Chapter 11

Liam Grant said, “I want to kill the other two with my own hands. That means my mission begins right now. Once I take this step, I’ll be a man of the Black Dragon Platform, and my life will be filled with blood and storms.”

“Very well.” The Black Dragon Platform expert handed over a knife.

Liam Grant gripped the knife and slowly walked toward Brian Wood.

The military officer Brian Wood looked at the Black Dragon Platform expert and rasped, “Sir, is there really no way for me to survive?”

The Black Dragon Platform expert remained motionless.

Brian Wood’s eyes turned bloodshot. He said, “Forgive me, but to survive, I have no other choice.”

Then, he suddenly raised his fist and swung it fiercely at Liam Grant, unwilling to sit and wait for death.

“Whoosh…” Liam Grant’s blade flashed like lightning, and Brian Wood’s head soared into the air.

He, a mere scholar, actually knew martial arts—and at a high level, even higher than Brian Wood when his meridians weren’t sealed. He’d hidden it well.

“Forgive me for the display, sir.” Liam Grant bowed and said, “Actually, I’ve always practiced martial arts, but sometimes… it’s best to keep a few things to oneself.”

The Black Dragon Platform expert said, “Not bad, not bad.”

Gavin Clark said, “Liu Jifen is a good person. Why did you expose her?”

The Black Dragon Platform expert and Liam Grant exchanged another glance, completely unable to understand what Gavin Clark was talking about.

Then, Liam Grant drew his blade again and slowly walked toward Gavin Clark.

“Gavin Clark, you’re nothing but a bug, not even worthy of me killing you myself. But since fate brought us together today, do you have any last words before you die?” Liam Grant asked.

Gavin Clark thought for a moment, then said seriously, “Brother Liam Grant, you can go in peace. From now on, your son will be my son, your woman will be my woman. As long as I draw breath, I won’t let her spend her nights alone.”

Hearing this, Liam Grant was furious and sneered, “Still spouting nonsense at death’s door? Die!”

Then, his sharp blade slashed fiercely at Gavin Clark, slicing open his belly.

“Whoosh…” Yet in the next second, Liam Grant suddenly felt a chill in his chest. Looking down, he saw his chest had been pierced through.

The Black Dragon Platform expert had silently stabbed through Liam Grant’s heart.

“Damn, why…” Liam Grant didn’t finish his sentence before collapsing to the ground, dead with his eyes wide open.

At that moment, Gavin Clark only felt a chill—Liam Grant’s blade was less than half an inch from his vital spot.

A few seconds later, he couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

“Is it really that funny?” the Black Dragon Platform expert asked.

Gavin Clark said, “I don’t know why, but I just remembered something from my childhood.”

The Black Dragon Platform expert asked, “What was it?”

“You wouldn’t understand even if I told you,” Gavin Clark said. “It was a very minor circumcision surgery.”

Immediately, the Black Dragon Platform expert’s face twitched. He said coldly, “Gavin Clark, are you really not afraid of death?”

As he said this, he truly couldn’t help wanting to slap Gavin Clark to death.

“Afraid of death, scared to death,” Gavin Clark sighed. “But for some reason, the more afraid I am, the more I can’t help but provoke death. When I see a sharp blade, I want to run my finger along it to see just how sharp it is; standing at the edge of a cliff, I can’t help but want to jump; in the freezing cold, when I see cold iron, I can’t help but want to lick it with my tongue.”

“You really are a madman…” the Black Dragon Platform expert said. “You win. You answered all three questions correctly. You can go to Gale City to carry out the mission.”

“Alright,” Gavin Clark said.

The Black Dragon Platform expert said, “You don’t seem surprised at all. Do you know why you were able to win?”

Gavin Clark said, “Previously, the Black Dragon Platform sent more than a dozen people to carry out this mission, and all of them died horribly. So this mission is basically dancing on the scythe of death. In a place like that, only two kinds of people can survive: madmen and perverts. So I’m the perfect fit.”

The Black Dragon Platform expert said, “But you’re not loyal to the Black Dragon Platform, nor to the Empire. You could betray us at any time. What use are you to me?”

Gavin Clark said, “I haven’t eaten a single meal from the Black Dragon Platform. If I say I’m loyal to you, would you believe me? When it comes to loyalty, I’m still a blank sheet of paper. Whatever you draw on it is up to you. I’m just a mirror—if you give me flowers, I’ll reflect flowers; if you’re a devil, I’ll reflect a devil.”

As he said this, Gavin Clark was not joking; his attitude was serious and solemn.

He made a lot of sense. Carrying out an undercover mission in Gale City meant dancing on the edge of a blade at every moment. Only madmen and perverts could truly enjoy it. And Gavin Clark seemed to relish the thrill of dancing with death, so he should be able to handle it with ease.

As for the other two, whether it was Brian Wood or Liam Grant, they both seemed outstanding—one in civil, one in martial arts—but in reality, they were completely unprepared. If they rashly infiltrated Gale City, they’d be dead within half a month.

Gavin Clark had no sense of loyalty, but winning someone’s loyalty was exactly what the Black Dragon Platform excelled at. They didn’t use money, nor even fear, but sacrifice to earn your loyalty.

Sacrifice, one after another!

After hearing Gavin Clark’s words, the Black Dragon Platform expert was silent for a moment, then waved his hand.
