Chapter 11

Why is that? There are actually quite a few girls in the whole school who have been randomly dubbed department beauties, class beauties, or even campus beauties, but Emily Walker is the only one who’s been crowned the “Party Beauty,” standing above all the rest. She joined the Party as a freshman, became student council president in her sophomore year—what kind of person is that? She’s the object of countless lonely nights of fantasy for the guys, while I’ve spent four years here without a single decent girl giving me the time of day. But today, the Party Beauty is blooming just for me—how could I not be so excited I can barely control myself!?

Just thinking about it made my whole body start to fidget—biting my finger, staring blankly, checking myself in the mirror, feeling so antsy I didn’t know where to put my hands or how to stand. In just a few seconds, Chad Bennett had worked himself up so much that drool was glistening on his thick lips.

“Hey... hey...” After a few calls, Victor Smith waved his hand in front of Chad Bennett’s dazed eyes. When the guy didn’t respond, he just lightly slapped him a few times. It took a while for Chad Bennett to snap out of it, but he didn’t mind at all—he just grinned contentedly, rubbing his chubby cheeks, and with a goofy, dim-witted look, asked Victor Smith, “What’s up, bro? Why are you touching me? Do you also think I’m the most handsome guy in our class?”

That smugness—just like the satisfaction after a solo session—he hummed with pleasure. Victor Smith laughed and asked, “Yeah, you’re so handsome I’m about to wet my underwear. Don’t tell me you can get off just by looking at Emily Walker? Is she even someone you can fantasize about?”

“What’s wrong with that? The boss said, no matter how badass a woman is, she still has to moan under a man.” Chad Bennett raised an eyebrow and shot back, pushing the unimpressed Victor Smith aside.

Victor Smith was a bit stunned and didn’t dare argue further. The three of them never agreed on this topic—one was pure, one was heartless, one was a player, each with their own take. Chad Bennett kept going, and soon he was standing in front of the mirror, admiring himself, rubbing his cheeks, and asking, “Bro, Emily Walker really did say I was handsome just now, right? Did you hear her clearly? That’s what she said, right? I think I really have gotten more handsome lately... No, not just a little, a lot! Maybe there are tons of girls at school secretly in love with me, just waiting for a chance to confess! Do you think my other half is Emily Walker?”

“Haha... I’m telling you, Bennett, if you keep your mouth shut, people might just think you’re an idiot. But as soon as you open it, they’ll know you’re brain-dead.” On the bed, Victor Smith was laughing so hard he was shaking, pointing at the hopelessly narcissistic and ugly Chad Bennett: “And seriously, Bennett, can you please stop saying random stuff? I’m scared of what’ll come out of your mouth next. Is it really okay to brag about being a foodie and a perv in public?”

Without turning around, Chad Bennett shot back, “Don’t be so salty. The boss said it: being a perv is pleasing to the eye, being a foodie is good for the stomach, being lazy is good for the body. What’s so shameful about the three virtues of a man? No wonder you look like you’re from the old society—you don’t have any of them! You should learn from our boss—he’s a master at eating, drinking, and having fun.”

Oh man... Victor Smith slapped his own mouth, realizing he’d broken his own rule about not arguing with Brother Chad. If you lower your IQ to Brother Chad’s level, you’ll never win an argument. No wonder Director Harris, Director Walker, and the homeroom teacher always turn and walk away. Thinking of this, he fell silent, lying on his pillow and flipping through a book absentmindedly.

Chad Bennett did have his good points—if you didn’t argue with him, he wouldn’t argue with you. Not only that, he’d be perfectly content, daydreaming about the pretty league secretary for a while, then sitting on the bed, digging out his MP5 from under the pillow, putting on headphones to watch something. Victor Smith snickered, guessing the guy was about to relieve himself with some “art films”—a happy life solved by his own two hands!

But before he could enjoy his happiness, the phone rang. Chad Bennett, already restless, answered, and from the excitement on his face, Victor Smith knew it was a call from their dorm leader. After a few words, he hung up, and Chad Bennett immediately stopped admiring himself, pulled up his pants, grabbed Victor Smith, and said, “Let’s go, the boss is almost down the mountain. We’re supposed to meet him at the intersection. This time we’re going big—I’m bringing my dad’s car... we’ll haul a whole load back.”

This was the fishing and turtle-catching trip they’d planned. The boss had even skipped class for two days to prepare. In college, nothing but class is boring—everything else is exciting. Even Victor Smith was pumped, changed into sneakers, and the two of them locked the dorm and headed downstairs, out of the campus...

Chapter 05: Brothers Have More Fun Together

Students who excel in both character and academics at school may not necessarily retain that sense of superiority once they step outside the campus.

On the other hand, those who seem like fools at school aren’t necessarily fools everywhere.

This saying fits both Victor Smith and Chad Bennett perfectly. As far as Victor Smith knew, Bennett’s family background was better than most of their classmates—not just a little better, either. Otherwise, with Brother Chad’s level of intelligence, there’s no way he’d have made it to his senior year of college. He might seem dumb, but he never fails his exams. And don’t look down on him—outside the school gates, he’s more useful than ten smart guys put together.

See, he got the car from his dad’s city management office, then Victor Smith saw him go to the Hero Platform market to find his mom—probably scammed a few hundred yuan in pocket money from her under the pretense of school fees. Then he bought a big bag of drinks and snacks, and they officially hit the road.
