The officer sitting on the ground opened his mouth in shock and shouted, “Are you kidding me! Even the rocket exploded! Kill him! Use the machine gun! Use the rocket! Use grenades! Just kill him now! Whoever takes him down gets promoted two ranks immediately!”
“Ignorant.” 13 muttered disdainfully. He put away his gun and continued to “carry out the mission” with his knife.
Finally, someone understood the officer’s words. In the distance, three M1 tanks made in country M drove toward the square. Everyone, as if seeing hope, began to retreat behind the tanks. 13, who had been quickly slaughtering those around him, suddenly realized that everyone nearby had disappeared. He had to stop again and look toward the direction where the crowd was gathering. At this moment, the officer had also climbed onto the turret of the leading tank, laughing hysterically, “I don’t know what you are, but now you die! Fire!” The M1 tanks used by TW are equipped with German 120mm smoothbore cannons, and the high-explosive incendiary shell shot out at high speed toward 13.
13 stood his ground without moving an inch. He simply put away his dagger, spun sideways, and a huge explosion sounded ten meters behind him, sending wind and cement debris flying.
No one shouted anymore; the once noisy square was now dead silent. It seemed even everyone’s heartbeat had stopped.
Because 13 was still standing there.
“Sigh, there are some things in this world that can’t be reasoned with.” 13 straightened up and looked at the crowd thirty meters ahead, saying, “Power is one of those things.” With that, he raised his COOL—FIRE, pulled the trigger three times in a row. The bullets drilled precisely into the tank’s barrel, detonating the silent “killer” inside.
In the forest...
“Let’s go, there’s nothing left here. ‘Divine Punishment’ isn’t here, what’s next is just a one-sided massacre. Let’s wait for him at the main gate.” 1 turned around and said.
“What a bunch of idiot soldiers. In this situation, they should have used snipers from high ground. How could they surround with nearly a thousand troops?” 36 sighed for the poor TW soldiers.
“You’re always the smart one. If you were that officer, would you have thought the enemy would attack with just one person? Normally, at least a squad of 20 or 30 would be sent for a targeted strike.” 24 knocked 36 on the head.
“In the end, it comes down to one thing...” 1 said, “They seriously underestimated 13’s strength.”
They waited at the gate for about thirty minutes before 13 slowly walked out from inside. His black combat suit had turned dark red, and some of the blood on his armor had already clotted. He looked like a demon crawling out of hell.
“Took you so long? Getting soft, 13? That’s not like you.” 36 said sarcastically.
13 took off his helmet and smiled for the first time. “Sorry to keep you waiting. I’m still not used to planting bombs. Next time, let 1 handle it.”
13’s response caught 36 off guard, and for a moment he didn’t know what to say.
“Enough with the chatter, get in the car! We still have a second mission to complete.” 1 said, already starting the military jeep.
“13, you know, sometimes I really don’t get you.” 36 said, watching the scenery fly by outside the window.
“Is that so?” 13’s voice was soft.
“How many times were you shot?” asked 1, who was driving.
“About three hundred rounds, I didn’t really count. Most were blocked by the armor, but more than twenty hit the combat suit.” As 13 spoke, he lifted his shirt to reveal his abdomen, which was bruised in several places.
“Be more careful next time. Luckily, most of them used assault rifles, so the suit could withstand it. If they’d used large-caliber sniper rifles, you’d be dead.” 1 said reproachfully.
“Got it.” 13 replied, then leaned back and closed his eyes to rest.
Everyone knew 13 was recharging for the next mission, so they stopped talking.
After about ten minutes, 24 in the front seat saw that 13 had entered light sleep and quietly asked, “1, I want to know what 13 said to make you agree to such a dangerous request. Don’t give me that ‘he promised you something, so you promised him something’ nonsense. Does the word ‘equivalent’ even exist in your dictionary, 1?”
“Do you really want to know?” 1 smiled.
“Of course. 1, you’re the most reliable among us. I want to know why you’d do something so risky.” 36 said, leaning over the back of 1’s seat.
“Because he said to me, ‘Can you let me try approaching danger alone, quietly?’ 13, did you feel the danger?” 1 suddenly asked the “sleeping” 13.
“No...” 13 replied softly, eyes still closed.
“Really?” 1 was unconvinced. “But I’ve already fulfilled my promise to you, deliberately choosing to attack a camp with an ambush. So I don’t owe you anymore. From now on, I won’t let you be so reckless.” 1 ordered sternly.
“Understood, Captain.” 13 then added softly, “Thank you.”
Two hours later, Special Ops Team 7 returned to base. After a quick wash (actually, only 13 went to clean off the blood), they went to report to David Clark.
“Reporting! Special Ops Team 7 has successfully completed the mission. Awaiting the commander’s second order.” 1 reported loudly.
“Very good.” David Clark smiled with satisfaction. “Now, the second mission is an ambush.”
“May I ask what kind of unit we are to attack?” 1 asked.
