Chapter 7

Little Brian was spacing out, staring at Little Jason who was also spacing out.

"Big sister, look, it's done, don't be angry anymore." Little Jason spoke very slowly, pausing to think after each sentence, trying hard to express himself.

Little Brian was used to this; he had always spoken this way.

Coincidence, it must be a coincidence.

Little Brian looked at the completed puzzle, hardly able to believe it. First, she couldn't believe her silly little brother could finish it, and second, she couldn't believe she was worse than her own brother—how could she, as the older sister, keep her dignity?

"I'm not angry, little brother. Let's play again." Little Brian smiled, then broke up the completed puzzle again, wanting to see if this was really just a coincidence.

Little Jason glanced at Little Brian, then squatted down and continued working on the puzzle. As the puzzle was slowly put back together, Little Brian's mouth opened wider and wider in shock.

"Mom, mom, something amazing happened, little brother he..." At this moment, Little Brian immediately ran off to report to Angela Long.

As a result, this incident caused quite a stir in the entire Ye family—a small commotion. Everyone discovered that Little Jason had an extraordinary memory, almost photographic.

This conclusion was only reached after many different tests—a rather unbelievable conclusion.

In terms of intelligence, Little Jason was still unsatisfactory, still not at the level expected for his age, but his memory put even adults to shame.

Is this the legendary genius and idiot in one?

Perhaps so, or perhaps Little Jason was missing something, preventing him from properly and reasonably using his abilities.

Chapter 5 The Earth is Round!

Soon, the commotion about Little Jason's memory gradually faded away. After all, a person's memory can't make up for certain shortcomings.

Now, something else had taken its place.

At this time, Little Jason was at a major crossroads in his life: deciding how he should develop in the future, what kind of nominal profession he should have—scholar, civil official, or something else.

As for why it was a nominal profession, the reason was simple: no one really thought Little Jason would take on a real job, nor would they let him. They just needed a title, something that sounded good. To put it even more simply, it was a matter of face.

Of course, this decision was up to his parents, and it was a particularly troublesome issue for Mr. and Mrs. Ethan York. They didn't know how to handle it.

Given Little Jason's memory, making him a well-read scholar wouldn't be difficult, even if he couldn't necessarily tell others what knowledge he had.

But for Mr. and Mrs. Ethan York, they didn't need him to tell others anything, so they invited a famous scholar to teach Little Jason.

And so, something strange happened. After teaching for a while, the scholar immediately submitted his resignation to Mr. and Mrs. Ethan York, asking them to find someone more capable, saying he was not up to the task of teaching Little Jason.

At first, the couple thought it was because Little Jason was too dull, a hopeless case, and the scholar couldn't do anything with him, so they invited another, also a very famous scholar.

This time, it was even faster. In less than three days, the scholar made the same request, asking the Ye family to find someone else.

This continued with several more scholars, none of whom could stick it out, and the time each lasted grew shorter and shorter. The last one only lasted half a day, leaving with a look of terror, seemingly on the verge of collapse, and said one sentence to the couple:

Your son is a prodigy beyond compare. I cannot teach him; perhaps only a god could.

This made Mr. and Mrs. Ethan York realize something was wrong. No matter how dull he was, all these scholars had known the situation before coming, so they should have had countermeasures. They shouldn't have quit in less than half a day.

Besides, under normal circumstances, the later scholars should have been more capable and lasted longer, so why was it the opposite?

With this confusion, Mr. and Mrs. Ethan York went to coax and question Little Jason, wanting to know what had happened between him and the scholars to make them act so strangely.

They had no idea until they asked. Once they got the answer, Mr. and Mrs. Ethan York immediately gave up on inviting more scholars, and also stopped requiring Little Jason to become a nominal scholar.

  ……

"Young master Thirteen, today let's first learn about the origin of the continent. Before the Age of Gods, there were no living beings on earth. The gods descended to this world, gave life to the land, and created our human race, elves, dwarves, beastmen, and other intelligent beings."

"And among the many races, our human race is the closest to the gods, because the gods created us in their own image. So among all the races, we are the most intelligent..."
