"Eh? You actually guessed it?" Henry Cooper exclaimed, "Is that woman out of her mind? I risked my neck to save her, and she blames me instead! If I hadn't stepped in, she would've been screwed over by that damn manager..."
David Bolton smiled inwardly. How could this be a guess? In his previous life, Henry Cooper had told him about this himself! David Bolton patted his shoulder and said, "That's just how this damn world is!"
Henry Cooper sighed and said, "You're right, this world is fucking messed up!"
The two of them went inside. Henry Cooper unceremoniously grabbed a bottle of beer from the fridge, bit off the cap with his teeth, and chugged it down in a few big gulps. After finishing the whole bottle, he wiped his mouth and said, "Refreshing!"
David Bolton sat down across from him and asked, "So, what kind of job are you planning to look for next?"
"I actually came here today to talk to you about that!" Henry Cooper said mysteriously. "Have you heard of 'Miracle'?"
"You mean that 'Miracle' they advertise on TV all the time?" David Bolton replied with a smile.
Henry Cooper immediately perked up. "That's right, that 'Miracle'! I heard from a relative who sells gaming helmets that tons of people are playing this game, and you can make a fortune from it!"
"Oh? How do you make money?" David Bolton vaguely remembered that in his previous life, Henry Cooper had tried to persuade him to play 'Miracle' together with the same pitch, but he never really got interested. Thinking back now, if he had listened to Henry Cooper and joined 'Miracle' on launch day, maybe he wouldn't have had so many regrets later on!
Henry Cooper looked confident. "My relative has some inside info. When the game reaches level 20, they'll open up a service to exchange gold coins for real money. As long as we can farm enough gold, why wouldn't we get rich?"
"Sounds good. I was planning to try out the game anyway!" David Bolton nodded and agreed with a smile. He had countless ways to make money in his mind; just a few tips would be enough to help the chubby guy rake it in. Of course, he wouldn't keep anything from his friend.
Henry Cooper was overjoyed. "With the two of us working together, nothing can stop us! If we make a ton of money, how should we spend it? Should we get dozens of bikini babes to fill a whole room for Fatty to feast his eyes on?"
"Get lost, you perv!" David Bolton said, feigning anger.
Henry Cooper just grinned lecherously, showing two rows of white teeth. Ever since he was a kid, this chubby guy had dreamed of building the biggest harem in history—especially after reading the manga 'King of the Harem'.
"By the way—" David Bolton said casually, "What race and class are you planning to pick?"
"Elf, rogue!" Henry Cooper answered without hesitation, clearly knowing a thing or two about the game, or he wouldn't have rattled off those terms so easily.
David Bolton didn't know what class Henry Cooper had chosen in his previous life, but playing a rogue... David Bolton said, "I think you should pick a different class. Hmm, hunter would suit you better!"
"Why?" Henry Cooper asked, puzzled.
"Because with your big, straightforward personality, you're not cut out for the fancy footwork a rogue needs! Actually, none of the melee classes suit you! You should play a hunter—a Beastmaster hunter. Let your pet tank the monsters up front, and you can just stand back and shoot. It's much safer and more reliable! They're good in dungeons too, with decent damage and the 'Feign Death' skill to drop aggro—a real lifesaver for new content!" David Bolton coaxed.
Henry Cooper thought about it and couldn't help but nod, feeling that David Bolton made a lot of sense! He looked at David Bolton and said, "Didn't expect you to know so much!"
David Bolton smiled slightly and made up an excuse. "Since I decided to play, I did some research. I found all this on the forums!"
"Oh—" the simple-minded chubby guy immediately believed David Bolton. "Then I'll try hunter!"
"When your character reaches level five, try buying a few bottles of Porto Brandy and give them to an NPC named 'Old Drunkard Swan.'"
"Why?"
"I read in the guides that this NPC gives out a hidden hunter class quest!" David Bolton made up a reason.
"Really?" Henry Cooper was half-convinced, half-doubtful.
"Have I ever lied to you?" David Bolton asked.
"All the time!"
"Damn it, I'm serious this time, trust me!" David Bolton's fists itched; he really wanted to punch him.
He still remembered that when a hunter completed a level 100+ hidden quest, there was a bug. Not only did the hunter who finished the quest get the final reward—a Phoenix Divine Beast—but even a teammate standing nearby got it too!
The phoenix not only had incredible attack power, but could also be ridden. Sitting on a blazing phoenix was the ultimate show-off! When those two summoned their phoenixes in the main city, countless players were awestruck!
Unfortunately, the hidden quest was unique. Besides those two, no other players could get the Phoenix Divine Beast! Also, for non-hunter classes, players could only use their mount pets in the wild. In dungeons and arenas, where mounts weren't allowed, they couldn't summon them, so it didn't have much impact. That's why the game company never took back the hunter teammate's phoenix and just let it slide.
