Chapter 14

""Demon Maru"" is the protagonist in Eric Foster's own comic—a male infant exuding overwhelming ferocity, born with an innate, powerful grudge.

Frankly speaking, when it comes to character development, horror atmosphere, and plot excitement, no one else in the studio can really compare to him. In fact, ""Demon Maru"" is the most extreme of all the comics produced by the studio.

Accordingly, the character Demon Maru is also the most terrifying among these seven demon kings.

But no matter what, Demon Maru is, after all, a character he personally drew.

The six people present, although he had continued their stories with a few chapters during those three years, were still telling other people's stories, using other people's characters.

Only Demon Maru is his own.

For creators, their works often feel like their own children. To say Demon Maru is Eric Foster's son is really not an exaggeration at all.

If Demon Maru were here, Eric Foster would feel much more at ease.

It's like an ancient general going to war—if you don't have your own trusted men under your command, can you really feel secure?

However,

This question made Olivia Green a bit embarrassed, as if she didn't know how to answer.

Beside her, Mason, who was sitting there, stood up, left his seat, and went into a room. Soon, he came back holding a box.

He placed the box on the table in front of Eric Foster, and said coldly,

""He is inside.""

""Hmm?""

Eric Foster reached out in surprise and opened the box.

At first, Eric Foster thought something had happened to Demon Maru, and that the box contained his head. Since he was an infant, although the box was a bit small, it seemed big enough to hold his head.

But when he opened the box,

He found that inside was just a black stone.

""This is... Demon Maru?""

Olivia Green glanced at the stone in the box with a hint of jealousy and said,

""Master, he said he has no physical body, doesn't need to eat or drink, so he doesn't need to work. He just sealed himself inside this stone.""

Chapter Six: The Blood Clan

From after dinner until nightfall, Eric Foster stayed alone in his room, with that box placed on the dressing table in front of him.

Demon Maru was sealed inside.

But, rather embarrassingly, even though he was now awake, even though he was sitting right in front of him, Demon Maru still didn't show himself.

Actually, Eric Foster should have expected this attitude long ago.

Their real attitude was probably similar to that of the vampire Mason, because he was too proud—so proud that he disdained to pretend.

And as for himself, what did he really mean to them?

At this point, even his own character, Demon Maru, looked down on him.

Still, he really did have to thank them. If he had come to this world alone, even if he hadn't fallen unconscious, he probably wouldn't have survived for long.

Although these demon kings had lost their powers, they could still manage to get by in this unfamiliar world, and he was benefiting from their presence.

In the afternoon, the inn started to open for business, and guests began to arrive one after another. As night fell, the noise from the front hall grew louder and louder.

Business was booming, which was great.

But Eric Foster had no interest in going out to take a look. He had just woken up and was facing this new situation. He needed some quiet time, to sit alone and not think too much. Just sitting there in silence felt pretty good.

""Creak...""

The door to the room was pushed open.

Eric Foster turned his head to look. The girl who had been wiping his body when he first woke up entered. He remembered Olivia Green had called her Cloud Girl.

Cloud Girl brought in a meal and placed it in front of Eric Foster.

""Mom said, Master... Master, you need some quiet time alone, so she didn't want to disturb you by having you eat in the front.""

Eric Foster nodded at her words.

He still needed to eat.

Especially after seeing a vampire and a zombie eating today, he felt he had a deeper understanding of the saying ""man is iron, rice is steel.""

Just as Eric Foster picked up his chopsticks to eat, he suddenly heard a rustling sound.

Looking up,

He was stunned.

Cloud Girl was actually taking off her own clothes.

""What are you doing?""

Cloud Girl bit her lip, her pretty face blushing, and with a hint of tears in her voice, said,

""Mom said, from today on, I should serve you in bed.""

Eric Foster smiled and shook his head, waving his hand, ""No need, put your clothes back on.""

It wasn't that Eric Foster was some ascetic or wanted to be a saint. Although he had never really dated in his previous life, he wasn't some clueless rookie either.

If you wanted to find a club, it was like squeezing water from a sponge—if you tried, you could always find one.

It was just that as his health deteriorated, he hadn't done that sort of thing for quite a while, nor had the energy to think about it.

Although after waking up, he found his physical condition had greatly improved, he still had no thoughts about this little girl.

She was too young—it would be too beastly!
