Chapter 13

Almost at the same time, a tiger followed behind, with a monkey standing on its back.

As they walked out, everyone present applauded, watching the woman in black direct the tiger through a hoop and have the monkey roll on the ground.

These tricks made everyone burst into laughter, but for Robert Miller, they were just boring performances, though he continued to observe.

The young man wearing a tall black top hat waved a small wooden stick in his hand. With each wave, sparks shot out from the tip, flying into the air and exploding with a "bang," forming all kinds of fireworks.

These fireworks turned into flowers, into flying golden snakes, into the proliferation of trees... These beautiful fireworks immediately caught Robert Miller's attention.

Is this magic? Even if it's just the lowest level of tricks?

After the performance, it wasn't long before the town's Pastor Dennis appeared on a wooden platform in the square. All around, the crowd naturally gathered toward the platform, and the hymn to the goddess officially began.

"Goddess Isidis, growth and harvest are both parts of the eternal cycle, the most natural things intelligent life can do after coming into existence. Today we can reap a harvest, so we must thank the gods, thank the earth, thank nature. Afterwards, next spring, we will sow more seeds of life, letting the world be filled with green." This was Pastor Dennis preaching.

"Thank the goddess for giving us food, thank the goddess for giving us abundance." The neat voices echoed around the platform, seven or eight hundred townsfolk shouting in unison.

This small town's harvest festival would not have miracles, and the hymn to the goddess was simple. The ceremony ended quickly, and then came the revelry—the time for beer and barbecue.

"Ellen Miller sis, I need to talk to you about something tomorrow. Will you be around?" Taking advantage of a break, Robert Miller stepped forward and said.

"What is it?" Ellen Miller turned her head. Of course, there were no bras in this world, and the priest's robe had a wide neckline. As she turned, Robert Miller caught a glimpse of snowy white skin.

Amazement—that was Robert Miller's feeling in that instant.

Even though this body had interacted with her many times before, seeing her now, she was still breathtakingly beautiful, making him feel a sudden sense of "astonishment"—the sunlight shone on her, enveloping her in a faint green glow, with a strange, subtle fragrance.

A shiver quickly spread through him, and for a moment, Robert Miller was lost in thought. But in the next instant, a look from behind brought him back to his senses: "Ellen Miller sis, I want to ask you to witness something tomorrow."

Ellen Miller was a bit surprised. "What is it? Oh, I'm very busy right now, but I'll wait for you tomorrow!"

Robert Miller glanced at the bustling crowd around, nodded, and left. After walking for a while, he looked back and happened to catch Pastor Dennis's gaze—a gaze filled with coldness.

Chapter 6 Harvest Festival (Part 2)

Leaving the town and seeing no one around, Robert Miller opened his eyes, took a deep breath, and let his mind enter the space.

Unlike at the beginning, the thirty-meter-high sphere of light had now regained its brightness, illuminating the entire space. As he walked, he saw that the fruit trees he had planted were all in bloom and about to bear fruit.

The beehives he had prepared were all inside, buzzing as the bees busily worked for this little space.

Robert Miller walked to a spot and checked things over, gradually showing a wry smile. Many of the items he had brought before boarding the plane were placed in the space and were still here.

An instant camera, clothes, a machete, a large pile of food and books, and finally credit cards and various currencies—it was enough to make one laugh and cry.

If only he had known earlier, he would have filled the space with things. Now... Robert Miller regretted it inwardly.

He casually picked up a bag of roast chicken and returned to reality, eating it in big bites.

This body had a very strong reaction to this kind of food, drooling, almost devouring the whole roast chicken in ten minutes.

Robert Miller carefully threw all the bones into the space and buried them underground.

In the Shennong Horn's space, food left on the ground wouldn't rot, but if you buried it, it would decompose quickly—a very peculiar phenomenon.

After thinking for a moment, he took out a machete from the space. This was an excellent machete from Earth, specially made for the outdoors and very sharp. After some thought, he also put on the bulletproof vest he had brought for outdoor protection, figuring it would offer some protection in this world as well.

Before long, Robert Miller found a stream, and his eyes lit up.

The clear water carried some silt, and there were all kinds of fish in the water. Robert Miller squatted by the river, reaching a hand into the water, eager to catch a few small fish to raise in the space.

The stream wasn't deep, but maybe Robert Miller wasn't very good at catching fish, so after a long while, he still hadn't caught any.

Robert Miller couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated.

There were always animals near the river. After a while, Robert Miller heard what sounded like animals drinking in the distance. Following the sound, he peered through the grass and vaguely saw what seemed to be a large wild boar with many piglets.
