Volume One: The Ordinary Uncle Junior

Chapter One: Inviting Uncle Junior

Qianyuan Continent, Dayan Prefecture, Zhenxian Sect.

In the grand council hall, six elders sat in solemn silence. The one in the center had furrowed brows and a grave expression.

“Three months ago, the sect leader and the great elder, along with others, went to Biluo Sea in search of opportunities. There’s been no news since. Just this morning, in the Yunxian Hall, all the jade tokens carrying their soul imprints shattered!”

Ninth Elder William Grant.

Previously, gatherings of this level would never have allowed him to speak, but now, he held the highest status and greatest strength in the entire sect.

“The shattering of the jade tokens means the cultivators’ souls have been scattered—they are truly dead...” Everyone’s faces turned pale.

“Although Zhenxian Sect is among the top ten sects in Dayan Prefecture, we’re at the bottom of the list. With the sect leader and so many elders gone, not only can we not maintain our first-class status, but our weakened strength may plunge us into crisis, or even lead to our annihilation.”

Elder William Grant spoke heavily, “I’ve gathered you all here in hopes that we can come up with a good solution to get through this crisis together.”

In the world of cultivation, the strong prey on the weak. Without top-tier power, being swallowed by other forces is all too common.

“Many sects went to Biluo Sea this time. Even if we try to cover it up, news of the sect leader’s death will definitely spread... However, it will take some time for the news to fully ferment, so we can prepare in advance. The most urgent task is to stabilize morale and prevent unrest within the sect!”

“To repel external threats, we must first secure our own ranks... Easier said than done! Unless we can find someone with great strength or high seniority to take over as sect leader, or unless one of us can break through, it will be hard to quell this panic.”

“If breaking through were that easy, the sect leader and the others wouldn’t have risked their lives...”

Everyone fell silent.

“Breakthroughs are difficult, and as for finding an outsider to be sect leader, not only would it fail to convince the masses, it would bring even greater trouble. In that case... can we invite Uncle Junior to come out?”

Tenth Elder Edward Harris suddenly spoke.

Everyone was stunned: “You mean Samuel ClarkUncle Junior?”

Ten years ago, at the annual disciple selection, an eight-year-old child named Samuel Clark appeared out of nowhere—born with a Dao body and immortal bloodline... To recruit this genius, their master personally intervened, competing with the leaders of several other major sects.

After a bloody battle, their master emerged victorious, but was gravely injured. Coupled with old age, he soon passed away.

This child’s talent was so overwhelming that even their master dared not take him as a disciple, and instead accepted him on behalf of his own master. Thus, he became their youngest Uncle, and currently the person of highest seniority in Zhenxian Sect.

“Uncle Junior was placed in the forbidden grounds behind the sect by our master as soon as he joined, and has never come out. Even with an innate Dao body, after only ten years of cultivation, his strength is probably limited. Having him come out... might not be of much help!”

“A genius fought over by countless sects, and with the highest seniority—he should be able to...”

“Is there anyone more suitable than him?”

“No one...”

“In that case, let’s invite him out. However, there are some things we need to make clear in advance.”

After some discussion, Elder William Grant made the decision: “Given the current situation, regardless of Uncle Junior’s actual strength, we must all speak with one voice and claim that his cultivation is extraordinary, at the grandmaster level! Only then can we deter those restless sects and reassure all our disciples.”

Cultivation is divided into: Gathering Breath, Forging Origin, Shedding Dust, Transforming the Mortal, Divine Palace, Grandmaster, Legacy, Eternal, and Pseudo-Immortal—nine realms, each with nine minor levels.

Only upon reaching the sixth realm, Grandmaster, does one qualify to lead a first-class sect, establish a school, and be revered by all!

The recently deceased sect leader, as well as their master, had both reached this level.

As for the rest, most were at the third or fourth level of the Divine Palace realm.

This Uncle Junior had always been in the back mountain, and even they didn’t know his true strength—let alone outsiders. In that case... why not just claim he’s a peerless expert?

“It’s easy for us to quietly spread the word and create momentum, but what about Uncle Junior? He’ll definitely have to meet others, and I’m afraid the truth will be exposed!”

Elder Edward Harris frowned.

“I have a piece of [Firefly Silkworm Robe] here. Once worn, it can conceal one’s cultivation and aura—even peak grandmasters would find it hard to see through. Let Uncle Junior wear it, and instruct him in advance to act like a master and not make a move unless it’s a matter of life and death... For a short time, it should be hard to detect.”

Elder William Grant said.
