Chapter 20

My name is Second Billy, my profession is warrior, and I’m also a high-level appraiser. To be honest, I don’t like leveling up, but I love treasures. What I like isn’t owning them—I’m a connoisseur. I even made a catalog of the treasures I’ve seen, called “Treasure Appraisal Illustrated Guide.” I’m also a player with weighted talents, but I don’t like fighting and killing. My weighted stat is comprehension, which is a kind of hidden attribute, but I put it all into my appraisal skills. However, appraising things is expensive, and no guild appreciates a genius like me, so I’ve ended up in this situation. I originally wanted to go to the third floor of the Green Wild Forest to see if I could pick up a pet egg to get through this tough time. You could call me an idiot, but I really had no other choice!

But fate wasn’t on my side—I got stuck on the second floor. Just when I was about to die, my saviors appeared. I still can’t forget that moving scene: bathed in sunlight, a demon-king-like mage, followed by two goddess-level beauties, with a legendary phoenix circling above them. Any monster that dared approach was easily dealt with by the mage. They must be the infamous Demon King Soul Eater team that’s been making waves lately. But why would they even notice a low-level warrior like me?

Life is always full of helplessness. I didn’t expect it to be the same in the virtual world!

On our way back, we rescued a silly warrior named Second Billy—the name really fits him. He’s only level twenty and already running around everywhere. But you can’t judge a book by its cover; he’s actually a very strong appraiser, which is exactly what our guild has been lacking. When we invited him, the guy was so excited he couldn’t even speak. Geez, it feels like we should be the ones thanking him for joining us. That’s so Second Billy!

Looks like the Guns and Roses mercenary group has really made a name for itself lately. I can’t wait to get back and see for myself. We didn’t even use long-distance messaging to notify anyone in advance—just went straight to the restaurant to celebrate when we got back!

The current Number One Tower is really impressive—it’s already six stories tall, which lives up to its grand name. Our return, as expected, caused a huge sensation. And when people saw my set of top-tier equipment, it caused an even bigger stir. This kind of top gear is almost impossible to get, even if you grind to the end, and yet I have it. It made a lot of people suspicious, and the customer service was almost overwhelmed. In the end, they had to issue an official statement explaining that everything was normal—I just had ridiculously good luck!

All the main guild members arrived soon after, but there were a few new faces. The first order of business was, of course, to thank Little Henry and Mood, the sisters who supported us during this time. But Little Henry wasn’t interested in formalities—he just wanted something practical, like a meal. Haha, that’s what brothers are for! The guild really relied on them during this period, so after expressing our thanks, I handed over the Dragon-Slaying Sword.

“Wow, boss, did you rob a bank? This is the Dragon-Slayer, the top warrior weapon! I heard it’s the rarest drop among all divine weapons. Tsk tsk, look at that shine, those patterns, the aura of a king.” Little Henry said, shaking his head and acting like an expert.

“This… this is too valuable, I can’t accept it,” Mood was also stunned, her eyes wide. This silly man actually gave her something so precious—what did that mean?

Actually, I knew money didn’t mean much to them, which is why I planned this. Besides, they really did a lot for the guild, and with our strength, we couldn’t have accomplished so much so quickly!

Of course, I pretended to be angry and forced her to accept it, then briefly recounted our experiences. When I mentioned the Hydra, everyone was curious, but unfortunately, they didn’t get to see that spectacular scene, and they were envious for a long time.

Mood gave an update on the guild: we now have over 2,000 members and are applying for a guild base. Little Henry reported on the finances—we now have 500,000 gold coins in liquid assets.

Next was introducing the newcomers. Little Henry kept staring at Second Billy, making his eyes spin, while Second Billy felt creeped out by the chubby guy’s gaze. But that was the start of their partnership—one of the strongest business duos in the Second World!

When I took out the equipment I’d gotten recently, everyone was amazed again. The rest of the time, everyone helped sort the loot. I thought selling all this stuff to the shop would be a waste, so why not sell it ourselves? My suggestion was approved by everyone. From now on, any good items that guild members can’t use will be sent to our own equipment shop to sell, and we’ll hold regular auctions for the best stuff. We’ll also gather the guild’s appraisers to set up an appraisal office. Heh, more ways to make money. Naturally, someone else will handle these things, so we can just relax.

“Report, Captain! There’s a fight at the restaurant entrance. Since it’s outside, our hired guards can’t intervene. Please advise, Captain.” A level-40 rogue rushed in and reported to Mood.

“You’re mistaken—the Captain is over there. That’s the real Captain. If there’s a problem, talk to him.” The little rogue was stunned, not knowing who I was.

“All right, let’s go take a look. Billy and Little Henry, organize this equipment. Once you’re done, pick a few good items to send to the official auction house to build up our reputation.”
