Chapter 13

Green’s fifth seat, Caleb Dean, then said, “Thank you, Cult Master, thank you, Mr. King.”

After King saluted, he did not turn to leave the bamboo building.

Suddenly, a faint radiance appeared on his body.

Then this radiance, outside the bamboo building, condensed into a human figure six zhang tall.

When this humanoid light figure appeared, those from the Xia Dynasty, such as the summer’s Governor Sherman who were about to sweep through Ganlu Manor, were all startled.

Governor Sherman shouted, “Who goes there!”

“Coachman.” From inside the bamboo building, King chuckled and said, “I drive the carriage for my family’s Cult Master.”

Chapter 6: Such a Lively Day

Outside the bamboo building, the people of the Great Xia Dynasty were thrown into chaos.

Governor Sherman, the governor of an entire province, also grew stern.

Before their eyes, the radiance gradually condensed into a gigantic light figure six zhang tall.

This was the symbol of a martial expert whose cultivation was profound, having condensed the true intent of martial arts.

The people of the Great Xia Dynasty were now facing, unmistakably, a Martial King!

At least a tenth-realm, a master of the Condensed Intent stage.

And yet, such a dignified Martial King, a grandmaster, actually claimed to be just a coachman?

What kind of person could command such an expert to serve as a slave or servant?

A Martial King could easily wipe out a Class B power single-handedly.

He could found his own sect and become the master of a Class A power, dominating a region.

For him to willingly serve as a servant, and to mention the “Cult Master” with such respect—there was only one such person in all of Shenzhou.

The Cult Master of the Demonic Sect.

Logan Brooks.

Was the world’s number one demon truly here in this manor right now?

Realizing this, the crowd was thrown into another commotion.

Everyone looked around anxiously, panic on their faces.

Inside the bamboo building, Logan Brooks watched the scene, secretly musing.

It seemed those outside couldn’t tell that King was speaking from within the bamboo building, nor had they discovered their location.

He didn’t know whether it was due to King’s own abilities, or if there was something special about this bamboo building.

Speaking of King...

Logan Brooks looked outside the bamboo building.

That six-zhang-tall humanoid light figure, once fully condensed and stabilized, took on the form of a mighty King.

This King had a dignified and awe-inspiring appearance, unmatched in strength.

Immovable and indestructible.

Incredibly sharp, able to cut through anything.

The ultimate intent of both offense and defense gathered in one.

Looking at that illusory King image, Logan Brooks naturally thought of something else.

He recalled that both the “Annals of Shenzhou” and the life experiences provided by the black jar had mentioned the Great King Monastery.

Once the ruler of the snowy plateau at the western edge of Shenzhou, it was one of the world’s top martial holy lands.

It had been wiped out by the Demonic Sect’s Cult Master himself!

Now, this burly man named King at his side—whether by name or martial prowess—seemed to be from the Great King Monastery’s lineage.

Outside the bamboo building, the Xia Dynasty’s Governor Sherman could hardly believe it: “You hail from the Great King Monastery? With your level of cultivation, you’d be at least a Dharma King or a Guru, yet you’ve joined the Demonic Sect and willingly serve as a slave to the Demon Emperor?”

King chuckled and said, “A wretched place like the Great King Monastery deserved to be destroyed long ago. They provoked the Divine Sect, and our Cult Master personally sent all those bald thieves into reincarnation—that was their fate.

All those Dharma Kings and Gurus are nothing but nonsense. How could that compare to the honor of following our Divine Sect’s Cult Master?”

He wore an expression of pride and glory: “If you’re smart, you’ll kneel at once and welcome our Divine Sect’s Cult Master. If the Cult Master is merciful, you might yet keep your lives today.”

Everyone, facing that towering King image, showed fear.

The Great King Monastery had been destroyed by the Demonic Sect’s Cult Master; the Demonic Sect was the mortal enemy of the Great King Monastery.

Yet a Martial King from the Great King Monastery had been subdued by the Demonic Sect’s Cult Master.

Not only had he willingly joined the Demonic Sect, he even knelt as a servant.

Just how terrifying must the Demonic Sect’s Cult Master be?

Governor Sherman hurriedly shouted to steady everyone: “Though the demon is strong, His Majesty the Sword Emperor will deal with him.

The Demonic Sect may be arrogant, but our Central Shenzhou has no shortage of experts. The demonic path will not have its way.

Though you are at the Martial King realm, you grovel and surrender to your enemy, utterly betraying the true intent of the King legacy. You’re all bluster and no substance!”

At these words, King burst out laughing.

“To oppose our Divine Sect is a dead end. You fool, you were only appointed as the Xia Dynasty’s Governor Sherman two months ago. Have you forgotten so soon? You got the job because your predecessor was killed by an expert from our Green Hall.”

He laughed and said, “All bluster and no substance? Then why don’t you try me.”

He made no move inside the bamboo building.

But outside, the giant King image took a step forward.

With just that one step, a tornado swept through the manor.

A murderous aura enveloped everyone from the Great Xia Dynasty.

Those with weaker cultivation went limp, unable to breathe.

They couldn’t even turn to run.

The Xia Dynasty’s Governor Sherman’s face turned ashen.

It was said that there was only a thin line between the ninth and tenth realms.

But between a Martial Master and a Martial King, between a grandmaster and a great grandmaster, there was a vast chasm.

Behind Governor Sherman, everyone gazed up at the King image, despair written on their faces.

But just then, the advancing King image suddenly stopped.

Inside the bamboo building, King’s expression also changed.

The ever-present cheerful smile since his appearance vanished.
