Chapter 20

Peter Thompson couldn't help but marvel at how good the living conditions were for people in the city. The three girls seemed to be about the same age as Lucy Spencer, and each one, like Lucy Spencer, was like a flower bud just beginning to bloom, starting to exude an alluring fragrance.

The water and soil of Jiangnan had nourished these three girls, making them all look fresh and radiant, giving people a sense of surprise at first glance.

The three of them were clearly very surprised that there was a man in Lucy Spencer's house, and not just any man, but one who looked clean and exuded a masculine aura!

What girl doesn't have a heart full of longing? If Peter Thompson weren't Lucy Spencer's tutor, Lucy Spencer would probably be quite happy to spend time with a guy like Peter Thompson—knowledgeable, clean, steady, and sunny. At the very least, she wouldn't dislike him!

She disliked Peter Thompson only because he was the tutor her parents had hired to discipline her.

But Peter Thompson wasn't the tutor for these three girls, so as soon as they saw Peter Thompson's military-straight posture, their eyes immediately lit up.

Chapter Fourteen: A Girl's Curiosity

"Xuanxuan, who is he?" Linda Taylor whispered in Lucy Spencer's ear, but her eyes kept sneaking glances at Peter Thompson.

Linda Taylor was the most physically developed among the four girls. Even though she wore a loose T-shirt, it couldn't hide her already somewhat full chest. Maybe because of this, she became interested in matters between boys and girls earlier than others, which led her to enjoy hanging out with handsome boys—in plain terms, she was a bit of a fangirl.

Peter Thompson wasn't exactly handsome, but he definitely couldn't be called ugly. Plus, thanks to his martial arts training, his whole body was streamlined, about 1.75 meters tall, with a perfectly proportioned figure full of masculine energy. At twenty-three, he was naturally more mature and attractive than sixteen- or seventeen-year-old boys.

You could say that just his appearance alone gave Peter Thompson a certain lethal appeal to girls.

The other two girls—one quieter, named Jane Turner, and one even taller than Lucy Spencer, named Wendy Hughes—were all Lucy Spencer's classmates from junior high.

When the other two girls heard Linda Taylor's question, they both snuck a glance at Peter Thompson, then waited curiously for Lucy Spencer's answer.

"He's the tutor my dad hired for me," Lucy Spencer said, feeling rather embarrassed.

"Oh my god! Your parents are so open-minded, actually hiring a male tutor for you! If my parents did that, I'd be over the moon!" Linda Taylor whispered in amazement, her face full of envy.

Lucy Spencer almost fainted. This Linda Taylor was getting more and more outrageous.

But when she looked up, she saw that even the usually quiet Jane Turner had an envious look on her face. Although it was subtle, Lucy Spencer still noticed it.

"You three hopeless fangirls, it's so annoying!" Lucy Spencer muttered under her breath.

"You silly girl, you don't know how lucky you are. I just love this big-brother type of tutor, but my dad would never hire one for me," Linda Taylor said jealously.

"Yeah!" Jane Turner and Wendy Hughes both nodded in agreement.

Lucy Spencer was confused. Were these really her best friends? Was she really so lucky and just didn't realize it?

Peter Thompson came out of the study, originally intending to greet Lucy Spencer's classmates, but as soon as the three girls came in, they kept sneaking beautiful glances at him, whispering with Lucy Spencer at the doorway.

Although their voices were very low—so low they thought Peter Thompson, standing six or seven meters away, couldn't possibly hear them—the problem was that Peter Thompson wasn't an ordinary person. He was a martial arts expert and could hear everything clearly.

Although Peter Thompson still wore a smile on his face, he was already feeling both amused and helpless inside. Was he out of touch? Or did he just not understand girls at all? Were girls really like this these days?

Peter Thompson didn't want to keep listening to their conversation. Even though they didn't know he could hear them, Peter Thompson still felt a bit awkward.

"Hello, my name is Peter Thompson. You must be Xiaoxuan's classmates!" Peter Thompson greeted them graciously.

A man's charm is never just about his looks. True charm comes from the aura and depth he exudes.

Peter Thompson had been independent since childhood, enduring hardships and gaining life experience far beyond his peers. All of this became part of his inner charm. One look at him, and you could tell he was a steady, responsible person—nothing like those frivolous pretty boys. Coupled with his sunny, healthy appearance, he had a unique personal charisma. Even someone as experienced in officialdom as Mr. Spencer was moved by him.

Because of her adolescent rebellion, Lucy Spencer couldn't accept her parents' arrangement for a tutor, and so she failed to notice Peter Thompson's charm.

"#$@%, hello, Teacher Li!" The three girls, probably greeting a male tutor for the first time, were a bit flustered, their pretty faces blushing pink, looking very cute.

"My name is Linda Taylor!" Linda Taylor was the first to regain her composure, introducing herself sweetly, her eyes still sneaking glances at this comfortable-looking Teacher Li.

"My name is Jane Turner."

"My name is Wendy Hughes!"

Although Peter Thompson had endured all kinds of hardships, he had never experienced being the focus of so many girls' gazes—especially when each of them radiated the charm of youth.

Peter Thompson felt a little dizzy.
