Chapter 12

“Uncle Foster, according to this 'Detailed Guide to Hydrogen Bomb Usage', the 'hydrogen bomb' refined by Senior David Reed with the Great Sun True Fire is incredibly powerful. Once detonated, it truly seems like the sun itself in the sky, with the power to burn the heavens and boil the seas. Although we've prepared mid-grade puppet talismans, the effective range is still only two hundred li...”

In the carriage, Grace Foster looked a bit worried.

“Doesn't it describe protective measures up there? Lie down facing away from the blast center, curl up, place both hands under your chest, close your eyes and open your mouth, press your face between your arms, and best to hide underground. I remember there's a hundred-meter-deep crevice thirty li behind us. When the time comes, we'll hide there... Besides...”

Benjamin Foster paused slightly, his voice tinged with bitterness: “A top-grade puppet talisman costs fifty spirit stones.”

Though talisman prices are only a tenth of magical artifacts, they're still not cheap.

The mid-grade puppet talisman for twenty spirit stones had already exhausted all their savings. As for the top-grade puppet talisman, they couldn't afford it even if they wanted to.

  Grace Foster's eyes dimmed.

“In fact, if the Great Sun True Fire in this 'hydrogen bomb' can really harm people two hundred li away, I would only be glad.”

  “Glad?”

“This 'hydrogen bomb' is too large to hide easily. Among those human fiends, there are even Golden Core cultivators. It's very hard for us to get within ten li of them. Fortunately, these human fiends are entrenched at our Frost Sword Sect's mountain gate. I know a secret passage that leads to a warehouse twenty li from the main hall. When the time comes, we'll place the hydrogen bomb there, withdraw, and then detonate it with a puppet talisman...”

Benjamin Foster said with a complicated expression, “If its power is truly as Senior 'David Reed' described, even those Golden Core human fiends twenty li away won't escape death. But if it's too weak, even if it reaches the level of Purple Flame True Fire, I'm afraid... it still won't be enough to deal with the Golden Core human fiends twenty li away.”

At this, Grace Foster's eyes also showed a trace of worry.

“But you don't need to worry. I'll place several image-recording stones atop Enlightenment Peak eighty li away. This 'hydrogen bomb' is definitely stronger than Purple Flame True Fire. Even if it can't wipe out the human fiends entrenched at our Frost Sword Sect's mountain gate, at least it will force those Golden Core fiends to reveal themselves, allowing us to clearly see their true strength, so we can invite Lord White and Dean Wright to subdue the fiends.”

  Benjamin Foster comforted her.

Grace Foster nodded after hearing this. “We'll split up. I'll trouble you, Uncle Foster, to place the hydrogen bomb, and I'll go set the image-recording stones.”

  “Alright.”

  Benjamin Foster nodded.

  The two quickly set out.

As a True Condensation cultivator and an elder of the Frost Sword Sect, Benjamin Foster had lived in the sect for over a hundred years and was intimately familiar with the terrain around Yunling. Although it was difficult to hide the forty-ton hydrogen bomb, with caution and his own cultivation, he still managed to reach the warehouse outside the Frost Sword Sect's mountain gate, place the hydrogen bomb inside, and attach an activated puppet talisman to a wooden figure.

Meanwhile, atop Enlightenment Peak, Grace Foster also successfully placed ten image-recording stones.

This was the highest peak around the Frost Sword Sect, with an excellent view.

From the summit, she could see the Frost Sword Sect's mountain gate eighty li away.

The once fairyland-like palaces were now shrouded in darkness, dilapidated and ruined, with fiends running rampant inside and demonic flames blotting out the sky.

Human fiends are a kind of evil existence that has lost all humanity but still possesses intelligence.

They have existed for a long time, disguising themselves as demonic cultivators, lurking within the demonic sects, existing in human society, and bringing endless calamity. It wasn't until several hundred years ago that people learned from the Heaven's Secret Realm that human fiends and demonic cultivators are fundamentally different species.

The latter, though cruel in their methods, are at least still human. The former...

Can no longer be classified as “human,” but are true fiends.

It was precisely to root out the human fiends hidden in human society and eliminate the breeding ground for human fiends and demonic cultivators that the rule forbidding cultivators from slaughtering mortals without cause was established.

Thinking of her beloved mother Alice Foster, and her senior and junior brothers and sisters who were like family, all falling victim to the human fiends, her heart was filled with grief.

“Mother, senior brothers and sisters, junior brothers and sisters, we've met a benefactor who bestowed upon us a supreme treasure. With this treasure, we will surely eradicate the human fiends in Yunling and avenge you all!”

  Grace Foster bit her lip.

  She turned and quickly withdrew.

Not long after she reached the crevice for hiding, at the edge of the sky, a sword light seemed to activate a secret technique, streaking across the heavens at astonishing speed.

Farther behind, three more streams of light, wrapped in demonic flames, surged in pursuit. In less than ten breaths, they would catch up.

  “Uncle Foster!?”

Grace Foster cried out in alarm.

The sword light howled and instantly landed at the crevice—it was the True Condensation cultivator Benjamin Foster.

“I was discovered by patrolling True Condensation human fiends on my way back. Three of them are chasing me. Now, we can only hope that the Great Sun True Fire in the 'hydrogen bomb' is as powerful as Senior 'David Reed' said. Otherwise, we are doomed today.”

Benjamin Foster dared not hesitate for a moment: “Lily, hide well. I will now detonate the Great Sun True Fire in the 'hydrogen bomb'.”

  “Yes.”

  “Close your eyes!”

Benjamin Foster shouted in a low voice, a trace of ferocity appearing on his face: “Human fiends! Die!”

Meanwhile, at the warehouse outside the Frost Sword Sect's mountain gate.
