Henry Bennett replied softly, “Weren’t you the one who told me? In a city full of monsters like this, what else can you do but stay calm?”
Grace Cooper didn’t know what to say for a moment. After a while, she smiled and said, “You really are someone who listens to advice.”
Henry Bennett didn’t know how to respond to these words either.
But Grace Cooper, hearing his silence, smiled and said, “Since you’re ready to face all this, it’s time for the next step.”
Henry Bennett was a little intrigued. “The next step you’re talking about—what do you mean?”
“We’re too weak, so of course we need to find something to protect ourselves.”
Grace Cooper’s voice took on a mysterious tone. “It’s a complicated issue, but don’t worry, I found a very experienced designer to help you.”
“Be polite to her, she’s a very well-behaved and quiet girl.”
“……”
“Alright.”
Henry Bennett agreed, and as he thought about the person Grace Cooper was going to introduce, he couldn’t help but feel a faint sense of anticipation.
After waiting for a while, he heard a notification sound from his phone. Sure enough, Grace Cooper had sent over a contact. But when Henry Bennett saw it, he was stunned for a moment—the profile picture was a cute girl in a maid outfit.
And the nickname was: [Old Auntie Eighteen Sits on the Ground and Eats Dirt]
“This quiet girl’s nickname is a bit wild, isn’t it?”

“Hello, Brother Henry……”
After the friend request was accepted, Old Auntie Eighteen Sits on the Ground and Eats Dirt immediately sent a smiley face and a message that sounded very sweet.
“Hello……”
Henry Bennett hesitated over the words “Old Auntie” and “Eighteen,” and tentatively said, “Miss Eats Dirt?”
“……”
There was a moment of silence in the chat box, then the other party said, “I’m called Sophie.”
“Sorry, sorry……”
Henry Bennett typed out an apology: This nickname is pretty wild, but the name sounds like a very gentle girl…
“Miss Grace already told me about you, Brother Henry. She said you’re someone with a lot of potential…”
Seeing her message, Henry Bennett felt he should be modest, but then she sent a second line: “And very handsome.”
Henry Bennett silently deleted his modest reply and wrote again, “I’m just an ordinary person, nothing special about my potential.”
“You’ll know when we meet. Uptown East, ten o’clock. Is that okay, Brother Henry?”
“Of course, see you at ten.”
“……”
After setting the meeting time with Miss Sophie, Henry Bennett quickly changed into clean clothes, put on a hoodie, and headed out.
Uptown East was one of Black Gate City’s hottest commercial districts, home to over seventy percent of the city’s high-end restaurants and luxury stores. Usually, only two kinds of people could be found here.
One was the local upper-class elite, and the other was the lower-class people who served them.
Normally, Henry Bennett was just a poor student and had no chance to come here. But in his childhood memories, he’d been here a few times with his dad.
He hadn’t been out in four years, so naturally he had no money. Luckily, his mom had left him two hundred yuan in pocket money, which was all he had to his name.
So Henry Bennett didn’t even order a coffee, just sat quietly outside the café, waiting for the designer lady to arrive.
“This Old Auntie Eighteen Sits on the Ground and Eats Dirt—what does she look like, I wonder?”
Thinking of her cuteness in chat and Grace Cooper’s earlier reminder, Henry Bennett pictured a quiet and sweet girl in his mind, and his eyes unconsciously scanned the passing crowd.
Sweet temperament, with a hint of rebellion—probably that type.
Time was up, but his phone still hadn’t rung, and Henry Bennett kept checking the time.
Just then, in the distance, a tall, cool black motorcycle rode up.
Such a powerful and flashy bike could instantly catch any man’s eye.
What’s more, the rider was a petite girl with great proportions, but compared to the motorcycle—let alone a regular scooter—she looked tiny.
The motorcycle reached the intersection and was about to turn when, out of nowhere, a blue sports car came from the left. Both vehicles braked in time, then simultaneously honked their horns.
The sports car’s engine roared, its front end surging forward, as if impatiently waiting for the motorcycle to move.
The biker looked at the sports car with some annoyance, stretched out a short leg to brace herself on the nearby railing to avoid falling, and kept pressing the horn with her right hand.
Neither side would give way, and the sports car inched forward, eager to push through.
The girl on the motorcycle angrily took off her helmet—she was actually a quiet-looking girl with short hair. The corner of her mouth curled coldly, and she suddenly twisted the throttle.
“Vroom…”
The motorcycle shot forward.
The sports car, revving its engine and aggressively pressing ahead, saw the motorcycle actually charge forward and slammed on the brakes.
But the motorcycle had no intention of stopping, ramming right into the way, forcefully crossing the intersection. The sports car, unable to dodge, was left with a deep scratch.
The motorcycle turned the corner, and the short-haired girl on it, looking triumphant, pulled over to the side of the road and straightened up.
