Beastmasters who have mastered the methods of evolution can elevate the racial level of their own contracted beasts, allowing them to awaken even stronger racial skills.
Among these three aspects, the first is the beastmaster’s own development of their abilities.
The second and third are the accumulation of the beastmaster’s knowledge and experience.
As for William Carter's skill compendium, it’s almost equivalent to him mastering a vast number of skill manuals.
Skill compendium...
Is this... a system? Or is it his second beastmaster talent?
Compared to the illusory concept of a system, William Carter would rather believe it’s his own second talent.
But isn’t his beastmaster talent telepathy?
And he’s never heard of such a cheat-level beastmaster talent before.
Nor has he ever heard of anyone possessing two beastmaster talents...
William Carter’s emotions surged within.
In just a second, he imagined countless possibilities.
But if it’s him, maybe it’s possible?
As a transmigrator, he wasn’t a normal person to begin with.
William Carter has the telepathy talent—what does that have to do with me, William Carter? If I, William Carter, have another copying talent, that’s perfectly scientific too.
“In any case, calm down first—”
No matter how you look at it, this is a good thing. This seems to be his transmigrator’s golden finger...
From shock to joy, William Carter finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Ever since he first realized he had transmigrated, he’d always felt uneasy, like something was missing. Now, he finally felt comfortable. The happiness of a transmigrator is just this simple and unadorned.
“Crap, it’s getting late.”
After immersing himself for a while in the shock of awakening the skill compendium, William Carter suddenly realized it was already very late.
He quickly got dressed, ready to head out for his morning work—he didn’t even plan to eat breakfast. Of course, at this moment, William Carter wasn’t actually thinking about work, but wanted to try out whether the ability he’d just awakened was real.
With anticipation, William Carter quickly left the dormitory.
...
The Icefield City Pet Beast Breeding Base covers a vast area, with environments including lakes, grasslands, forests, and snowy mountains... all habitats for different pet beasts.
To take care of so many pet beasts, the base employs quite a few staff. Nearby, there’s a huge staff area, and all kinds of pet beast feed are processed and transported here as well.
Inside the base’s feed factory, a large number of breeders are currently gathered. However, due to different task assignments, most people don’t interact much at the moment.
After arriving here, William Carter went to look for the feed he needed to transport. His goal was clear, but once he got the feed, its specifications far exceeded William Carter’s expectations.
“No wonder ordinary people can’t be beastmasters. These pet beasts eat better than humans.”
As William Carter carried two heavy refrigerated boxes out, he couldn’t help but think.
Inside the boxes was layer upon layer of fresh beast meat—at least seven or eight different kinds, clearly a specially balanced nutritious meal.
There was a whole pile of such boxes in the room, all breakfast for the snow wolf pack he was about to feed.
“William Carter?”
“Are you going to feed the snow wolves?”
As William Carter was making trip after trip carrying the meat, someone noticed the type of feed he was moving and suddenly stopped to joke, “That bunch isn’t friendly—be careful.”
“But honestly, our base’s infirmary is pretty reliable...”
“Don’t listen to his nonsense. With the wolf king around, there’s no danger at all,” someone else reassured William Carter.
“Just kidding, just kidding. We’re done moving—do you need any help?” the first person asked again.
Looking at the two of them, William Carter felt sorry that he had absolutely no memory of them, so he could only respond with an awkward yet polite smile: “Thanks, but no need. I’m almost done myself.”
After that, the three didn’t continue chatting—after all, everyone still had work to do.
After they left, William Carter remembered: his predecessor, due to family circumstances, had a personality that preferred solitude and disliked interacting with people. So he hadn’t made friends right away in the new work environment, nor had he integrated into any of the small groups—he always kept to himself, so his social skills were quite lacking.
No wonder, even though they were all interns, he barely had any impression of the others—not even their names... but he did remember quite a lot about the pet beasts at the base.
William Carter shook his head. For now, this wasn’t a bad thing. Better to keep it this way for the time being. But a telepathy talent with social anxiety—he really was something...
Anyway, the most important thing right now was to slowly get familiar with this world. Socializing could wait.
After finally spending some time moving a whole cart of meat feed, William Carter started up the transport vehicle and headed alone to a certain snowy mountain area—the habitat of the snow wolves.
Upon arrival, he parked, got out, and started unloading the meat. William Carter quickly got to work.
During this process, white shadows flashed across the distant snowy mountains, and the figures of dozens of giant wolves appeared.
“Awooo!!!~~~~~”
“Awooo!!!~~~~~”
A bone-chilling sound rang out. Accompanied by the howls of wolves, the snow-white giant wolves on the mountain all started running this way. At first, they moved quickly, but gradually slowed to a walk.
Even walking, though, they exuded an overwhelming sense of pressure.
