“Who are you two, and why are you after me?”
“We’re just taking money to solve someone else’s problem, no need to ask more, Charles Bennett, prepare to die!”
Two blades immediately slashed toward Charles Griffin. The attacks were vicious, and the whistling sound of the blades cutting through the air made one’s scalp tingle.
“These two may not have much stronger true energy than me, but they’re experienced fighters, with plenty of kills under their belts. Compared to Luke Brooks, they’re a hundred times more dangerous. If I don’t go all out today, I’ll definitely die here!”
“Judging by their moves, they’re skilled at teaming up. I have to defeat one first to break their combined strength!”
In the darkness, Charles Griffin’s eyes flashed with a cold light. The two blades closed in quickly, but he used his agility to roll to the side, cleverly breaking out of the situation where he’d have to face both at once. The two men in black charged at him, one in front and one behind.
“Wild Wind, Chaotic Blades!”
With a whoosh, one of them came at Charles Griffin with a roar, the blade instantly closing in.
Seeing the two men in black had separated, Charles Griffin gritted his teeth, gathered all his true energy, and instead of retreating, charged madly at the man in black!
“Meteor Fist!”
In the pitch-black private room, a burst of starlight exploded. The man in black’s eyes blurred for a moment, and he immediately felt a powerful force break through his blade technique and crash into his body.
Bang!
The leading man in black spat blood and crashed into the man behind him.
Charles Griffin charged forward, instantly snatching the opponent’s blade. With a roar, he stabbed the blade through the man’s heart, and blood immediately drenched his clothes and face.
What had just happened seemed simple, but was actually thrilling. The biggest surprise for Charles Griffin was that the starlight from Meteor Fist had actually blurred the opponent’s vision. Plus, as a mid-level Yellow-rank combat skill, Meteor Fist’s power was equal to the strongest strike of an average third-level Dragon Vein Realm expert. That’s why he could seriously injure the man in black, and Charles Griffin was able to kill him in one go.
The other man in black, seeing his companion dead, stared at Charles Griffin in shock. Not caring about anything else, he immediately leapt out the window. Charles Griffin wanted to give chase and force out the identity of the one who wanted him dead, but just then the door burst open. Zachary Bennett stood imposingly at the entrance. Seeing Charles Griffin’s blood-covered face and the corpse on the floor, his brows furrowed deeply.
“You beast, you really don’t know what’s good for you. Just because you’ve got a bit of skill, you dare kill someone in the Rising Sun Restaurant? Don’t you know I’m good friends with Boss Qing here?”
Charles Griffin ignored him, turned around, and untied the ropes on Little Harris, saying, “Little Harris, leave here first. We’ll talk about the rest later.”
With one killer dead and the other escaped, Little Harris stared at Charles Griffin in shock. But Zachary Bennett, who had just entered, was also looking at him with hostility. Little Harris was afraid, and though worried for Charles Griffin’s safety, knew he couldn’t help, so he hurriedly ran off, apparently to find help.
Charles Griffin’s disregard made Zachary Bennett’s face twist with anger.
Behind Zachary Bennett, a richly dressed fat man glanced at the bloody scene inside, his face turning pale. “Young master, you’ve really gone too far. You’ve made such a bloody mess and scared off many of my customers. My business is going to suffer badly.”
The two of them were clearly working together, just trying to make things difficult for Charles Griffin. Having just killed someone, Charles Griffin was still full of killing intent. A single look from him made Boss Qing back away in fear.
He didn’t want to clash with Zachary Bennett yet. Zachary Bennett was at the fourth level of the Dragon Vein Realm and had mastered many combat skills. Right now, Charles Griffin was no match, so he could only endure.
But even though Charles Griffin had already backed down, Zachary Bennett was still furious.
He’d long disliked Charles Griffin. He used to bully him all the time, but now this guy actually had some strength. Especially after injuring Luke Brooks last time, Zachary Bennett had been forced to swallow his anger. Now, with old and new grudges combined, the look he gave Charles Griffin was filled with murderous intent.
“…Last time you injured Luke Brooks, I let you off. Today you’ve ruined the Yang family’s reputation again. Looks like I really need to teach you a lesson, so you won’t act so arrogant and reckless anymore!”
As he spoke, he took a few steps forward, his powerful aura pressing down on Charles Griffin.
“This guy… is really strong.”
The fourth level of the Dragon Vein Realm was no joke. Zachary Bennett’s fierce gaze bore down on him like a giant mountain, forcing Charles Griffin to retreat step by step.
But he still didn’t let go of the blade in his hand. Blood continued to drip from it, and his own eyes were just as fierce, making him look like he was ready to go head-to-head with Zachary Bennett.
Seeing Charles Griffin like this, Zachary Bennett grew even angrier, gritting his teeth and saying, “You bastard, you still dare to confront me? If you don’t kneel down and lick my toes today, don’t even think about leaving here alive!”
Charles Griffin said nothing, just stared at him coldly.
He knew that if Zachary Bennett pushed him too far, even if it cost him his life, he’d make sure the other paid a price.
Just as the two were about to fight, a young woman who had been sitting with Zachary Bennett earlier appeared behind Boss Qing. Seeing the scene in the private room, her face turned pale and she stepped back several paces.
“Brother Zhan, don’t do this. Let’s just leave, okay…”
Zachary Bennett withdrew his aura, turned to see who it was, then looked back at Charles Griffin, and said harshly, “Fine, I’ll let you enjoy yourself for one more day. Tomorrow morning, you’ll know what it means to die.”
