Chapter 8

“Why don’t you dare?”

Facing Andrew Thompson’s provocation, William Grant narrowed his eyes and smiled faintly.

“William Grant, don’t be impulsive!”

The Fifth Elder, David Thompson, frowned.

In his view,

William Grant was only at the first level of the Body Tempering Realm, and it seemed he hadn’t even practiced any martial skills. How could he possibly be a match for Andrew Thompson, who was at the second level?

“Fine! William Grant, you’ve got guts.”

Andrew Thompson grinned smugly, looking as if his scheme had succeeded.

“Fifth Elder, please bear witness to our sparring, so the Ninth Elder won’t give me trouble afterward.”

Then, Andrew Thompson looked at David Thompson with a hint of respect.

“That’s right, Fifth Elder, please be our witness. I don’t want the Seventh Elder to give me trouble either.”

William Grant was not to be outdone.

If it were before, he might have been somewhat wary of Andrew Thompson at the second level of the Body Tempering Realm...

But after witnessing those overwhelming martial skills in the Martial Pavilion, he realized he had overestimated Andrew Thompson.

“This kid is too impulsive... Well, maybe a lesson will do him good.”

David Thompson frowned and glanced at William Grant, then stood up and walked outside the Martial Pavilion.

The passing disciples of the Li family all looked excited—there was a good show to watch!

On the open ground outside the Martial Pavilion, William Grant and Andrew Thompson stood facing each other.

David Thompson, as the witness, stood to the side.

“William Grant, the humiliation you gave me last time, I’ll pay you back tenfold today!”

Andrew Thompson’s face twisted into a ferocious grin, as if William Grant was already meat on his chopping block.

“We’ll see if you have what it takes.”

William Grant smiled.

“Courting death!”

Andrew Thompson flew into a rage, shouting explosively.

With a stomp, he shot forward like a tiger descending the mountain.

Tiger Fist!

Both fists swung out, stirring the air, striking straight at William Grant.

“That’s the Yellow-rank mid-grade martial skill, ‘Tiger Fist.’ Andrew Thompson is really impressive—his Tiger Fist is clearly at the minor accomplishment stage.”

“William Grant just entered the first level of Body Tempering, probably hasn’t even had time to practice martial skills, and yet he dares to accept Andrew Thompson’s challenge. He really isn’t afraid of death!”

“With the Fifth Elder as witness today, even if William Grant gets seriously injured like last time, as long as he doesn’t lose his life, no matter how angry the Ninth Elder gets, he can’t do anything to Andrew Thompson.”

...

The watching Li family disciples all discussed among themselves—none of them thought William Grant stood a chance.

After all, the gap between the first and second levels of Body Tempering was just too great.

“Tiger Fist? Looks more like Sick Cat Fist to me.”

William Grant’s lips curled into a trace of disdainful smile.

In his eyes, the martial skill Andrew Thompson was displaying was full of flaws—he had hundreds of ways to counter it.

In the end, he chose the most direct way.

Thud!

Under everyone’s gaze, William Grant also dashed forward to meet him.

Just as Andrew Thompson’s fists were about to land, William Grant bent his upper body backward at an incredible angle, dodging Andrew Thompson’s fists and slipping behind him.

“Now’s my chance!”

William Grant paused, twisting his body nimbly.

Clenching his right fist, he bent his upper body sharply backward, arms pulled back.

In an instant, William Grant’s whole body was like a powerful bow drawn to its limit, even his spine trembling.

With a flick, his upper body snapped forward, and his right fist shot out with the force of a collapsing mountain.

Collapse Fist!

William Grant deftly dodged Andrew Thompson’s Tiger Fist, and in the instant Andrew Thompson was carried forward by his own momentum, he smashed a heavy punch onto Andrew Thompson’s right shoulder.

Crack!

The sound of bone shattering rang out.

Andrew Thompson was sent flying, screaming like a pig being slaughtered.

Even though Andrew Thompson was twenty jin stronger than William Grant, now he couldn’t use any of it.

Boom!

Andrew Thompson’s body slammed hard into the ground, another scream bursting out as his body convulsed in pain.

Silence.

The scene was deathly still.

From the Fifth Elder David Thompson to every Li family disciple, all had their mouths agape, staring in disbelief at what had just happened.

The Collapse Fist William Grant had just used—

In their eyes, it was simply miraculous!

Chapter 5: Genius Martial Artist

“Was that a martial skill William Grant just used?”

“Didn’t look like a martial skill, just a straight punch. But the way he slid to dodge Andrew Thompson’s Tiger Fist, got behind him, and spun around to throw that punch—it all happened in a blink. I have no idea how he did it.”

“Are you kidding? With such a powerful move, how could it not be a martial skill? Just now, William Grant shattered Andrew Thompson’s shoulder bone with a single punch!”

...

The Li family disciples were all talking at once, completely unable to see through the Collapse Fist William Grant had just performed.

That punch looked simple, but its power was astonishing.

“His shoulder bone is completely crushed—Andrew Thompson’s arm is finished!”

After checking Andrew Thompson’s injuries, the Fifth Elder David Thompson drew a sharp breath, glancing at William Grant in shock.

A mere first-level Body Tempering martial artist could unleash such a terrifying attack.

After having a few Li family disciples carry Andrew Thompson away for treatment, David Thompson walked over to the calm and composed William Grant.

At this moment, he even had an illusion.
