No one knows exactly how much money this family has, but everyone knows that with just a single word from them, the entire financial system of the Federation would tremble.
"I didn't expect you to come from the illustrious Rothschild family. I've heard so much about you," Brian Carter said calmly.
"Heh, it's the Federation now. The good days of the Rothschild family are over. Look at those cosmic superpowers, those super clans—we can't even compare to them. We're just a bunch of frogs at the bottom of a well," Andrew said, somewhat dejected.
The impact of alien civilizations on Earth's original order could only be described as earth-shattering. Those once-great corporations and families were nothing more than ants in the eyes of the powerful alien civilizations.
Now, everyone on Earth felt a deep sense of crisis. Suddenly, there were so many unimaginably powerful neighbors—no one could feel at ease.
"You can't say that. They only became what they are today after hundreds of thousands or even millions of years of development. Earth is still young. If we had the same amount of time, we might not be any worse than them," Brian Carter comforted him.
"Let's hope so. It's good for young people to have drive. At my age, I just want to live out my twilight years in peace. What are you going to New York for?"
"I'm going to the Endaro System Bank to take care of some things," Brian Carter said.
Andrew's eyes flashed. "Endaro System Bank? Forgive my boldness, but that bank doesn't handle Federation currency. Could it be..."
Brian Carter smiled slightly. "It's nothing, really. I have a little over a thousand star coins deposited there. I want to exchange them for Federation dollars."
Andrew looked very excited. He perked up, his plump body leaning toward Brian Carter.
"Could you exchange your star coins with us?" Andrew asked eagerly.
"I know this might be a bit presumptuous, but this is very important to me, to my family, and to the entire Earth Federation..."
Before Andrew could finish, a burly middle-aged man suddenly stood up in the cabin and walked to the center, facing everyone.
The burly man suddenly tore open his black leather jacket, revealing a row of things that looked very much like bombs, as well as his thick chest hair.
"Nobody move! If anyone tries anything, I'll detonate the bomb and send you all to meet your maker!"
Chapter 0009: Hijacking
Chaos erupted in the cabin. A middle-aged woman in her forties screamed for a moment and then suddenly fainted.
At this moment, another hijacker stood up. He looked to be just over twenty, dressed in a gray suit with a tie. His face was a bit pale, his thin lips curled in a half-smile, and his long bangs covered half of one eye. His hand was wrapped in a white bandage.
"As long as you follow my instructions, I guarantee you'll all leave here alive," the pale young man said coldly.
His eyes turned to Brian Carter's row. "Andrew sir, please hand over the case in your hand. Don't let a moment of recklessness cost everyone their lives."
The people around all looked at Andrew, hoping he would quickly hand over the item so the hijackers would leave.
Andrew gritted his teeth and raised his left hand high. "I don't have the key."
The pale young man chuckled. "That's all right. There are always ways."
He signaled to the burly man, who nodded and slipped into the crew area. Soon, he came out holding a fruit knife.
The pale young man took the knife, weighed it in his hand a few times. Though small, it was of good quality and felt heavy in his hand. "Andrew sir, this might hurt a bit. Please bear with it."
What a vicious method—they were actually going to cut off someone's wrist!
The woman who had just fainted slowly came to. The moment she saw the gleaming knife in the young man's hand, she whimpered and fainted again in her seat.
Brian Carter's eyes swept around and he noticed a man in his thirties acting strangely.
The man was tall and sturdy, with a broad jaw and a resolute face. He had a shaved head and stared intently at the two hijackers.
One foot was forward, the other braced firmly on the floor. The muscles on his thick thighs were taut, like a fierce tiger ready to pounce on its prey.
"Is he planning to attack?!" Brian Carter was shocked and quickly looked away, deliberately avoiding any attention.
This Airbus A380 carried at least over three hundred passengers. Without absolute certainty, no one could act rashly. If the hijackers panicked and detonated the bomb, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Andrew stood up shakily, carrying the safe toward the two hijackers. "I agree to your terms. Just please spare the other passengers."
The young hijacker put both hands in his pockets, expressionless. The other hijacker laughed loudly. "Old man, you know what's good for you. Our Seventh Young Master always keeps his word."
Suddenly, the bald man moved!
With a powerful push off the floor, his body shot up—lunging straight at the hijacker with the bomb!
"This guy is way too reckless! Damn it, let's go all out!"
