Chapter 1

Whitney Cave is reputed as the number one immortal paradise of the righteous path. Those who emerge from Whitney Cave all experience a great increase in power, and within ten years, they can ascend to immortality.

As the lord of the number one demonic sect, Stonewall, and one of the three sages of the demonic path, Grant Benson, just as he was about to ascend, was struck by a sudden whim to visit his old neighbor, the number one righteous sect he had never met: Waverly Sword Sect. Unexpectedly, he fell into Whitney Cave, and Grant Benson's skeletal frame actually grew flesh and skin within Whitney Cave!

His nearly perfected Jade Seed Grand Technique was sealed within his bones by the new flesh, and with no other choice, he had to join Waverly Sword Sect as the lowest-ranking disciple: a servant.

How others treat me, is how I treat others—this is Grant Benson's guiding principle.

Chapter 001 Waverly Sword SectStonewall

Golden light burst forth, and purple energy came from the east. In the Eight-Thousand-Mile Ten-Thousand-Fathom Mountains, atop the three-thousand-zhang Yan Yu Peak, hundreds of streaks of light shot up in an instant. These streaks, like meteors, sped toward the newborn morning sun, then suddenly halted midair. Only then could one see clearly: these beams were not meteors, but hundreds of immortals, each standing atop a long sword, their long beards fluttering in the wind. Facing that cluster of purple energy, the immortals inhaled and exhaled in unison, drawing in threads of purple energy as fine as hair into their abdomens. In no time, the golden sun rose from the mountains, and the cluster of purple energy quickly dissipated, leaving no trace. The immortals then turned into streaks of light and descended the peak.

Yan Yu Peak is the foremost among the twelve top-grade blessed lands of the thirty-six righteous paradises. Atop the peak sits Waverly Sword Sect, the number one sect of the righteous path. It is not the largest sect only because its standards for accepting disciples are extremely strict, resulting in a sparse membership. However, every disciple of Waverly Sword Sect is a master of cultivation, making the sect's overall strength second to none among the righteous.

The fundamental technique of Waverly Sword Sect is "Swallowing and Exhaling Heaven and Earth," which focuses on absorbing the spiritual energy of heaven and earth to temper the body. The purple energy before sunrise is especially valued by Waverly Sword Sect for its great benefit to cultivation. Thus, even those elders with profound cultivation must ascend on their swords every morning to absorb the purple energy. Only disciples with a certain level of cultivation can perform this sword-riding ascent; new and prospective disciples can only rise early, climb to the summit of Yan Yu Peak, and sit cross-legged at the top to absorb the purple energy.

Waverly Sword Sect enforces strict rules, testing the sincerity of disciples by requiring three years of hard labor before they can be formally admitted. Only after passing this can they be assigned a master and go to the Preaching Cliff behind Yan Yu Peak to choose their cultivation method according to their fate.

The Eight-Thousand-Mile Ten-Thousand-Fathom Mountains are full of hidden talents. Just three thousand li southeast of Yan Yu Peak, atop the Deadly Cliff, stands the number one demonic sect: "Stonewall". Alongside Stonewall, the other two great demonic sects are the Half-Human Sect of Blackwater River and the Soul-Suppressing Stronghold of Fallen Mountain.

As the golden crow sets in the west and the jade rabbit rises in the east, Yan Yu Peak falls into silence, while Stonewall begins a night of revelry. Skeletons emerge from the ground, countless black souls drift in from all directions, and the entire Stonewall is bustling and lively! The prosperity of Stonewall is due in no small part to its lord, Grant Benson.

After the previous lord was utterly destroyed by the final Five-Thunder Divine Fire during his tribulation, Stonewall fell into chaos. It was then that the current lord, Grant Benson, rose to power. First, he used underhanded means to eliminate the equally cunning Harvey Clark, removing his first rival. Next, he openly challenged his second opponent, the equally upright "Twin Rings of Ice and Fire" Lucas Sullivan. The two fought for three days and nights in the bottomless abyss beneath Deadly Cliff. The demonic cultivators watching from above saw only dazzling flashes and constant explosions from the abyss. In the end, Grant Benson used a segment of his left big toe bone to knock away Lucas Sullivan's twin rings, winning the duel. However, Grant Benson was left with a limp, as he lost a piece of his toe bone.

Under Grant Benson's diligent management, Stonewall surpassed Soul-Suppressing Stronghold within three years to become the number one demonic sect. He himself surpassed the leader of the Half-Human Sect, the half-human, half-ghost King of Ghosts Gavin Benson, becoming the top master of the demonic path!

For bringing such prosperity to Stonewall, Grant Benson enjoys a stellar reputation within Stonewall and throughout the demonic path. He has always advocated that even demons have their own code: how others treat me, is how I treat them. This is evident from how he seized control of Stonewall: using cunning against the crafty Harvey Clark, and upright methods against the honorable Twin Rings of Ice and Fire.

Grant Benson, with his skeletal body, has cultivated the "Jade Seed Grand Technique" to perfection. His entire skeleton emits a crystalline white glow. Once his bones are further transformed into jade, he will truly reach the Great Ascension stage, able to transcend into immortality, ascend to the heavens, and join the ranks of the immortals, leaving behind the mundane world.

Waverly Sword Sect and Stonewall, as representatives of the righteous and demonic paths, are like the positive and negative poles of the cultivation world. Though both are concentrated in the same mountain range, they have coexisted peacefully for hundreds of years. As the saying goes, "Those whose paths differ cannot work together." Waverly Sword Sect and Stonewall have always kept their boundaries clear, never interfering with each other.
