Chapter 7

“There’s nothing I can do. My family is just an ordinary one. If we don’t guard against you like this, you’d call the police the moment you step out of my house. Wouldn’t that mean we’re just letting you do whatever you want with us? Also, you’d better watch your attitude. You’re the ones who started this trouble, so you can’t blame me for dealing with you now.” Andrew Grant said helplessly, as he gently pinched the arm of the paper figure in his hand.

“Ah! It hurts! It hurts!” Mr. Lane immediately screamed in pain.

Seeing Mr. Lane’s miserable expression, Andrew Grant was still angry about his earlier arrogance and for pushing his father, but in the end, he was a kind-hearted young man. Seeing this, he let go of his hand.

“What… what do you want from us?” This time, having witnessed and experienced such bizarre things firsthand, Mr. Lane was finally scared. He looked at Andrew Grant as if he were seeing some kind of demon, his face pale as he stammered out the question. Beside him, Olivia Baker was already pale, her heavy makeup unable to hide it.

“Don’t worry, I’m just taking precautions for the future. I don’t intend to do anything to you. As long as you don’t cause trouble for my family afterwards, I naturally won’t do anything to you. But if you do, then don’t blame me for being rude.” Andrew Grant said sincerely.

Seeing the sincerity on Andrew Grant’s face, both Olivia Baker and Mr. Lane began to cry.

All for a dress, all for the sake of showing off their youthful arrogance, now their very lives were in Andrew Grant’s hands. Why hadn’t they just been honest earlier? Why hadn’t they thought to write a fake one for him?

Chapter 0005 Mr. Andrew, Please

“Ma-master, we really won’t dare do it again. Please, please give us back the paper figure!” Olivia Baker pleaded tearfully.

“Yes, yes, master, we really won’t dare again. Please, we beg you, give us back the paper figure!” Mr. Lane also begged, eyes full of tears.

“I’m not some master, my name is Andrew Grant. I definitely won’t give you back the paper figure. But don’t worry, at most this paper figure can only break your arms or legs, it won’t take your life. Of course, as long as you don’t cause trouble for my family, I definitely won’t do anything to you.” Andrew Grant said.

“Mr. Andrew, can I call you ‘brother’? Please, just give us the paper figure. I swear, I swear, if I, David Lane, ever do anything to harm your family in this life, may I be struck by lightning from the heavens.” David Lane continued to beg, tears streaming down his face.

Rest assured? How could he be at ease? What if one day Andrew Grant was in a bad mood and decided to break his arm for fun with the paper figure? Who would he cry to then? Worst of all, what if he accidentally broke his third leg? Wouldn’t he be a eunuch for life?

“Mr. Andrew, I swear too, I swear too!” Olivia Baker hurriedly followed suit.

“Swearing is fine! How about this: write down your oaths, and then drip a drop of your blood on them.” Seeing how pitiful they looked, Andrew Grant thought to himself that if he kept the paper figures, they’d probably live in constant fear and die young. After thinking it over, he spoke.

“Thank you, Mr. Andrew, thank you, Mr. Andrew.” The two of them were truly grateful, quickly picking up the brush and writing their oaths on yellow talisman paper. At Andrew Grant’s instruction, they also added a vow not to reveal anything about today, and then dripped their blood onto the paper.

Andrew Grant took the two pieces of yellow talisman paper, muttered some words, and suddenly the two oath papers burst into flames. Olivia Baker and David Lane stared wide-eyed, their hearts pounding.

“All right, remember your oaths. Otherwise, if you’re struck by lightning in the future, don’t blame me.” Andrew Grant smiled, then—“rip! rip!”—tore the two paper figures into pieces.

“Ah! Ah! Ah!” The two of them screamed instinctively when they saw Andrew Grant tear up the paper figures.

“What are you screaming for?” Andrew Grant said, half laughing, half exasperated.

“Didn’t you just tear up the paper figures? Why… why are we okay?” Only then did they realize nothing had happened.

“Nonsense. I didn’t activate my special power, of course nothing happened to you. Otherwise, wouldn’t anyone be able to use this method? What? Are you thinking of breaking your oath?” Andrew Grant looked at them with a half-smile.

“No, no! Mr. Andrew, you’re joking, how would we dare break our oaths!” The two of them were startled and shook their heads like rattles.

Having witnessed Andrew Grant’s abilities firsthand, they wouldn’t dare risk their lives!

What if they really were struck by lightning? No, not ‘what if’—it was very likely! That was a risk they absolutely couldn’t take. If they did, there’d be no chance to regret it!

Seeing this, Andrew Grant secretly found it funny. He didn’t actually have the ability to enforce oaths—he was just scaring them. But seeing their reactions, Andrew Grant knew that even if they were given the courage of a lion, they’d never dare break their oaths now.

These days, who would dare risk their own life as a joke!
