Chapter 5

Roars and fierce howls intertwined, and gradually, everyone could only see a blur of red and a blur of black tangled together. The red blur was, of course, Tyler Walker in his bright red wedding robe, and the black blur was Old Owen. With such speed and strength, no one around could intervene.

However, amidst this entanglement, an opportunity arose for everyone. The young and strong hunters watching quickly scattered, and when they returned, each held a sturdy bow, arrows nocked and aimed at the center. They waited only for the man and the dog to separate before releasing their arrows to kill.

The man and the dog fought for about the time it takes to drink a cup of tea before suddenly breaking apart.

Tyler Walker leapt back, still shielding Hannah Johnson, standing with his blade across his body. His bright red wedding robe had already been shredded into strips by Old Owen's sharp claws. Where the robe was torn, deep wounds down to the bone could be seen, blood mingling with the red fabric. No one knew just how much blood he had lost.

As soon as the two separated, the young hunters around them would not let such a chance slip by. The arrows, already nocked, were suddenly released toward Old Owen.

With a series of “whoosh, whoosh, whoosh” sounds, dozens of arrows shot toward Old Owen.

“Clang, clang, clang...”

The arrows struck Old Owen, but instead produced the sound of metal clashing, all bouncing off. Dozens of arrows, yet not a single one could harm him in the slightest.

“Awooo—!” Old Owen shook his body and let out a fierce howl. The sound was like thunder, shaking everyone nearby and forcing them to scatter. His massive, tiger-like body suddenly leapt up, and in just a few bounds, he disappeared without a trace.

“Steel bones and iron muscles, truly steel bones and iron muscles. This beast has already become so formidable!”

Tyler Walker's face was pale as he stared in shock in the direction where Old Owen had vanished, muttering to himself.

It was only after a long moment that everyone snapped out of it, rushing over in a flurry, bombarding him with questions, the scene descending into chaos.

As for Danny Goodwin, the little child, he was naturally tossed aside by the crowd.

“Did I see things wrong, or what? No, even if I was mistaken the first time, what about the second and third times? I clearly saw the glint on that guy’s blade, and when he fought with Old Owen, he jumped several meters high—much higher than a high jumper. I can’t be seeing things. Could it be that I’ve come to a martial arts world?!”

After experiencing such a thrilling scene, Danny Goodwin was not nervous at all. On the contrary, his heart was filled with excitement, because he seemed to realize that the world he had come to was not as boring as he had imagined. Not only was it not boring, but it was very likely, just like those novels he had read, that he had really transmigrated into a world where one could cultivate martial arts or even Daoist arts!

If that was really the case, wouldn’t he have a chance at immortality?

Even if he couldn’t become immortal, those who cultivated internal energy in legends could live for hundreds of years. Maybe he would have that chance too?

No one cared about the thoughts of a three-year-old child. In such circumstances, no one paid attention to the situation of a three-year-old kid. Right now, everyone’s focus was on Tyler Walker.

What was supposed to be a lively wedding had suddenly turned into such an incident. In the hearts of the mountain folk, this was extremely inauspicious. Fortunately, no one had died.

The groom, Tyler Walker, lost too much blood and soon fainted. Luckily, he was strong and robust, and after drinking a few bowls of medicinal broth, he woke up.

This was originally an unlucky event, but after the initial panic, the mountain folk actually began to feel a surge of joy in their hearts.

Especially Henry Johnson, the village chief, who had been standing by Tyler Walker's side the whole time. The look in his eyes grew softer and more affectionate, as if he were gazing at a rare treasure.

Of course, Danny Goodwin didn’t care about this. Even if he did, he wouldn’t think anything was wrong.

The strength displayed just now, though not enough to match Old Owen, was far greater than that of the village hunters. Although he was just the chief of a small mountain village, he was still the chief. To borrow a phrase from Danny Goodwin's previous life: don’t underestimate the village chief.

He had also seen the red glow on the thick-backed blade in Tyler Walker's hand, and understood what it meant.

In mountain village life, the most important things are a strong body and good skills. These are the foundation for survival here. There have always been many wild beasts in the surrounding mountains, all extremely fierce. Setting aside Old Owen, the snakes, insects, tigers, and leopards in the mountains are all not to be trifled with. The hunters in the village can at most catch some wild boars. When they encounter real beasts, all they can do is run, because most of the time, life is more important than food. Losing a hunter for the sake of hunting a beast is never worth it.

The appearance of Tyler Walker gave him hope. He could even foresee that, in the near future, under Tyler Walker's leadership, the village’s supply of meat would greatly increase, and in time, they might even become one of the most powerful villages in this old forest.
