Chapter 13

He had some memories of this forest in that body. The woods here were dense and sprawling, the environment tranquil and secluded. Not only was it a dating spot for student couples, but it was also a place where many students who couldn't afford the training halls came to cultivate.

Once you slipped into the forest, quietly comprehending what you had learned that day and silently sensing your own gradual growth, it naturally attracted many students who enjoyed immersing themselves in it.

Entering the forest, William Carter was about to dash toward a densely wooded area, running at full speed, using the trees as obstacles to train his footwork and movement techniques.

However, when the corner of his eye caught sight of four somewhat sneaky stalkers not far away, his pace slowed down again, and he headed toward a rarely frequented part of the deep forest.

“He’s noticed us?”

Among the four stalkers, one of them was none other than Raymond Miller, whose limbs had gone weak from being intimidated by a single glance from William Carter not long ago.

“How bold!”

The other three, like Raymond Miller, were all high-level martial artists—senior students at the Advanced Heavy Sword Academy, about to graduate.

Seeing that William Carter, after discovering them, not only didn’t head for the crowded areas to escape but instead walked toward the more remote and rarely visited deep forest, the young man in the lead snorted coldly and stopped hiding, striding into the woods.

“Shawn Lewis, wait for us.”

The two students following behind the young man quickly caught up.

One of them, seeing Raymond Miller seeming a bit hesitant, couldn’t help but scowl: “Raymond Miller, what are you doing? Are you thinking of backing out at the last minute? Don’t forget, we’re here to help you get even. If it weren’t for you, do you think Shawn Lewis would spare his precious time to come here?”

“Forget it… I appreciate Shawn Lewis’s kindness, but that kid is really something strange…”

“Did I hear you right, Raymond Miller? You’re really getting more and more cowardly. You’re a senior about to graduate, and yet you’re so scared by a sixteen-year-old freshman that you don’t even want revenge? Do you really think that a sixteen-year-old advanced martial artist could possibly do anything to us four advanced martial artists? Do you still take him for a full-fledged swordsman? If you dare take one step back today, don’t blame me, Shane Carter, for not considering you a brother anymore!”

“Fine, I’ll go.”

Although Raymond Miller still felt some fear toward William Carter, thinking of the humiliation he had suffered today, he gritted his teeth and forced himself to follow.

“What’s going on? Why are you taking so long?”

At the front, Shawn Lewis saw the two catching up and frowned, speaking with some dissatisfaction.

“Sorry, Shawn Lewis, we were just making sure no one was following us. After all, the instructor Jane Howard, who teaches advanced swordsmanship, seems to have a special regard for him, probably because they’re both from Bishui City.”

“Bishui City, huh… The Xi family of Bishui City is somewhat famous in the Luohe Province, but in the whole Taixuan Kingdom, they’re nothing. Besides, that kid is just a commoner. How could the Xi family of Bishui City offend me for a commoner? I, Samuel Lewis, am a direct descendant of the Bai family of Baishan Province. Once I’m promoted to a full-fledged swordsman, I can inherit the vacant baron title in my family. Compared to me, a mere commoner—would the Xi family really go to such lengths to oppose my Bai family for him!?”

Samuel Lewis spoke coldly.

Seeing that they had reached the depths of the forest, with no other students in sight, they wasted no more time. With a wave of his hand, Raymond Miller, Shane Carter, and the other two quickly rushed forward, swiftly surrounding William Carter.

“Have you made up your mind?”

Seeing the four surrounding him, William Carter stopped in his tracks.

“Kid, if you know what’s good for you—”

The student standing directly in front of William Carter shouted harshly, about to say something threatening.

However, before he could finish, William Carter suddenly stepped forward, his blood surging within him. As his left foot shot out, a tremendous force surged into his right foot, which then kicked fiercely at the student’s chest.

“Bang!”

With overwhelming force, the kick sent the unprepared advanced martial artist flying. The huge momentum carried him four or five meters away, slamming him hard into a tree. The clear sound of bones breaking echoed through the quiet forest.

“Bastard!”

“Looking for death!”

“He actually dared to strike first—cripple him!”

Seeing William Carter take out one of their own with a single move, Samuel Lewis, who had been about to make a grand speech, immediately cursed, his right hand instantly gripping the sword at his waist.

But just as his sword was halfway drawn, a dazzling flash of sword light suddenly lit up in the dim forest. Agonizing pain spread from his shoulder as a cold, gleaming sword pierced through it, the blade slanting upward, sending a spray of crimson blood flying. Without losing momentum, it clashed with the sword edge that Shane Carter was thrusting over. The entire sequence was smooth and seamless, without the slightest pause!

“Bang!”
