Chapter 16

Blazing fire condensed into a gigantic palm print, which slammed fiercely toward Sophie Hill.

Ryan Bennett and Michael Bolton both broke out in a cold sweat—if Sophie Hill died, the two of them would surely not escape Green's deadly hands either!

Facing Green's all-out strike, Sophie Hill's beautiful eyes remained utterly calm. She spread her snow-white fingers, and an immensely powerful force surged forth!

"Boom!"

Incredibly, the blazing palm strike from the Red Wolf at full power was actually dispersed effortlessly by Sophie Hill with a single casual motion!

"This... this is impossible!"

Red Wolf Green clenched his fists tightly, letting out a hoarse, furious roar, and leapt like a tiger at Sophie Hill, launching a second attack with overwhelming momentum.

Sophie Hill closed her eyes, and in the next instant, her beautiful eyes snapped open!

Red Wolf was immobilized, completely at her mercy!

Pressure!

This young woman had actually used the legendary pressure technique, an aura attack that only a powerhouse of at least Earth Level 7 could unleash!

A cold gleam flashed, and the heavy body of Red Wolf crashed to the ground with a thud—his head was already in the girl's hand.

Sophie Hill cast a faint glance at Ryan Bennett, then turned around, her robes fluttering, her whole figure like a phantom, drifting away into the bamboo forest!

……

"Young master, young master! Are you alright?"

The two servants, Lucky and Richie, finally snapped out of it and rushed to Ryan Bennett's side with concern.

Ryan Bennett shook his head, hoisted Michael Bolton onto his back, and staggered home.

Nighttime, in the main hall of the Ye family.

Nathan Bennett sat upright and dignified, while Peter Bennett bowed slightly and said, "Big brother, the Seven Overlords of Liang City are dead."

"Dead?" Nathan Bennett was slightly surprised.

"Yes, Paul Thompson had advanced to Earth Level 3, but still died. In this matter, William and one of his friends were also involved and suffered some injuries. William even fought with Red Wolf Green!"

"What? That rascal William actually dared to challenge Red Wolf?" Nathan Bennett suddenly stood up.

Peter Bennett smiled faintly. "No need to worry. Didn't he already return safe and sound?"

"Red Wolf let William go?"

"No, Red Wolf is dead."

"What, how did Red Wolf die?" Nathan Bennett was utterly shocked. "With his strength, there are no more than five people in all of Liang City who could kill him!"

Peter Bennett nodded. "That's right, but Red Wolf is still dead. The one who killed him was a beautiful young woman no older than twenty—Sophie Hill!"

"Sophie Hill?"

Nathan Bennett took a deep breath. "She—is she the legendary genius girl of Qingyou Sect, Sophie Hill?"

"Yes!"

"It seems something major is about to happen in Liang City! By the way, how is William's progress in weapon forging?"

"Haha, William is exceptionally talented and advancing rapidly. I estimate that in less than half a year, he'll be able to forge a grade-nine weapon on his own!"

"Ha! William truly hasn't let me down!" Nathan Bennett laughed heartily.

……

In a side room, Michael Bolton lay quietly on the bed, healing himself with his internal energy.

In the next room, Ryan Bennett sat cross-legged on the bed, silently practicing the Fire God Remnant Scroll martial technique over and over. Flames swirled around his body, making him appear incomparably peaceful, serene, and composed.

His perception extended outward, and Ryan Bennett could almost sense everything happening around him: Michael Bolton's breathing as he cultivated, the whispered secrets of the two concubines in the side room—everything was within his grasp.

Suddenly, as his perception reached the ancestral hall's backyard, Ryan Bennett abruptly felt a dizzying sensation, as if something there was resisting his senses!

Could it be... the divine artifact battle axe, Yaoyang?

Unlikely. Yaoyang's attributes had already harmonized perfectly with Ryan Bennett; it shouldn't be repelling him!

Then what else could it be?

He stepped outside. The night was tranquil.

Ryan Bennett took his sword and walked to the ancestral hall's backyard, faintly sensing a weak force pulsing there, like a heartbeat—only much fainter.

He was secretly amazed. Behind the ancestral hall was a patch of woodland, sparsely dotted with stone tablets—the Ye family ancestral graves.

Vaguely, a spot flickered with a faint flame, as if a voice was calling to Ryan Bennett from deep within his heart: "Young man, come!"

A shiver ran through him. Ryan Bennett frowned—this feeling was too real!

Taking out an iron shovel, Ryan Bennett began digging into the ground. Using Fire God true energy, he didn't feel tired at all, and dug at an astonishing speed. In less than half an hour, a five-meter-deep pit had already formed.

As he dug, Ryan Bennett couldn't help but mock himself—he'd only just transmigrated here a few days ago, and now he was digging up his own ancestral grave. He really was a thoroughly unfilial descendant!

"Ding!"

A crisp sound rang out—the shovel had struck metal!

Ryan Bennett quickly crouched down and brushed the dirt aside. Faintly, he could make out the pattern of a green dragon. Digging a few more feet, the object's true form was revealed: a large cauldron about a meter tall—or perhaps more accurately, a furnace. Eight lifelike green dragons coiled around its body, as if alive, and a faint dragon's roar could be heard.

"I've found a treasure!"

That was Ryan Bennett's first thought. He saw that the lid atop the cauldron was trembling slightly, with five yellow talisman papers on it, inscribed with obscure ancient runes—seemingly oracle bone script. They appeared to be sealing strips. Just what was sealed inside this cauldron?
