Chapter 9

“What’s going on, why is this battle technique so simple?”

While reading these manuals, Charles Griffin felt his mind was clear, his memory and comprehension far beyond the ordinary. Everything described in the books, he could almost fully understand at a glance.

If it weren’t for the fact that cultivation was forbidden in the Martial Scripture Hall, he felt he could use them directly.

“Could it be that I’m a martial arts genius, or is it…”

In the past, he had read some minor techniques, but found them somewhat obscure and hard to grasp. Yet now, things were completely different. It must be due to that mysterious dragon jade.

“This mysterious dragon jade in my sea of consciousness has changed my soul, allowing my mind to be as pure as a child’s, to read ten lines at a glance, and even my perception of my surroundings has become much stronger…”

“Dad, what exactly is this mysterious dragon jade, that it has such heaven-defying effects? Not only can it transfer the true qi you cultivated to me, but it can also make me a martial arts prodigy…”

After reading a few more elementary yellow-rank books, Charles Griffin felt there was no challenge at all. So he went to the intermediate yellow-rank section, where there were only five manuals. Charles Griffin immediately spotted one called “Meteor Fist.”

“…Body like the starry sky, fist like a falling meteor, heavy as Mount Tai, fast as lightning…”

“This Meteor Fist is said to be one of the best among the intermediate yellow-rank manuals. The The Bennett Family Meteor Fist is also quite famous outside, but as I read this manual, it doesn’t seem too difficult. I’ve already memorized quite a few elementary yellow-rank manuals, so this time I’ll copy down this Meteor Fist…”

The The Bennett Family’s manuals naturally couldn’t be taken out of the Martial Scripture Hall, so after choosing a manual, one could only copy it.

Half an hour later, Charles Griffin had finished copying and returned the manual to its place.

“During the copying process, I fully understood the content. I’ll go back to my quarters to cultivate now. But this is an intermediate yellow-rank battle technique—let’s see if I can master it.”

Yellow-rank manuals are divided into elementary, intermediate, and advanced. For the first three levels of the Dragon Vein Realm, one usually cultivates elementary manuals, and so on. Charles Griffin picked the Meteor Fist, which was considered training above his level.

“With the wonders of the mysterious dragon jade, I should be able to manage this.”

Having made up his mind, Charles Griffin walked out of the Martial Scripture Hall. Just as he reached the stone gate, a withered old voice sounded in his ear.

“The Bennett Family manuals must be destroyed immediately after cultivation. If any are found to be leaked, execute without mercy!”

Charles Bennett turned around, but saw no one behind him. He quickly nodded and said, “Yes, Grandfather. Charles Bennett takes his leave.”

He had chosen an intermediate yellow-rank battle technique, which was against the rules, and was afraid the old man would find out. So after speaking, he left immediately.

In the wooden hut, the old man opened his eyes and said helplessly, “I originally thought this boy might be a promising talent, but he’s too ambitious, actually choosing an intermediate yellow-rank battle technique… What a pity. Back then, Quentin Griffin was someone with a real chance to reach the Divine Pill Realm…”

Chapter 5 Liam Bennett

Three days later, Charles Griffin stood before a giant boulder two meters high.

To the left was a forest, to the right a wide river. Along the riverbank, such giant stones could be seen everywhere.

Charles Griffin took a deep breath, his true qi suddenly erupting. His body shot toward the boulder like a cannonball, and with a fierce shout, he punched out. His fist was like a massive meteor, whistling as it crashed into the boulder!

Boom!

The boulder shattered, fragments of stone swept backward by the powerful force. Most of the debris fell into the water, sending up a spray.

“Body like the starry sky, fist like a falling meteor, heavy as Mount Tai, fast as lightning… This Meteor Fist contains the true essence of both speed and weight, which is why it can unleash such power. I’m only at the second level of the Dragon Vein Realm, so I can’t yet display the full power of the Meteor Fist, but…” Charles Griffin’s eyes were icy cold. “If I run into Luke Brooks again, this move will be enough to kill him!”

“In three days, I, Charles Griffin, have completely mastered the Meteor Fist. If word got out, it would surely shock everyone.”

Walking to the riverbank, Charles Griffin washed his face with river water and looked at his reflection on the surface.

“These days of intense training have made my body much stronger, and my skin a bit darker, but I’m still handsome. I bet I won’t be short of girls.”

Thinking of this, Charles Griffin grinned smugly.

Suddenly, a gust of wind came from behind. Charles Griffin was startled, quickly ducked down, and hooked his leg backward. To his surprise, he felt his leg hit something soft, and then a figure flew over his head, crying out as it fell into the river.

Charles Griffin stood up and saw that the one who had tried to ambush him, but was instead kicked into the river, was a young girl. She didn’t look weak at all, and was only caught off guard.

She looked furious, quickly jumped ashore from the river, pouting and glaring angrily at Charles Griffin, her bright, sparkling eyes wishing she could eat him alive.

This girl looked about the same age as Charles Griffin, with a slender figure, bright eyes and white teeth, skin as fair as jade, and dressed in a light blue long dress. She was a rare beauty. Charles Griffin had never seen such a beautiful girl before, and for a moment, he was completely stunned.
