Chapter 19

Usually, dragon warriors are willing to team up with strong dragon mages. Many dragon warriors see Robert Foster's modesty and assume it’s a sign of weakness, so they choose someone else.

But! The fact is, Robert Foster is actually a dual-cultivator of both magic and martial arts—a Matthew Carter!

Chapter 10: Revival

Matthew Carter has two main branches: one is the dragon mage, and the other is the dragon warrior. Only by partnering and cooperating can they maximize their combat power. If someone can master both magic and martial arts, whether in the Four Great Dragon Cities or in Dragon Gate, they are treated as a treasure and given special training.

While Charles Foster was thinking, Robert Foster’s hands had already begun to rapidly form dragon seals. Faint green dragon patterns appeared on his cheeks and forehead, and hundreds of thin green lines of light danced and intertwined around his fingertips.

“Dragon’s mercy upon the world! Withered wood meets spring! Revival!”

One of Robert Foster’s original healing dragon spells—Revival!

Charles Foster watched Robert Foster cast the dragon spell, glaring at him resentfully and muttering under her breath, “Using Revival again! Don’t you know this harms your body?”

Eric Carter is a once-in-a-millennium genius in Dragon Gate, and Robert Foster is also a rare talent. The difference between them is that Eric Carter prefers to study highly destructive dragon spells, while Robert Foster focuses more on developing spells to heal his partners or enhance their abilities.

Revival is a dragon spell developed by Robert Foster for emergency healing. In both the Four Great Dragon Cities and Dragon Gate, it is considered a rare and highly effective healing spell. However, it also has its drawbacks: it greatly depletes the caster’s dragon power, often requiring several days of arduous cultivation to recover.

William Clark’s body trembled. The wounds inside him received the restorative power of the Revival spell, and his organs began to recover rapidly. The wounds started to heal at a speed almost visible to the naked eye.

“Advanced Revival? Are you crazy!” Charles Foster cried out, “Stop it now!”

“A young man with this kind of potential is beyond ‘rare’—I can’t let his body suffer any aftereffects.” Beads of sweat had already appeared on Robert Foster’s forehead. “Since I’ve decided to help, I have to give it my all.”

“You!” Charles Foster stomped her foot in frustration and looked around warily. She knew that after casting Advanced Revival, Robert Foster’s strength would drop by thirty percent. If Eric Carter showed up then, she was sure that maniac wouldn’t hesitate to take the opportunity to kill Robert Foster.

Even if it wasn’t Eric Carter but another Matthew Carter from the Dragon Cities, they probably wouldn’t mind killing Robert Foster in this witness-free place and framing Eric Carter for it, thus undermining Burning Dragon City’s standing in Dragon Gate and seizing all sorts of materials from Robert Foster.

Although the Four Great Dragon Cities have jointly formed Dragon Gate, describing their private competition as “intense” is an understatement—it’s downright brutal.

On the surface, everyone belongs to Dragon Gate, but who doesn’t want to outdo the others, seize more Dream Dragon Realms, obtain more materials and treasures, and reach the rank of Dragon Lord? Some even seek the legendary dragon said to be sleeping beneath the earth.

Everything looks harmonious on the surface, but in private, in places without witnesses, mutual slaughter has long become commonplace. The so-called advancement assessments are, in fact, just another form of open combat between the sides.

Robert Foster maintained the Advanced Revival spell for a full ten minutes before stopping. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and began to meditate, recovering the dragon power he had expended.

William Clark was still asleep. Having been struck by the Great Dragon Turtle Breath spell, if not released by a special dragon spell, he would surely sleep for a full month.

The two dragon spells worked together to repair William Clark’s nearly broken body, allowing him to recover quickly. The dark evil dragon mark on his chest had disappeared; unless he deliberately activated it, no one would notice the dragon spell imprint on his body.

Time flew by. After a day had passed, Robert Foster opened his eyes and exhaled a turbid breath. Two-thirds of the dragon power he had lost had been restored; the remaining third could be recovered later.

Charles Foster looked at Robert Foster with deep resentment. This man always thought of others. She hoped the child on the bed truly had outstanding potential as a dragon warrior—otherwise, this sacrifice would hardly be worth it.

“This kid’s body has recovered a lot. If we try to chase Eric Carter now, we probably won’t catch up.” Robert Foster rested his chin on his hand and seriously suggested, “Why don’t we head to the Tenth Sub-City of Burning Dragon City, Burning Dragon Snow City?”

With a huff, Charles Foster hoisted William Clark onto her shoulder and walked toward the door. “You’re only at ninety percent strength now—chasing after him would be suicide! What else can we do? Honestly, I suspect you’re just afraid of Eric Carter and are using your Advanced Revival spell as an excuse to stay here.”

“Haha, you saw right through me.” Robert Foster shrugged. “Eric Carter really is strong. Maybe only Steven Carter has a chance of capturing him.”
