Chapter 3

The surface of the Yuan River was vast and wide. The name Qingyuan City originated from the Yuan River itself. Quentin Harper surfaced on the other side of the river; even if Phoebe Norton and the others wanted to wipe him out completely, separated by the river, they were powerless to do anything but watch.

After coming ashore, Quentin Harper did not return to Qingyuan Academy, but instead went to his own residence.

Brian Norton was arrogant and domineering, but in Qingyuan City, he could not cover the sky with one hand—at the very least, he did not dare to make a move against him in broad daylight.

“My injuries are severe, my meridians are all severed. If I want to heal my meridians and resume cultivation, I must at least purchase a Unity Spirit Pill.”

Quentin Harper sensed his own body.

All his meridians had been shattered by Phoebe Norton, making it impossible to channel true qi—this was almost equivalent to cutting off his path of cultivation.

Therefore, healing his injuries became his top priority.

Snow Sword Manor...

He had already sent out the message, but he did not believe that Snow Sword Manor would be willing to provide a Unity Spirit Pill to heal his wounds.

“The Unity Spirit Pill is worth a thousand gold...”

Quentin Harper fell silent.

Gathering a thousand gold was unimaginably difficult.

But...

He, Ye Qingfeng, now as Quentin Harper, in pursuit of cultivation, had pushed open the door to the ultimate truth, crossing the sea of stars without hesitation, traversing from the end-of-dharma era Earth across the cosmos to descend into this world. The process—how could it be described as anything less than a thousand deaths and a single life!?

The Great Dao is without trace; it cannot make him hide his sword and dull his edge.

The end of dharma in heaven and earth cannot make him halt his steps.

The vast sea of stars is even less able to stop his search for truth and the Dao.

Let alone these mere injuries before him.

The Unity Spirit Pill is worth a thousand gold.

But as long as he could reopen the door to cultivation, even if he wasted half his life, he would have no regrets in his heart!

“Quentin Harper’s original cultivation was at the peak of the third level of True Refinement. If he went to the Swordsman Guild as an instructor, earning ten gold coins a month would be no problem. But now, with all my meridians severed, even with exquisite swordsmanship, in this world where true qi determines status, I fear no swordsmanship guild would be willing to take me...”

Quentin Harper pondered for a moment.

In the end, his gaze fell upon mathematics.

The original Quentin Harper had a fondness for mathematics and was quite proficient at it, even serving as the vice president of a mathematics club.

The mathematics club earned income by solving mathematical problems for others.

Moreover, mathematics and swordsmanship were unrelated, which could lower Brian Norton’s guard against him.

At present, he did not have the strength to confront Phoebe Norton.

“Brian Norton, Phoebe Norton...”

Quentin Harper silently recited these two names.

Chapter One: The Severed Spirit Pill

“Quentin Harper, you’d better behave yourself when the time comes. If you dare to act rudely, your life will be forfeit.”

Outside an exquisitely decorated courtyard, a young girl in a bright red dress spoke harshly, her tone overbearing and aggressive.

Behind her, Quentin Harper’s expression was calm and silent.

Yet he still stood tall and straight.

Life was hard!

But that was no reason for him to bow and scrape.

“If you weren’t the only one in all of Qingyuan City who could be called a master of mathematics, I wouldn’t have come to you.”

The girl spoke harshly.

In just half a month, Quentin Harper had made a name for himself in Qingyuan City through his mathematical skills.

Brian Norton wanted to utterly destroy Quentin Harper, but Quentin Harper kept a low profile, never giving him the chance, so he could only try other ways to strike at Quentin Harper.

He even claimed to the public that Quentin Harper had ambushed him and that he had broken Quentin Harper’s meridians, slandering him to the utmost.

As a result, this first swordsman of Qingyuan Academy had abandoned the sword to study mathematics, and naturally, countless people looked down on him and took pleasure in his misfortune. His reputation and popularity plummeted.

But Quentin Harper merely watched all this coldly.

History has always been written by the victors.

“There’s someone inside whom even I can’t afford to offend, so don’t cause any trouble for me.”

The girl gave another stern warning, then finally pushed open the courtyard gate and led Quentin Harper inside.

Within the courtyard, there were small bridges and flowing water, lush green grass, and exotic flowers in full bloom. On one side of the stream, drawn from living water, stood a pavilion beneath a centuries-old tree. Sunlight, like scattered stars, filtered through the leaves, filling the place with an air of leisure and elegance.

“Miss Lynn, I’ve brought the person you asked for.”

After entering the courtyard, the girl immediately shed her previous arrogance, her face breaking into a sweet smile as she quickly made her way to the pavilion.

Inside the pavilion, a woman in flowing white robes, her long hair draped over her shoulders, sat quietly on a sandalwood chair covered with sable fur, her brows furrowed in thought.

Although she wore a white veil because of outsiders, the ethereal brilliance in her star-like eyes made anyone feel inferior in her presence.

This was a woman with an almost immortal aura.

“Thank you, Evelyn.”

The woman in white stood up, thanked her, and then nodded slightly to Quentin Harper. “Thank you for your trouble.”

Quentin Harper nodded at the woman in white, stepped forward, and was about to enter the pavilion.

State his name?

With such a vast difference in status, what did it matter whether they knew each other’s names?

“Wait!”

Just as Quentin Harper was about to step onto the pavilion steps, a female swordsman behind the woman in white, wearing a heroic outfit and a sword at her waist, suddenly spoke.

“Hand over all sharp objects and metal weapons on your person.”
