In the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the tiger had already been devoured completely, leaving behind only tattered tiger skin and a ground littered with broken bones!
The monster still didn’t seem full, its dark purple eyes darting around as if searching for its next prey.
Without any warning, a sharp bird cry suddenly rang out by Brian Carter’s ear. The monster’s dark purple eyes flickered, and it began to flee desperately back the way it had come!
There was actually something that even it feared! Brian Carter was suddenly stunned!
Chapter 002: The Battle of Two Creatures
Following the source of the bird cry, Brian Carter spotted a black dot in the upper left corner.
At first glance, it just looked like a small patch of black cloud. Moments later, the black cloud gradually approached, and the bird cries grew more urgent, sounding especially piercing in the silent forest.
Looking again, the black cloud had expanded more than tenfold. It turned out to be a giant golden eagle, but strangely, the eagle’s eyes were deep red, like two ghostly flames drifting in the night forest. Even stranger, the eagle had a horn on its head and four pairs of claws. Its wings, when fully spread, stretched ten meters long. As it swooped down from the sky, it seemed to even block out the moonlight. What kind of eagle was this!
It was clear that the giant eagle’s target was the monster from before. The eagle’s flying speed was obviously faster than the monster’s running. Although there was some distance between them at first, it closed in within moments. As the two creatures moved, they were already some distance away from Brian Carter, making it hard to see clearly. Without further hesitation, Brian Carter climbed down the tree and followed the traces left by the monster.
No longer deliberately slowing his pace, after half an hour, Brian Carter could already hear loud crashing sounds, mixed with bird cries and hissing noises.
Brian Carter slowed his steps, carefully approaching along the sounds. The first thing he saw was the giant eagle circling in the air, while the two-horned python monster kept shifting its position in response, always keeping its python head firmly facing the eagle.
The giant eagle kept changing its movements in the air, as if searching for the best opportunity to attack. After another spin, the eagle moved behind a towering tree, blocking the python monster’s line of sight. The monster’s dark purple eyes showed a brief moment of distraction, as if puzzled by the eagle’s whereabouts. In the next instant, the eagle appeared behind the monster’s head, its four pairs of golden claws whistling down like iron hooks toward the back of the monster’s head.
At this moment, the python monster hadn’t yet turned its head and took the blow head-on, letting out a strange screech that was neither snake nor insect. Several scales on the back of its head were torn open, oozing dark red blood. Its two pairs of wings kept flapping at the eagle, but they didn’t have the ability to fly, only emitting shrill, piercing cries.
The giant eagle responded with bird cries as well, but the python monster, having suffered a loss, became even more cautious, and the eagle could no longer find a better opportunity to strike!
The eagle circled around the python monster, and the monster kept shifting its body in response.
After a brief stalemate, the python monster seemed unwilling to linger any longer and sped off in one direction, moving even faster than before. The eagle let out a sharp cry and chased after it, with Brian Carter carefully following behind.
When he saw the two creatures again, the eagle was circling above a pitch-black cave, while the python monster was desperately trying to rush inside, but the eagle kept blocking its entry.
The cave was about two meters wide and was likely the python monster’s lair. As long as it got inside, it would be safe, since the eagle was too large to enter.
The two monsters were deadlocked again. At this moment, several strange screeches, similar to the python monster’s, echoed from within the cave, though much weaker in volume, followed by even fainter wailing, like a baby’s cry muffled by a cloth.
The stalemate was broken again. The python monster suddenly went berserk, completely ignoring the eagle circling above, and charged straight for the cave entrance.
The eagle’s long-awaited opportunity had finally arrived. A sharp bird cry nearly tore Brian Carter’s eardrums as its four claws reached for the monster’s head. The python monster seemed to have completely forgotten the eagle’s threat and continued to charge toward the cave. When it was still about six meters from the entrance, the eagle’s four claws finally struck the back of the monster’s head—the same spot it had grabbed before.
But this time, the eagle didn’t let go after grabbing like before. Instead, it began to tear at the back of the monster’s head with its iron hook-like claws, causing even more blood to seep out.
The frenzied python monster used its barrel-like body to repeatedly slam against the eagle, but its body still slowly crawled toward the cave. By now, the eagle had torn open a gash dozens of centimeters long on the back of the monster’s head. At this moment, Brian Carter noticed a flash of dark purple-red light from the wound, and by that light, Brian Carter saw that the glow came from a dragon-eye-sized bead inside the monster’s wound.
Just then, the monster, in a final burst of strength, lashed its tail hard at the eagle, knocking the eagle’s four pairs of iron claws loose. The eagle’s massive body even lost balance in the air for a moment, flapping its wings forcefully a few times before regaining its composure.
By the time the eagle steadied itself and prepared to attack again, the python monster’s body had already completely slipped into the cave.
The eagle could only circle helplessly in the air, when suddenly an old man’s angry roar came from inside the cave: “Abomination, how dare you!”
