Chapter 7

This is why Brian Carter felt that her sense of oppression was not as strong as he had imagined. To put it plainly, what he encountered was merely a wisp of willpower that had barely managed to break through the boundary between worlds.

Her divine sense returned to her body, and Henry Clark opened her eyes. The dazed look in her gaze gradually turned into a resolute light.

Not to mention that Brian Carter was dumbfounded at the time—even Henry Clark herself wasn’t exactly calm in that moment.

She saw a man in front of a strange glowing screen, tapping away at a bizarre square-shaped artifact. Characters appeared on the screen, revealing the innermost thoughts of her, Henry Clark.

The shock and confusion of that moment were beyond words.

This person was writing a story, and I am actually just... a character he made up in his story?

The whole world is just a book... so everything I’ve experienced, is it real or just an illusion?

Or is this what they call “the will of heaven is unfathomable”?

In the path of cultivation, there are indeed concepts like the Dao of Books and the Dao of Painting, and even the idea of creating one’s own universe. But since everyone here is just from the “lower realm,” no one has reached such a high level of cultivation, and no one has succeeded so far. Still, the concept exists, and as one of the top figures of her era, Henry Clark could easily understand it.

But when you yourself are a living being inside a book, the impact on your understanding and emotions is something only those who have experienced it can truly grasp.

  But it doesn’t matter...

What people fear most is the unknown. The will of heaven is the hardest thing to predict and resist. But since the truth has already been uncovered, there must be a way.

Relying on that so-called “creator god” who can’t even truss a chicken?

A little threat, and wouldn’t he be too scared to go against me?

By then, not only could I control my own fate, but I could achieve even more.

Sure enough, after returning, the image of that disciple in her mind became even more blurred. That “creator god” really didn’t dare go against her wishes and was probably trying to cut off this nonsensical red string, right?

The key issue now was that her recent breakthrough between worlds was somewhat accidental. The most urgent thing was to find a way to break through at will and to stay outside for long periods.

When that time comes, she could let her own world be woven as it may, or venture out to explore the myriad heavens. The universe is vast and boundless—what couldn’t be accomplished?

Falling for a disciple? What a joke! How could that possibly be my future?

It could never be the choice of me, Henry Clark.

If I really had to find a man, it should be the father god of creation!

This train of thought flowed so smoothly that Henry Clark didn’t even notice anything wrong at first. Only after a while did she realize—how could I possibly think like that?

Henry Clark’s heart skipped a beat, and her eyes slowly widened.

He wrote this? He actually dared to write this!

Chapter Five: The Difficult Road Ahead

Henry Clark was so furious she almost blew up her meditation chamber, but at the moment she really couldn’t break through the boundary again.

“Someone come!” Her voice, filled with anger, echoed faintly through the sect’s mountains: “Go to the sect’s secret vault, fetch the Xuanwu Phosphorus Crystal, the Chaotic Void Shuttle, and summon the Grand Array of Heaven and Earth’s Lost Return!”

The sect elders turned pale with fright: “Sect Master, are you—are you going to undergo tribulation? It’s not time yet!”

Henry Clark gnashed her teeth: “Why isn’t it time? I am going to undergo tribulation!”

  Isn’t it all just ascension?

Is there really a difference between the immortal realm and that strange world with the square-typing artifact?

While Henry Clark was making intense preparations to break through the boundary, that night Brian Carter naturally couldn’t sleep.

He didn’t know whether, now that Henry Clark had “seen through reality,” his writing could still influence her thoughts.

Whether it could or not, she would probably find out anyway, right?

Just sending out that chapter felt like opening Pandora’s box—nervous and excited at the same time. He kept feeling like Henry Clark would burst out in a rage and come to kill him, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.

Every time a night breeze blew by, he wondered if Henry Clark had appeared, breaking out in a cold sweat as he looked around—only to find nothing.

Thank goodness, it seemed she couldn’t come out at any moment, or he’d be done for!

By two in the morning, he really couldn’t stay in bed, so he got up to keep writing.

He’d rushed to publish the last chapter, hadn’t even checked for typos, and completely forgot to promote David Bolton’s chapter. David Bolton was going live at noon today, and as a friend, it was only right to help boost him. It’d be best to publish another chapter in the morning and promote David Bolton at the end.

But after turning on the computer, he just sat there in a daze, his mind a complete mess, with no idea how to continue the story.

The whole outline had collapsed—how was he supposed to write anything now?

Brian Carter hesitated for a moment and opened the book review section. He hadn’t dared look before, thinking the female lead’s sudden change of heart would get him flamed, but when he checked, he was stunned.

The review section was actually full of positive comments... but this kind of praise made Brian Carter feel a bit uncomfortable.

“This is how it should be! A woman like Henry Clark falling for a low-level disciple—I thought her character was ruined, but thank goodness, it’s been pulled back.”

“That’s right, our harem can’t open up that quickly. The slow conquest is what makes it interesting.”
