Chapter 11

“Steven Scott, how dare you say such things... Wait! What is going on? Could it be that sword... that sword!?”

Hannah Grant finally seemed to realize what was happening. She hurriedly turned to Xuantian Sect and shouted loudly, “Young hero Xuantian Sect, quick, take your sword away at once, help junior brother Steven Scott!”

“Weren’t you the ones who wanted to see my sword?”

A familiar smile remained on Xuantian Sect’s face as he looked at Steven Scott, explaining unhurriedly, “Don’t worry, soon, he’ll be freed.”

“You...”

Hannah Grant glared angrily at Xuantian Sect, then quickly shouted to Steven Scott, “Throw it away, junior brother Steven Scott, throw the sword away!”

“You want to take my divine sword? No! No one can take my divine sword, no one! Whoever stands in my way will die! Die! Wretch, how dare you order me—go to hell!”

Seeing Hannah Grant approaching, Steven Scott let out another beast-like roar, chilling everyone to the bone.

“Kill! Kill! Kill!”

With these roars, Steven Scott raised the Supreme Demon Sword high, aiming it at the approaching Hannah Grant, about to swing it down.

But at this moment, his body, essence, blood, even his soul, had already been burned away by that black flame. As he roared and made the motion to swing the sword, his entire body seemed to trigger a chain reaction and instantly collapsed!

It was as if a sand sculpture by the sea had been struck by a great force—his whole being rapidly disintegrated.

First his legs, then his torso, his entire body turning to dust, burned by black flames into black mist, losing all substance in an instant and collapsing!

His body collapsed, but Steven Scott seemed completely unaware of his own state, still letting out shrill, furious howls from his mouth.

“Kill! I am the ruler of the heavens, the emperor of the three realms! All must submit to me, all living beings must tremble before me—kill! Kill!”

The hellish roars, together with the terrifying sight of his body collapsing, deeply shocked everyone’s senses. Even the experienced Hannah Grant couldn’t help but shiver, her face turning pale.

Not until Steven Scott’s head was also burned to smoke by the black flames did the howls from his mouth abruptly cease.

A gust of wind blew, and the ashes of Steven Scott’s remains scattered, vanishing into the void in the blink of an eye.

Reduced to nothing!

Chapter 7: Ascending the Mountain

“Whew!”

The black mist that had devoured Steven Scott completely rolled rapidly and surged into the dark red demon sword floating in the air. In the blink of an eye, all traces disappeared, and this strange sword, called the Supreme Demon Sword by Xuantian Sect, once again fell into his hand.

“I said before, this sword is not something just anyone can wield. Unfortunately, this young hero Steven Scott clearly didn’t listen.”

Xuantian Sect spoke calmly, his expression unchanged.

The only change, if any, was a faint trace of regret.

That was all.

“Miss Hannah Grant, do you still wish to examine this sword?”

As Xuantian Sect spoke, his signature half-smiling gaze once again fell on Hannah Grant.

“Ah!”

Before the pale-faced Hannah Grant could reply, Emily Grant, who finally reacted to the question, let out a terrified scream.

“You, you, just now...”

But this time, before she could finish, her father Matthew Grant rushed to her side at lightning speed, tightly covering her mouth. At the same time, he looked nervously and fearfully at the man named Xuantian Sect before him, as if afraid that even half a sentence from Emily Grant might displease him and bring disaster upon himself and his daughter.

And Emily Grant, with her father’s hand over her mouth, finally realized for the first time just how terrifying this young man was. Her beautiful, large eyes shrank suddenly, filled with unspeakable terror.

The madness and shrill howls of Steven Scott just now seemed to still echo in her ears. The way he died, leaving not even ashes behind, had left an indelible mark of horror in the heart of this girl of only fifteen.

“Xuantian Sect!”

With her pretty face pale, Hannah Grant finally forced herself to suppress her fear, trying to keep her voice calm, though she clearly lacked confidence, as she questioned, “Why! Why!? Junior brother Steven Scott had no grudge against you, why did you do this to him!?”

“Why? What did I do to him? I merely agreed to his request and let him examine this sword.”

Xuantian Sect shrugged slightly, looking rather innocent.

“What exactly is that terrifying thing in your hand? You knew it was so dangerous, yet you still...”

“I think you seem to have forgotten.”
