the future.

“Let’s go back and look for him! For now, let’s just grab a few hamburgers to fill our stomachs...”

Before Samuel Wright could finish, everyone sprang into action.

“At a time like this, who cares about that? Let’s go, we need to find him!” It seemed the guys thought things were pretty serious.

What are we waiting for? Let’s go!

Samuel Wright hailed two taxis and headed back to school. Then the eight of them started searching in a flurry.

“Have you seen Ethan?”

“Seen a guy with uneven eyebrows?”

“Is Ethan here with you?”... Basically, they asked everyone they met. Some, either clueless or up to no good, even tried asking in the girls’ dorm, only to get a beating for their trouble.

You have to admit, this way of looking for someone was old-fashioned, but in the end, it worked—Samuel Wright and the others really did find Ethan Brooks!

It was at a construction site. The film academy had been developing well in recent years, so the school had built a new movie screening building—basically a cinema. It was almost finished, and there weren’t many workers around. Ethan Brooks was on the roof of the cinema.

On the ground was a nearly empty bottle of Erguotou. Luckily, it was a small bottle, but seeing Ethan Brooks’s state, the guys from 307 were still worried.

His clothes were a bit disheveled, the collar clearly torn, and there were tear stains on his face, obviously dried by the wind. He was standing at the edge of the rooftop, facing the wind, swaying a little, making it look like he might fall off at any moment.

“Ethan?” Someone called out recklessly.
