Setting out again, after just a few minutes, a circular hall appeared before the two of them.
White candles burned here and there, illuminating the entire hall.
A massive dome hung overhead, with all sorts of clutter scattered haphazardly around the edges. At the very center stood six pillars, rising from a huge circular floor engraved with patterns. The tops of the pillars were connected, forming a pavilion-like structure, and six candles burned atop the pillars.
Brandon Jenkins stepped past Hakann and moved forward to examine it. The floor was made up of concentric circles, decorated with interwoven golden tree roots, and at the very center was a small protrusion about the size of a pot lid.
He knew this was something like an elevator in the Lands Between.
“Come on, we have a chance to get out.”
Brandon Jenkins turned and called to Hakann.
Hakann nodded;叄+o寺0齐K迩鸸司爸<寺 to show he understood.
“Do I need to do anything?”
“No, just bring your companions. We’ll all stand in the middle of these pillars together.”
Hakann trusted Brandon Jenkins a lot by now and obediently did as told.
Once the warhorse and white wolf had also come up, Brandon Jenkins walked to the center and stomped hard on the mechanism.
With a rumbling sound, the mechanism—silent for who knows how many years—began to operate.
The floor beneath their feet started to rise, carrying them upward.
Hakann and his group had never seen anything like this before. The warhorse and white wolf immediately crouched down on all fours, whimpering.
Hakann wasn’t much better off. Though his face remained cold, Brandon Jenkins could see his legs trembling.
The elevator not only rose, but also rotated slightly as it went up.
When they reached the upper level, a staircase leading even higher appeared before them.
“I never imagined there could be something like this in the world.”
Hakann’s face was pale, and the white wolf stood up and howled, as if echoing Hakann’s words.
“Haha, come on, it’s a fun experience! What’s there to be afraid of?”
Seeing Brandon Jenkins’s cheeky grin, Hakann’s face flushed red, but he still insisted,
“Who’s afraid?!”
Brandon Jenkins just smiled and ignored Hakann’s stubbornness, heading straight for the stairs.
There weren’t many steps, and soon they arrived at a door.
Brandon Jenkins took a deep breath and used both hands to lift the heavy door.
A dazzling light shone through the crack, making Brandon Jenkins squint, but his hands didn’t stop—he lifted the door all the way up.
Brandon Jenkins’s eyes quickly adjusted to the brightness, and as he looked out, he saw a breathtaking scene.
A gigantic Erdtree stood upon the land, stretching between heaven and earth, as if it were a pillar separating the sky from the ground. Its layered branches covered half the sky, constantly showering the world with light.
Several other pillar-like structures, also reaching from earth to sky, were scattered near and far. Some were close by, showing off their grandeur, while others were hidden in the mist, leaving only their outlines.
On a distant towering cliff, a majestic castle was shrouded in storms, coldly overlooking the land.
Countless ruins of enormous, shattered buildings lay scattered across the ground, a testament to the lost glory of the past...
This was the Lands Between, a land forged in blood and fire, and also the battlefield where Brandon Jenkins would ride forth.

Chapter 10: The White Masked Vanrei
Brandon Jenkins gazed in awe at the scene before him.
Ever since he crossed over, it had been nothing but the perilous Chapel of the Prince, or dark, oppressive caves and tombs, to the point that Brandon Jenkins had forgotten the artistic beauty of Elden Ring’s landscapes.
Bathed in the Erdtree’s radiance, Brandon Jenkins felt as if he’d recaptured the awe of playing Elden Ring for the first time.
It was pure joy—just launching the game was enough to make him excited for the adventure ahead.
The warmth of the Erdtree’s light, the faint scent of flowers, the leisurely grazing sheep.
It was hard to imagine such harmony could exist on a land soaked in blood.
All this beauty made Brandon Jenkins feel, for the first time, that he truly lived in this grand and fantastical world.
The unwillingness to face the fact of his death in his previous life, the doubts about whether he had really crossed over—these things that had haunted and weighed on Brandon Jenkins’s heart were all cast aside at this moment.
He was no longer conflicted. Since he had come to this world, he might as well enjoy it.
Hakann walked up beside Brandon Jenkins.
“Well? Pretty shocking, right? Even though the Golden Order is broken, the Erdtree still stands.”
Brandon Jenkins didn’t speak. After a while, he finally said,
“I’ve decided. I’m going to bring peace to the Lands Between.”
“What? Are you—are you serious? Do you know how hard that is?”
“It may be a spur-of-the-moment decision, but my resolve is real.”
Brandon Jenkins said earnestly.

He didn’t think Brandon Jenkins could succeed, but somehow he found himself imagining that scene.
“Sigh, I wish you luck. If you succeed, maybe I’ll get to bask in your glory and experience a peaceful world.”
Hakann sighed. He still couldn’t picture such a thing happening in the Lands Between.
He patted his warhorse and swung himself up.
“Well, I guess our journey ends here. It’s been a pleasure traveling with you. I hope we never have to cross swords in the future.”
