Chapter 6

On the back of that giant black eagle stood a young man dressed in white, hands clasped behind his back, exuding a calm and composed demeanor that commanded admiration.

As the black eagle was about to land, the young man lightly tapped the eagle’s back with his toes, and his whole body shot upward like an arrow released from a bow, soaring nearly thirty meters high. Such a feat was difficult even for a Martial Cultivator of the Seventh Realm like Mark Benson.

“Who is this person...?”

Evelyn Benson’s heart suddenly pounded wildly, his gaze fixed on the young man in white.

“Logan Benson, that’s right, it really is him, the eldest legitimate grandson of the Duan family patriarch!”

Recognizing the newcomer, Evelyn Benson momentarily lost his composure. The Duan family’s eldest legitimate grandson, who had arrived riding the eagle, was only half a year ago a fresh graduate from the martial training camp, merely at the Fourth Realm of Martial Cultivation. Now, he already possessed strength surpassing that of someone like Mark Benson at the Seventh Realm.

The nine realms of martial cultivation start off easy but become increasingly difficult. Especially after reaching the Fourth Realm, progress often stalls for years, and each subsequent breakthrough can take decades of training.

For a peer to advance from the Fourth to above the Seventh Realm in just half a year was a tremendous shock to Evelyn Benson.

“Haha, Logan Benson, your skill in riding the eagle through the air is truly impressive. To have made such progress in just half a year—your Sixth Uncle is happy for you!”

The one hosting the guests was Duan Shanhe’s sixth son, Grace Benson. Upon seeing the newcomer, Grace Benson, the most socially connected elder in the Duan family, hurried forward to greet him, taking two steps at a time.

Although, given Grace Benson’s status and his formidable strength at the Eighth Realm of Martial Cultivation—“Unmatched Divine Strength”—he had no need to be so courteous to a junior of the same realm.

But as a shrewd and worldly man, Grace Benson saw the potential in his nephew Logan Benson. After all, Logan Benson was now a disciple of the Six Extremes Spiritual Dao Sect, and that status alone was more than enough.

“Nephew greets Sixth Uncle.” Logan Benson gave a slight bow, his proud demeanor undiminished.

Grace Benson seemed not to notice, still beaming as he said, “Logan Benson, your return to celebrate the patriarch’s birthday is truly thoughtful.”

The uncle and nephew chatted as they walked inside. Unexpectedly, at that very moment, a deep, mysterious blue light split the sky, turning the land for hundreds of miles around into a sea of blue.

The sudden celestial phenomenon startled the Duan family servants welcoming guests at the gate, especially as the blue light enveloped them and an overwhelming pressure arose, making everyone tremble.

“Spiritual pressure...”

Just as he was about to step through the main gate, Logan Benson suddenly stopped, his eyes flashing with excitement and surprise. “Such a vast area of spiritual pressure—what kind of treasure could possibly possess this power!”

Having spent half a year in the cultivation world, Logan Benson had learned much about its ways. Standing within the blue light, feeling the unique spiritual pressure of a magical treasure, he was deeply shaken.

“Even the sect’s guardian treasure can only project spiritual pressure over a hundred meters, but this blue treasure’s pressure covers hundreds of miles... My god, what on earth is happening...”

Even Grace Benson didn’t fully understand the concept of spiritual pressure from magical treasures. Although he was stronger than Logan Benson by a margin, without entering a sect and receiving its teachings, he knew nothing of the cultivation world’s mysteries.

“Logan Benson, what do you mean by spiritual pressure?”

Logan Benson did not answer Grace Benson, instead sweeping his gaze across the sky, trying to find the source of the blue light.

Almost at the same moment that Logan Benson looked up, a deep blue streak like a meteor shot down from the sky, plunging at incredible speed into the primeval forest several miles away.

“A treasure whose spiritual pressure covers hundreds of miles actually landed so close to me...” Logan Benson was overjoyed. “I’ve struck it rich, I’ve really struck it rich!”

“Sixth Uncle, I’ll be right back.”

Logan Benson called out hastily, not caring whether Grace Benson responded. With a long whistle, he summoned the giant black eagle, leapt onto its back, and sped toward the primeval forest.

Meanwhile, in the welcoming party, Evelyn Benson had already disappeared. The moment the blue light descended, he had quietly slipped away from the crowd, hiding behind a huge boulder, his gaze fixed on the sky.

When the blue meteor fell from the sky, Evelyn Benson dashed off in that direction with all his might.

A fiery light shone in Evelyn Benson’s eyes, and he was ecstatic. “This is almost certainly the spiritual pressure from a magical treasure that Father mentioned... A magical treasure—such things are rare even in the cultivation world...”

It turned out that Logan Benson was not the only one present who recognized the spiritual pressure of a magical treasure.

Chapter Four: Who Is More Sinister

A hundred miles southeast of the Duan family residence, a figure shot into the sky, racing toward the primeval forest. Although he had to land every hundred meters or so, he was clearly faster than Logan Benson riding the eagle. Such cultivation clearly indicated he was already touching upon the Ninth Realm of Martial Cultivation—“Body Tempered Like a Dragon.”
