Chapter 0001: The Concubine’s Son of the Zhang Family

Wei Kingdom, Qinglin County, Qingsang City, Sanhe Town, Zhang Family.

The sky was cloudless, with colorful birds flying by from time to time. The grass by the river was lush and green, flowers bloomed everywhere—a place of blue skies and clear waters. William Clark gazed at the beautiful scenery around him, then tilted his head to look at the two suns in the sky, took a deep breath, and muttered to himself, “There’s a saying that there are never two suns in the sky, but right now there are two! Am I a person of the Wilds Continent, or an Earthling? Is this Zhuangzi dreaming of a butterfly, or a butterfly dreaming of Zhuangzi?”

At this, a trace of confusion appeared on William Clark’s face.

William Clark is twelve years old this year, a concubine’s son of the Zhang family in Sanhe Town. As a concubine’s son with poor talent, the family naturally didn’t pay him any attention, so William Clark became someone dispensable in the Zhang family, and the treatment he received was naturally poor. He basically got no pills or manuals for cultivation, and no one was willing to spend time guiding him.

Such poor treatment directly led to William Clark’s weak cultivation. Now, the other boys of his generation had already reached the second level of martial arts, and some exceptionally gifted ones had even reached the peak of the second level, ready to break through to the third at any time. But William Clark was still stuck at the first level, unable to advance, as if separated from the second level by a thin sheet of paper, but unable to break through.

To speed up his cultivation, William Clark had started gathering herbs in the mountains two years ago, exchanging them for a meager reward to buy pills for cultivation.

The life of gathering herbs was tough and dangerous. Half a month ago, while gathering herbs, William Clark was scratched by a poisonous plant. Although he immediately took an antidote pill, he was still unconscious for a whole day and night, nearly losing his life in the wilderness.

After waking up, William Clark was shocked to find a strange yet familiar set of memories in his mind. In these memories, he had lived for a long time on a planet called “Earth”—studying, playing games, watching TV, surfing the internet, falling in love, experiencing airplanes, cars, ships, and all sorts of incredible things, going through all the joys and sorrows of life, until he died unexpectedly.

The memories of Earth and those of the Wilds Continent clashed, influenced, and merged with each other, making William Clark feel like someone with split personality these past ten days—his head ached constantly, he had all sorts of hallucinations, and would occasionally blurt out a few words in Earth’s language.

This sudden influx of memories brought William Clark great pain, but also some benefits.

As the memories slowly merged, William Clark’s perspective and thinking changed dramatically. Outwardly, he was still a twelve-year-old boy, but inside, he was a mature adult with rich life experience. An air of calmness beyond his years unconsciously appeared in William Clark.

Besides this change in temperament, William Clark also felt his mind had become much sharper—things he couldn’t figure out before now became clear with a single thought.

Staring quietly at the clouds on the horizon, the confusion on William Clark’s face turned to determination. He swung his arm fiercely and said in a low voice, “Whether it’s Earth or the Wilds Continent, I am me, I am William Clark! Life on Earth in my memories was incredibly exciting, so in this real Wilds Continent, I will also make my life exciting! I want to become a martial artist admired by all! I want to reach the peak of martial arts, never to be constrained by anyone again!”

After shouting these words, William Clark felt his headache vanish, his whole body filled with an indescribable comfort, as if he had been reborn.

He vaguely realized that the suddenly awakened memories had already fused completely with his own, never to be separated again.

“Young master, young master!” Just as William Clark was about to digest the memories in his mind, a little maid in long sleeves ran over. William Clark glanced at her—this was Helen Clark, the maid who attended to his daily needs.

William Clark said slowly, “Helen Clark, what is it?”

Helen Clark had served William Clark since childhood and was very familiar with him. She vaguely felt that her young master seemed a bit different, but couldn’t quite say what had changed.
