Second Half Synopsis:

1. This is a world after the Zenith War: the Great Spire has retreated to the South Pole, the world has temporarily returned to peace, Azure has launched a full-scale conscription, and humanity is undergoing transformation as source energy technology explodes.

Henry Clark returns to Fenglong Ao, and upon waking up...

2. In a world split between light and darkness, you see the backs of a vast crowd, carrying war blades as they calmly walk from the light into the shadows. Then, in the darkness, stars begin to shine.

In this world, those stars will always remain...

About the Work

Section One: A Very Short but Important Note Before Reading

Because the original synopsis is probably no longer suitable, I have to post this.

1. To clarify, although it’s called ""Under the Dome,"" this is not a space opera mecha novel as you might expect.

I have certainly tried my hand at such writing, but at its core, my work is about people—one person, a group of people. The setting and plot outline are over seventy thousand words, filled with the characters and stories I dream of writing.

2. At the very beginning, the novel does use a meme circulating online as a starting point for reflection.

But the story is not that story, and I am confident I can write with a sense of flesh and blood reality, so there’s no need to worry about this.

3. Roughly, this is the story:

The Zenith invades, and the resistance moves from the shadows to the forefront.

Behind the gradually rising curtain, there is high-level force unimaginable to ordinary people, the brilliant names of heroes, and countless unnamed bodies; there is iron and blood, sobbing and long songs, those who fight to the death, and light in the depths of despair...

It is said that felling the ""big guy"" is a man’s romance.

A nineteen-year-old boy is forcibly handed a blade—he has to slash at some unknown thing... and carve out a path of survival for hundreds of millions.

4. To avoid trouble, the world in which the story takes place is called ""Azure."" Its civilization is very similar to ours, yet not quite the same.

For example, there is also a college entrance exam, and there are cities and villages.

There is a country called Huaxiya; another called Miteli; the Xiongzhanli Union Republic later disintegrated, and the main successor state is called Rosa.

5. I am beginning to tell their story.

Section Two: Glossary of Terms Related to ""Under the Dome""

The novel introduces some things that may be unfamiliar at first glance. So, this glossary chapter is created and will be updated and supplemented as the story progresses.

To be updated:

1. Source Energy: As for source energy, including its existence and origin, there is currently no explanation that can be fully trusted.

There is only speculation: it is the primordial force left over from the formation of the universe—in other words, it is what triggered and propelled the creation of the universe. Thus, humanity calls it source energy.

Over billions of years, the remaining source energy has been continuously depleted, and by now it is extremely rare and precious.

2. Dead Iron: A super material beyond human understanding.

The ""battle boxes,"" ""weapons,"" etc. of Azure warriors like Lao Jian are all forged from this. It is, as far as is known, the only material that can bear source energy to some extent—irreplaceable.

Like source energy, it is in very short supply.

3. Azure Coalition Army: In 1908, after the famous event later covered up as the ""Tunguska Explosion,"" the nations of humanity established a relatively independent and secret resistance force to jointly resist the threat of Zenith biological invasion.

Through sacrifice and battle, they gradually became aware of the existence of ""source energy"" and ""dead iron.""

Afterwards, through the efforts of scientists, a set of combat equipment was designed, powered by source energy and carried by dead iron, and named the ""Source Energy Three-Dimensional Maneuvering Device,"" to enhance human combat power.
