Chapter 8

David Benson's wife knew that her husband could never eat alone, so every time she made enough food for seven or eight people.

This food expense, accumulated over the years, was quite a burden for an ordinary agent's family, but Little Mark had never seen his mother complain.

Mark Benson placed the lunchbox filled with dumplings on the table and obediently handed a pair of chopsticks to each of the agents.

This group of agents had already been busy for more than ten hours, hardly eating anything. The moment they smelled the delicious aroma of dumplings, someone couldn't resist, grabbed a pair of chopsticks, picked up a dumpling, and swallowed it in one bite, not forgetting to praise, "Sister-in-law's cooking is really good."

David Benson also showed a slight smile and scolded jokingly, "Eat your food!"

He didn't use chopsticks either, grabbed one with his bare hand and tossed it into his mouth, biting into the juicy meat filling, and couldn't help but exclaim in satisfaction, "Food made by my wife is still the best."

The roomful of agents scrambled for the food, and in just a few minutes, the entire lunchbox of dumplings was gone. The agents who had eaten wiped the oil from their mouths and immediately went back to studying the case.

Mark Benson collected the lunchbox, threw the disposable chopsticks into the office trash can, emptied the ashtrays on the table, swept the floor, and then grinned as he said goodbye to his father before turning and leaving the office.

A young agent said enviously, "Little Mark is really great. Brother Benson is so lucky to have such a son. I heard Little Mark is about to take the college entrance exam. I wonder which university he's planning to apply to?"

Speaking of his son, David Benson couldn't help but smile and said, "His martial arts scores are excellent, and his academic subjects aren't bad either. Getting into a top university shouldn't be a problem. Which one he applies to is up to him; I can't be bothered to ask. Enough about that kid. What exactly is Black Moon doing here in our Boyang City?"

"Our Boyang City doesn't really have anything that would attract the attention of a Black Knight of that level."

The group of agents all racked their brains, puzzled and confused.

Mark Benson carried the lunchbox and left the City Public Security Bureau. When he was almost home, he suddenly felt a chilling sense of danger, as if his hair was standing on end.

The Tianwu System popped up directly in his eyes, and on the pale blue light screen, there was a very conspicuous alert: Unknown creature detected, emitting strong killing intent toward the host. Please do not hold back when taking action.

"Someone's targeting me?"

Mark Benson wasn't afraid. Although, in name, Little Mark was a level-two martial artist, in reality...

Heh!

Mark Benson believed that even in the City Public Security Bureau, there weren't many who could take him on.

At least his sworn sister Vera Clark...

Alright!

Although Little Mark's Daqian Evolution Technique was profound, in actual combat, he might really not be able to beat his sworn sister.

"The stalker's martial arts seem pretty mediocre!"

"Do they think I'm just a kid, so they don't bother to hide?"

Mark Benson was so familiar with the roads near his home that he could walk them with his eyes closed. Without showing any sign, he circled into a dead-end alley, put down the lunchbox, clenched his right fist with his left hand, making a slight cracking sound from his knuckles, smiled slightly, and shouted, "Come out!"

A short, rather skinny man flashed into view at the entrance of the alley, sneered coldly, and said, "For a student to have your level of vigilance is impressive, but you should remember, the adult world is far more ruthless than you imagine."

The skinny man's movement was light as if his feet didn't touch the ground, and he moved extremely fast, pressing straight toward Mark Benson's shoulder.

If he managed to land the blow, with the inner force hidden in his palm, Mark Benson's tendons and bones would be shattered.

Dark Star felt a cruel pleasure in his heart.

He didn't know who Mark Benson was; he just saw this tall teenager coming out of the City Public Security Bureau and figured he must be connected to the detectives, so he thought killing him on a whim would surely make those annoying dog agents miserable for a while.

Dark Star was originally a licensed martial artist, but because of his violent temper, he killed his company's supervisor, went on the run, and joined the Green Dragon Society!

This time, Green Dragon Society and the Five Great Families were planning a big deal, and they chose this small city as the transaction site because the detective force was weak.

The one sent by Green Dragon Society to oversee the deal, Sirius Black Moon, didn't intend to cause any extra trouble, but Dark Star always felt that unless he killed a few people, how could he quickly make a name for himself?

Black Knight lacked legitimate ways to become famous, so most of them had a pathological obsession with their reputation in the underworld.

As a martial artist, judging whether an opponent intends to kill you or show mercy is a basic skill.

Mark Benson was slightly surprised and thought to himself, "Just as the Tianwu System warned, this guy really wants to kill me. To have such a sudden urge to kill for no reason, he must be a Black Knight. I absolutely can't let my guard down—I have to go all out."

Facing Dark Star's killer move, Little Mark deliberately shrugged his shoulder, making a dodging gesture.

Dark Star flipped his palm and launched a combo attack.

This kind of follow-up move is usually used after breaking through an enemy's defense, a casual pursuit, but because of the mid-move change, its power is generally lacking.
