Chapter 10

Chad Wright landed a hit, the light in his eyes burning even brighter. Thinking he had figured out Ethan Clark's secrets, his attacks became even more ferocious.

"Kid, as long as you hand over that supreme treasure you have, I'll spare your life. Otherwise, you will die without a doubt!"

Chad Wright's sinister, low voice reached Ethan Clark's ears.

"Supreme treasure?"

Ethan Clark was momentarily stunned, then a trace of mockery appeared on his face.

He instantly understood what Chad Wright meant. It was likely that his astonishing performance today had made Chad Wright mistakenly believe he had obtained some kind of supreme treasure.

But Ethan Clark didn't bother to explain. He gave a cold laugh and said, "You think you're worthy?"

"You're looking for death!"

Chad Wright's expression instantly turned grim, and his attacks became even more ruthless. In a flash, several punches landed on Ethan Clark, causing a trace of blood to trickle from the corner of Ethan Clark's mouth.

"Kill him, kill that little bastard!"

"Senior Brother Wright is mighty, Senior Brother Wright is invincible!"

The disciples of the Discipline Hall, including Brian Clark, Andrew Brooks, and others, saw that Ethan Clark had completely fallen into a disadvantage and began shouting loudly.

"Some people just don't know when to quit!"

Although Ethan Clark's face was a bit pale, his eyes remained incomparably calm. He looked at Chad Wright as if he were already a dead man.

"Heavens, I command you to strike him down with lightning!"

Ethan Clark pointed at the sky and shouted.

Chad Wright was momentarily stunned, then burst out laughing. "You little bastard, have you lost your mind? Do you think you're the son of the heavens or something? The one who's going to die today is you, not me."

Crack!

As soon as Chad Wright finished speaking, a purple bolt of lightning appeared out of nowhere and struck him directly on the head.

"Ah..."

Chad Wright let out a miserable scream, his whole body convulsing as he collapsed to the ground.

"Holy shit @#$%^..."

The expressions on everyone's faces looked as if they'd just eaten shit—extremely ugly. The same thought popped into everyone's mind.

Originally, everyone was about to mock Ethan Clark, but no one expected that in broad daylight, a bolt of lightning would really strike down—and hit Chad Wright precisely.

"That was way too much of a coincidence..." someone whispered.

"It must be a coincidence. There's no way Ethan Clark, that useless loser, could summon lightning," someone else said skeptically, curling their lip.

"I'm going to kill you, you little bastard!"

Chad Wright struggled to his feet, his face twisted with rage, and suddenly lunged at Ethan Clark.

"Heavens, strike him down!" Ethan Clark pointed at Chad Wright.

Crack!

Instantly, another purple bolt of lightning fell, striking Chad Wright so hard that he foamed at the mouth and collapsed to the ground, convulsing all over. This time, he didn't dare curse at Ethan Clark again, his eyes filled with terror.

If the first lightning strike was a coincidence, what about the second?

Everyone stared at Ethan Clark as if they'd seen a ghost. The surroundings fell completely silent; no one dared to say another word.

They were all afraid that Ethan Clark would summon a bolt of lightning and strike them dead on the spot.

At that moment, in an ancient, simple hall atop the mountain, a middle-aged Daoist shrouded in milky-white light suddenly opened his eyes, two dazzling beams of divine light piercing through the void.

"This is... the fluctuation of the sect-protecting grand array?!"

"You... Ethan Clark, just you wait! My grandfather won't let you off! My grandfather is the Discipline Elder—you're dead for sure, no one can save you now!"

Lying on the ground, Chad Wright looked at Ethan Clark with eyes full of venomous hatred.

Ethan Clark glanced sidelong at Chad Wright, then uttered another sentence that nearly drove him insane.

"Heavens, strike him down!"

Crack!

Once again, a purple bolt of lightning fell in response, charring Chad Wright's entire body, his hair disheveled, looking utterly wretched, his aura now incomparably weak.

"You little bastard, you're courting death!"

Suddenly, a thunderous roar echoed across the sky. From the distance, a dignified old man in black robes with a head of silver hair swept over, his entire body radiating a murderous aura as he charged toward Ethan Clark.

"Oh no, it's the Discipline Elder!"

"Ethan Clark is done for now. The Discipline Elder dotes on Senior Brother Wright the most. Ethan Clark beat Senior Brother Wright up like this—there's no way the Discipline Elder will let this go!"

"But I don't think it was Ethan Clark who did it. Senior Brother Wright was struck by lightning from the heavens. Could it be that Senior Brother Wright really did something so outrageous that even the heavens were angry?"

"No matter what, Ethan Clark is finished this time!"

"..."

The crowd buzzed with discussion, all looking at the black-robed elder approaching from afar, their eyes filled with awe.

Discipline Elder Matthew Wright, held a position of great power in the Longevity Sect, second only to the sect master. His cultivation had long since reached the Dragon-Tiger Realm, possessing the might to subdue dragons and tigers.

The moment he appeared, his overwhelming, heaven-like aura made many disciples turn pale.

"What are you supposed to be?"

Ethan Clark's eyes flashed, a trace of disdain appearing at the corner of his mouth.

Matthew Wright's eyes burned with killing intent as he walked toward Ethan Clark step by step, his immense aura growing ever stronger, pressing down on Ethan Clark with full force.
