Chapter 15

Now, the third son James Walker has made a grave mistake, his martial arts have been crippled, bringing great disaster upon the family. The eldest and second sons have been poisoned by Shadow Poison and will suffer for life. Their descendants are essentially ruined.

This series of misfortunes made many people feel secretly delighted. After all, with the head of the family fallen, their own chances increased greatly.

“Who? Who said the word ‘trash’? Step forward!” In James Walker’s ears, he could hear even ants fighting. Although that young man’s voice was very soft, he still caught it. It was a tall young man standing behind John Walker, John Walker’s son, Matthew Walker.

This tall young man was twenty-six years old, with a cultivation in internal energy that had already reached the Explosive Qi stage. He had entered the Explosive Qi stage at twenty-four, and now, after two years of cultivation, his foundation was even deeper.

Originally, he was very wary of James Walker, because if nothing unexpected happened, James Walker could have reached the Explosive Qi stage before the age of twenty.

Hearing James Walker’s accusation, he sneered coldly, stepped forward, looked down with contempt, and said, “So what? I said it. Aren’t you all trash? Look, two are heavily poisoned and will suffer for life, and you—your qi sea is destroyed, you’re a cripple. Worse than trash. You’ve disgraced our Yang family.”

  “Is that so?”

James Walker said calmly, “Matthew Walker, you call me trash, then let’s compete and see who’s really the trash?”

“Qi’er, this is not the time for you to show off. Come back.” David Walker beckoned with his hand.

“David Walker brother, the younger generation bickering, as the head of the family, you don’t need to interfere, do you? Your son is already a criminal, yet he’s still so stubborn. I wonder what he’s relying on?” John Walker stood up.

“Father, I know what I’m doing.” James Walker’s eyes flashed.

David Walker looked at his son, and a look of surprise and delight flashed in his eyes, as if he had sensed something.

“How do you want to compete? Your martial arts are completely crippled now. I could crush you with one finger. Even if you weren’t crippled, you wouldn’t be my match.” Matthew Walker clapped his hands. “But since you insist on seeking death, I’ll oblige you. In front of so many people, I’m not the one making the first move—you’re the one asking for it.”

“That’s right, Matthew Walker, go ahead and show him.” A young man even whistled, egging them on: “Maybe James Walker thinks his internal energy hasn’t been crippled yet, still living in a dream.”

“Wake him up, make him see reality.”

“This James Walker reached the peak of the fourth stage of Qi Refining at eighteen, which is impressive, but now his martial arts are completely crippled, yet he’s still so arrogant. If he doesn’t get taught a lesson, he won’t know his place and might get himself killed by someone else in the future.” …

Some of the young disciples of the Yang family burst out laughing.

“Who’s seeking death? Just make a move and we’ll see.”

James Walker stood with his hands behind his back, looking around, not at all like someone whose martial arts had been crippled: “I’ve remembered all of you who laughed the loudest. Didn’t you want a competition among the younger generation? We can start right now. I’d like to see if you’ll still be laughing.”

  “Such arrogance.”

Matthew Walker’s pupils contracted, and suddenly waves of cold energy burst from his body. With a sweep of his five fingers, the cold energy formed a net, enveloping James Walker from above.

  “Heavenly Net of Cold!”

This was a Yang family internal energy technique, a move from the Ice Force. Once unleashed, the energy formed a net, and anyone caught would have their meridians pierced by the biting cold, their whole body freezing stiff.

At the very instant the energy was about to strike, James Walker moved.

With that movement, all the muscles in his body leapt, exploding inch by inch, as if an ancient beast had come back to life. A fierce and evil aura made everyone feel suffocated—this was the will of a demon god from ancient hell.

  Boom!

With a shake of his body, the invisible net of ice energy was shattered and blown apart. James Walker’s figure flashed and disappeared, almost shrinking the ground to an inch, and in the next blink, he appeared in front of Matthew Walker and threw a punch.

His steps were like a giant elephant stomping the ground, making the entire conference hall tremble. The pillars, thick enough for several people to embrace, creaked, and dust fell from the beams.

This punch was like an explosion out of nowhere, its power unparalleled.

Matthew Walker’s face changed dramatically. In a split second, he circulated his ice energy to defend, crossing his arms in front of his chest and shouting, “Iron Chains Across the River!”

But just as he finished shouting, he took a punch and was sent flying, tracing a parabola as he was blasted out of the hall. Both arms were broken, and he spat a mouthful of blood.

With a thud, he crashed onto the stone slabs outside, half-dead, staring at James Walker with wide eyes. He hadn’t even managed to say the word “you” before passing out.

One punch—just one punch—and Matthew Walker, at the fifth stage of the Explosive Qi realm, was beaten half to death. Even when facing a sixth-stage expert, he wouldn’t have been so helpless; at least he could have resisted a few moves.

  “What?!”

John Walker felt as if he’d been stabbed by a needle. With a squeeze of his hand, the chair beneath him shattered. He stared hard at James Walker, then shot out, picked up Matthew Walker, and poured streams of true energy into his son’s body.
