Brian Young complained all the way back to the dorm, only changing the subject once they arrived, chattering as he squeezed in with Eric Brooks and David Thompson to talk about life and dreams.
At dinner, the two of them went out with their parents again. After Brian Young got punched by Ethan Bennett—which he had brought upon himself—he still tried every trick to extort Ethan Bennett into buying him dinner as compensation. Ethan Bennett had never seen anyone so eager to eat after being hit, so he took him out for a proper meal. Brian Young ate with great enthusiasm, repeatedly emphasizing that he hoped Ethan Bennett would punch him once every day from now on.
That night, back in the dorm, the parents of Eric Brooks and David Thompson had already left, and the two immediately showed their true colors. During the day, they practically wanted to tattoo “study hard and make progress every day” on their faces; now, they dragged Ethan Bennett and Brian Young into a lively discussion about all the beauties they’d seen, wishing they could pull them straight onto their beds.
Eric Brooks sat on his bed, picking his teeth and sighing, “This university is really something!”
David Thompson also looked forward eagerly, “I wonder if there are any beauties in our department. Did you guys meet any during registration today?”
Ethan Bennett immediately thought of Grace Bennett. Calling Grace Bennett a beauty was no exaggeration, but she was definitely not someone to mess with. Suddenly, he remembered Brian Young’s peculiar hobby—if he found out Grace Bennett was also trained, would he want to challenge her to a fight? That would be something to see. The thought made Ethan Bennett excited, and he couldn’t help but smile.
Brian Young caught this at once and shouted, “Look at Ethan Bennett’s lecherous grin—he’s definitely seen some beauties.”
Eric Brooks and David Thompson looked over and, sure enough, saw Ethan Bennett still grinning lasciviously, unable to stop. With a shout, they pounced—one grabbed his neck, the other tore at his collar, demanding that Ethan Bennett confess everything. They threatened that if he lied even a little, they’d drag him to the balcony and smash a stone on his chest.
Ethan Bennett could have knocked both of them out with a single move, but he really couldn’t do that, so he looked helplessly at Brian Young. Brian Young grinned wickedly, climbed onto the bed with a “heh heh,” and sang, “I didn’t see anything.”
With no way out, Ethan Bennett had no choice but to sell out Grace Bennett.
The next morning, Ethan Bennett was woken by David Thompson and Eric Brooks banging on beds and chairs, yelling for him and Brian Young to get up. The reason: Hurry up, time to go see beauties.
Ethan Bennett looked down at the two from his bed, still half-asleep. The two were dressed to the nines, with something shiny in their hair. A fly circled above, finally landing on David Thompson’s head, where it flailed its six legs and tumbled off. Ethan Bennett broke out in a cold sweat, and any remaining sleepiness vanished.
Meanwhile, Brian Young had already gotten up at Eric Brooks’s call. He took ten seconds to get dressed, ten seconds in the bathroom with running water, and another ten seconds brushing his teeth—a total of thirty seconds to finish everything. When he came out, the three of them stared in shock as Eric Brooks pointed at his mouth. Brian Young looked in the mirror and saw toothpaste foam still on his lips. He wiped it off, then smeared it on his hair, looking even more energetic, and strode over to criticize Ethan Bennett. Eric Brooks and David Thompson rushed into the bathroom to throw up.
Ethan Bennett also broke out in a cold sweat as he got up. Under the stern supervision of the other three, he dressed and washed up, fumbling so much under their gaze that he couldn’t find his toothpaste with his toothbrush, and when he did, he forgot what he was doing. Suddenly, he looked down, saw the toothpaste in his hand, had an epiphany, and grabbed a pair of leather shoes to polish them—prompting the other three to gang up and beat him.
It was only September, but the morning already had a hint of crisp autumn air. The four of them walked down the road in high spirits. At this hour, countless students were on the move. Eric Brooks and David Thompson couldn’t take their eyes off the crowd, scanning for targets like radar. Ethan Bennett seriously wondered if these two had graduated from a Shaolin Temple-affiliated school and had never seen a female creature before. Just now, even a hen by the roadside had made them laugh for ages.
Look at how calm Brian Young was, head always facing forward, never wavering—truly a trained man. Ethan Bennett was just thinking this when he suddenly noticed a bruise on the left side of Brian Young’s neck. He caught up and poked it, “What happened here? Did I do that yesterday?”
Without turning his head, Brian Young replied, “Duh, who else but you?”
Ethan Bennett asked in confusion, “Wasn’t it fine yesterday?”
Brian Young said, “Boss, just because I can endure it doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt! I didn’t pass out at the time, but after a night’s sleep, I can’t even turn my head.” Ethan Bennett was speechless.
The four arrived at the classroom where the Chinese department was gathering. Many people were already there. As soon as they stepped in, a girl’s strong voice rang out: “Ethan Bennett.”
Ethan Bennett looked over—it was Grace Bennett, and everyone’s eyes seemed to focus on him. The other three immediately slipped to the side, acting like they didn’t know Ethan Bennett.
Awkwardly, Ethan Bennett walked over to Grace Bennett and asked, “What is it?”
Grace Bennett proudly said to the girls beside her, “This is my younger brother Ethan Bennett. Everyone says we don’t look alike! What do you think?”
Ethan Bennett was frustrated and blurted out, “Get lost.”
Everyone in the room was stunned, thinking this guy had no manners—how could he talk to a beauty like that, even if she was his sister?
Grace Bennett still tried to explain for him, “Don’t mind him, he’s been like this since he was little.”
