Chapter 8

“Ah... my butt—” Ian Grant had just landed, and without caring about the pain in front of him, the knife-like pain on his butt made him spring up like a coil, flipping over to lie face-down on the ground.

His butt stuck high in the air, limbs sprawled on the ground—Ian Grant's current posture was extremely indecent. The few youths, stunned by Chad Grant's sudden kick, couldn't help but burst into laughter when they saw Ian Grant's appearance.

Ian Grant's face flushed as red as pig liver. He quickly got up; now not only did his butt hurt, but his lower abdomen, which had taken a kick from Chad Grant, also ached faintly.

In front of everyone, he had actually been kicked upside down by Chad Grant, who was only at the second level of the acquired stage. The anger in Ian Grant's heart was beyond measure. He never expected Chad Grant would dare to kick him first. He thought he had just been careless and got ambushed by Chad Grant, never considering that Chad Grant's strength had already increased.

He couldn't possibly lose to Chad Grant? That was something Ian Grant would never believe, not even in death.

Sensing Ian Grant's fury, the two who had just laughed hurriedly stifled their laughter. Chad Grant kicking Ian Grant, who was at the fifth level of the acquired stage, flying had surprised them all. For a moment, they were at a loss and didn't dare to make a move against Chad Grant.

Besides, in their eyes, Chad Grant was just a good-for-nothing. If they wanted to teach him a lesson, they wouldn't all gang up at once, but would go one by one. Ganging up would mean several people beating up Chad Grant alone, which would make them feel inferior to Chad Grant—a disgrace. Taking turns, on the other hand, was considered a one-on-one duel. Beating up Chad Grant in a duel would prove they were stronger than him, giving them confidence.

Although this way of thinking was ridiculous and was clearly bullying Chad Grant, it actually made sense. No matter what people do, even if it's something bad, they always have to find a justifiable reason for themselves. Only then can they feel at ease.

“You useless trash, how dare you hit me? Didn't your useless father ever teach you... Ow!”

Ian Grant pointed at Chad Grant and cursed, his words again showing disrespect to Colin Grant. Chad Grant's right hand immediately slapped over. This time, Ian Grant was prepared and raised his hand to block on the right, but saw a blur on the left. With a crisp 'smack', a blood-red handprint appeared on Ian Grant's left cheek, showing just how hard Chad Grant had slapped him.

“Chad Grant, what do you think you're doing...?” Several youths around cried out in shock. Seeing Chad Grant actually slap Ian Grant in the face, their voices were fierce, but their bodies all took a step back.

After taking that slap, Ian Grant's left eye hurt so much it teared up. Before he could react, there was another crisp 'smack'—his right cheek was now burning with pain, and a bright red handprint appeared in an instant.

These slaps made tears stream from both of Ian Grant's eyes. The surrounding youths were all dumbfounded. The usually honest and meek Chad Grant actually dared to hit someone, and it was the second elder's grandson Ian Grant he hit—two slaps in a row! Someone pinched themselves—was this a dream?

“You little bastard...” After two slaps, Ian Grant snapped out of the burning pain on both cheeks, his eyes red with rage. He immediately struck out with both palms at Chad Grant's chest.

Rock-Solid Palm... the Gu family technique that Ian Grant practiced. In the clan competition, Chad Grant had been seriously injured by this very move from Ian Grant.

As Ian Grant struck out, tears still hung on his face, but some of his former flair returned. The youths beside him seemed to see Chad Grant being hit in the chest, falling back and vomiting blood.

Chad Grant stepped to the right. It looked slow, but Ian Grant's double palms just brushed past Chad Grant's chest, missing completely. The surrounding youths rubbed their eyes. If Ian Grant suddenly used the Rock-Solid Palm on them, they would have a hard time dodging, yet Chad Grant had avoided it as if he were just taking a stroll?

A crisp 'smack' rang out, and Ian Grant let out another miserable cry as his right cheek took another slap from Chad Grant. Ian Grant's head swung left with the force, and then, as a hand suddenly grew larger before his eyes, Chad Grant's right hand backhanded another slap. Another scream, 'smack'—his left cheek was slapped again.

This time, Chad Grant's backhand was extremely forceful. Ian Grant only felt his head buzz, not even sure how many times his body spun with the slap, then his legs tangled and he fell backward, landing on his butt again with a miserable cry.

“Ian Grant, today you insulted my father twice. Two slaps for each insult—just four slaps to show you that insulting your elders is a bad habit. You'd better remember that.” Chad Grant finished speaking and turned to walk out of the Gu family compound. None of the surrounding youths dared to block him.

“Chad Grant, I'll tell my father and my grandfather about this today. I'll have both of you—both of you driven out of the Gu family!” Ian Grant's threat came from behind, but he no longer dared to mention the word 'bastard'.

Chad Grant paid no attention and walked straight out of Ian Grant and the others' sight, never looking back.
