Chapter 13

Benjamin Franklin carefully picked up this "artifact," examining it from left to right. There wasn't the slightest fluctuation from the object, and it didn't look anything like the legendary artifacts that shook the heavens and earth. He wasn't quite sure, so he cast another identification spell, but the result was the same—no reaction at all. Benjamin Franklin shook his head and handed the item back to William Graham. He really couldn't figure it out, so he could only remind William Graham, "Keep it safe."

Chapter 004: Useless Artifact

Although he hadn't figured out what exactly the product made from the other line of thought was, the success of the previous work proved that William Graham's alternative approach was also correct. William Graham said, "Sir, I now understand what you told me three years ago: the joy of alchemy lies in this very process!"

Benjamin Franklin burst out laughing, his thick white beard dancing with his laughter. "Albert Graham, you old fox, you even came up with a dual-solution formula. Looks like there's still a gap between us. No, I must surpass you!"

During these three years, it wasn't just Benjamin Franklin teaching William Graham alchemy; William Graham also passed on some other sects' golden core techniques to Benjamin Franklin. With his level of mastery, he grasped them instantly, and these three years had been greatly beneficial to him. He just hadn't had time to digest all the new knowledge yet. Once he settled down to study and summarize it carefully, surpassing the Dragon Alchemist would be just around the corner.

"Even the formulas commonly used on the continent may have other solutions," Benjamin Franklin said. "Graham, you must remember this." A formula is like a riddle; everyone comes up with a different answer.

Benjamin Franklin put away the alchemy formula, but did not take back the ring. "Graham, you should go out and see the world. If you keep staying here, you won't make any more progress. The most important thing in alchemy is practice. The world outside is vast, and the continent is full of hidden talents. They will be of help to you."

William Graham was taken aback. "Sir..." Benjamin Franklin waved his hand and smiled, "I can tell that although you're happy here with me, there's always a lingering sadness you can't shake off. I don't know why, but I believe you'll find your own answer. I have no use for this ring anymore; I've already memorized all the information inside. I'll give it to you as a parting gift. Also..." He rummaged in his pocket, "This alchemist badge is one I used in my early years. Although it's only a level six alchemist badge, it's officially recognized by the Alchemist Guild. With it, you won't need to go to the Alchemist Association for certification."

William Graham's abilities were quite complex. In terms of being able to stand shoulder to shoulder with Benjamin Franklin, he was worthy of the title of a titled master. But purely in alchemy, his level had only reached that of a level seven alchemist.

"Here is a letter from me, recommending you to teach at Dongsheng Academy, one of the five great academies on the continent." The master took out a magic letter, and William Graham quietly accepted it. Although he didn't want to teach, he couldn't refuse the master's kind intentions. As for whether he would actually go to Dongsheng Academy, he would decide later.

"After you leave, I plan to travel around the three continents as well. I haven't been out in decades, so it's time to get moving and visit some old friends. I'll take all your works with me; your theories are profound, and having them will help me understand your ideas better."

Benjamin Franklin had stayed in the Liusu Mountains only to find someone to inherit his alchemy. Now that his wish was fulfilled, he naturally wouldn't stay any longer. He took William Graham's works to help himself understand, and William Graham had no objections—after all, they were all quickly made works, each with some flaws. Besides, all these works had been made using Benjamin Franklin's materials. He left the flying sword for self-defense and gave the rest to Benjamin Franklin.

Partings are always sad. William Graham had lived under the sky of the Cloak of the Goddess of Wisdom for three years and had grown attached to every blade of grass and tree here. Though he was reluctant to leave, he still said goodbye to Benjamin Franklin and Emma Green with red eyes. He needed to find a way back to Earth, where his lover and child were waiting for him—he couldn't let them wait too long. The first step was to recreate Emma Green's summoning magic circle, for which he needed to find these materials: half a bag of Black Marsh Nine-Seed Grass, at least one Split-Tooth Ichthyosaur eye, and two kilograms of Rhino-Headed Mad Serpent gallbladder. These materials were extremely rare; even Benjamin Franklin only had a little in stock, all of which had been wasted by Emma Green.

The Cloak of the Goddess of Wisdom, true to its name, seemed to possess a life-like intelligence. As William Graham stepped out of the blue membrane, he clearly felt a slight stickiness on his body. He turned back with a chuckle, patted the pale blue membrane, and said, "You can't bear to see me go either? Don't worry, I'll definitely come back to visit you all."

……

The Starforge World is made up of three continents: the southern Xingye Continent, the eastern Xinghe Continent, and the northern Xingkong Continent. Benjamin Franklin's small cabin was built on the southeastern foothills of the Liusu Mountains in the southeast of Xingkong Continent, facing the Xinghe Continent across the sea to the east.
