Chapter 6

If Simon Harris saw his son's cleverness at this moment, he would surely be overjoyed and sigh with relief that there is someone to carry on the family line. This trick of shifting the blame was a true masterpiece of officialdom, executed to perfection. Among these children, Mark Brooks was the biggest. He had come with his father to deliver gifts; his father told him to play with the provincial party secretary's son to build a relationship, so he came along. Although he didn't know how to build a relationship, he didn't dare disobey Henry Harris's words, so he timidly stepped forward.

Seeing how cunning the little chubby boy was, Little Lily naturally wouldn't fall for it and shouted loudly, "Shame on you! Henry Harris, come out and fight me yourself."

"Why should I fight you? I'm supposed to fight James Parker!"

"If you want to fight James Parker, you have to fight me too!"

"I won't! Why can you stand in for James Parker, but I can't have someone stand in for me?" The chubby boy stubbornly refused to step forward.

"I've always stood in for James Parker, because you guys always bully him!"

"What does it matter to you if we bully him?" The chubby boy put his hands on his hips and blurted out a clever retort, "Are you his wife or something? Oh! Lily Bennett is James Cooper's wife! Shame on you, shameless..."

Everyone understood that, at that age, for a ten-year-old girl, this was the most powerful insult imaginable. As soon as Henry Harris shouted it, the others joined in, yelling loudly. In an instant, the little girl's eyes filled with tears, and she was about to cry. James Parker, standing behind her, couldn't see any of this; he just watched with amusement, thinking: The world of children is really interesting...

Just as he was thinking this, he heard Little Lily shout with a sob in her voice, "You're bullying me!" After this weak protest, she suddenly kicked the boy named Mark Brooks who was blocking her way, knocking him to the ground.

Seeing this martial arts master suddenly explode, the other children instinctively wanted to run away. But after just a couple of steps, they looked back and saw the little girl had already pinned Mark Brooks to the ground, crying and hitting him wildly without rhyme or reason.

The one doing the hitting was crying, and the one being hit was crying too. The rest of the kids stood by, while the chubby boy was clearly still deciding whether to run to the adults for help or to save himself first. James Parker stood to the side, ready to grab Lily and run when the other kids swarmed. With their well-trained legs, these kids would never catch up, even if they all had heart attacks trying.

With this plan in mind, sure enough, after a moment, Henry Harris gritted his teeth: "Everyone, get her!" A group of kids charged forward. James Parker quickly pulled Lily: "Run!" But Lily refused, still crying and flailing her arms, swinging at everyone around her.

Although this body had only been trained for a little over two months, with some simple qigong as support, James Parker's strength was no less than Lily's, who had trained since childhood. After a few tries, he finally managed to pull Lily away. But just as they took a couple of steps, a chorus of crying erupted behind them. Looking back, they saw a little girl in a bright red cotton jacket charging into the crowd with a tree branch, swinging and hitting the other kids fiercely.

"That's what you get for bullying girls! That's what you get for bullying girls..."

James Parker and his companion stopped in their tracks. The girl was rather pretty, but when she started hitting people, she really had a bit of a fierce aura. The branch wasn't too big, but not small either; it wouldn't draw blood through the thick cotton jackets, but just holding a stick gave her the upper hand in momentum. In no time, several kids were knocked to the ground, including Henry Harris, who lay in the snow crying loudly.

"No running! Whoever runs, I'll hit them first!"

After knocking down a few, when the rest tried to run, she shouted, and everyone stopped in their tracks, looking at her timidly. She threw down the branch and pointed at the kids on the ground, shouting, "Say it! Will you bully girls again!?"

The kids just cried. The girl picked up the branch again: "No crying! Say it!"

"We won't dare..." The kids were so scared they stopped crying and shook their heads desperately. The girl pointed the branch at a few more kids, and again came a chorus of "We won't dare." James Parker just stood there, finding it all amusing. Suddenly, the girl's branch pointed at him: "And you!"

"Ah, me?" Lily and James Parker said in unison, then realized the girl was naturally referring to James Parker. Lily broke into a smile through her tears: "No, not him." James Parker raised his hand with a grin: "I wouldn't dare either, haha... I never dared..."

"Hmph, that's more like it!" The girl threw down the branch and said to James Parker, "You're a boy, and you need a girl to protect you? How useless!" Her words were full of disdain. Lily quickly spoke up for James Parker: "No, it's not like that, James Parker just doesn't know how to fight." James Parker put on a thoroughly embarrassed look.

The girl clearly didn't accept Lily's explanation, but she didn't say anything more to make things difficult. She just turned to the other kids and said, "If I ever find out you bully girls again, I'll beat you to death!" There was a natural air of authority about her as she looked around. "My name is Sarah Lane! You all better watch out!"
