Chapter 15

All sorts of things danced in the sky, and that person was controlling them, arranging a marvelous pattern above the mountain peak.

Strands of hazy blue light surged continuously from that person’s rolling palms, merging into the mysterious pattern. With each push from the light, the pattern slowly began to rotate.

After releasing all the materials, the person seemed to relax a bit. His hands never stopped, beams of light shooting into the pattern, yet he turned his face and smiled at Henry Stone.

Henry Stone stared dazedly at the vast and mighty pattern in the sky. The person smiled inwardly: Of course, he’s never seen immortal arts before. So many enormous materials flying out of a small jade box—no wonder he looks so bewildered.

“Little friend.” William Godwin called out to him, and Henry Stone snapped back to his senses.

William Godwin casually asked, “Little friend, what do you feel?”

Henry Stone frowned, a bit uncertain, and pointed to a spot in the sky: “Those few stones, it seems they should rotate in this direction next…”

William Godwin was greatly surprised; he hadn’t expected Henry Stone to be deducing the formation!

This Azure Dragon Ten-Guard Formation was one of the most profound and complex defensive formations in the cultivation world. Even his chief disciple, Edward Barton, ranked among the top ten young talents in the cultivation world, found the Azure Dragon Ten-Guard Formation quite perplexing. At first, he taught him seven simplified versions of the formation to help him build a foundation through practice.

Then William Godwin spent a full three months explaining the principles of the formation’s evolution and operation, yet his disciple still couldn’t fully grasp it. But this village youth, who knew nothing about formations, could deduce the next step in the formation’s operation just by watching him set it up—this truly astonished William Godwin.

He couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret: If tonight succeeds and he manages to cultivate his Yang Spirit, he’ll have to immediately go into seclusion to prepare for ascension. Otherwise, he would truly want to take this boy as his disciple.

William Godwin pointed with his hand, and sure enough, the trajectory of those massive jade stones matched Henry Stone’s prediction.

“Little friend, wait a moment.” William Godwin instructed, pointing again, and the completed Azure Dragon Ten-Guard Formation slowly descended. When it touched the ground, it vanished without a sound.

But Henry Stone let out a puzzled “Huh?”: “Why do I feel something’s not quite right?”

William Godwin sighed inwardly: This child truly is an excellent cultivation prospect, able to sense the change in spiritual energy so clearly. What a pity.

He beckoned to Henry Stone: “Little friend, come with me.”

Henry Stone followed him to the mountaintop. “Yesterday you said you had a way to help me—what is it exactly?”

William Godwin smiled slightly. “Little friend, I also have something I’d like your help with.” Henry Stone responded enthusiastically, “Just say the word. As long as I can do it, I won’t refuse.”

William Godwin pointed to the giant stone at the summit. “You can definitely do it. All you need to do is sit on this stone and not move.”

Henry Stone was taken aback. “That simple?”

William Godwin nodded solemnly. “Remember, little friend, no matter what you see in a moment, you must not move. If you help me with this, I’ll tell you how to solve your troubles.”

Henry Stone nodded and sat cross-legged on the stone.

William Godwin sighed inwardly: Truly a mountain youth, so naïve and unsuspecting. If I were a demonic cultivator wanting to seize his primordial spirit to refine a magic weapon, he’d probably cooperate just as obediently.

Composing himself, William Godwin sat down facing Henry Stone, though Henry Stone was on the stone and he was on the ground, one high and one low. Moonlight shone from behind Henry Stone, casting his shadow perfectly over William Godwin.

“Focus your mind, little friend. I’m about to begin.”

At William Godwin’s reminder, Henry Stone nodded.

William Godwin took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. A stream of mist like a white dragon spewed from his mouth. Points of light appeared on his body—those were the nine major life acupoints, one hundred and eight essential points, and three hundred and sixty true points, distributed along the twelve main meridians and eight extraordinary vessels.

Even the Daoist robe on William Godwin couldn’t conceal the brilliant glow.

He looked up and inhaled, drawing in the moonlight, which transformed into threads of silvery spiritual power that entered his body through his seven orifices, gathering into a grain-sized silver light at his brow. Then, starting from the brow acupoint, it followed the meridians, passing through each acupoint, completing a full great circulation—unhurried and almost imperceptible.

“Whew…”

William Godwin exhaled another white dragon, and with each breath, endless moonlight merged into his body.

Henry Stone stared in shock—was this even human? This was practically a deity! He was filled with envy, not knowing that William Godwin envied his naturally condensed primordial spirit even more, sparing him the arduous and perilous steps of cultivation.

William Godwin inhaled and exhaled nine times in a row, his body now awash in shimmering silver light, rippling like mist over a sunset lake.

He opened his eyes and looked at his own legs, finding them solid and steady, and nodded to himself. With Henry Stone here, tonight’s great work could succeed.
