Chapter 13

David Reed's voice once again sounded in Brian Carter's mind: "It's nothing more than a magic tool that relies on accumulating Great Sun True Fire spiritual power to achieve its usual power. The reason the Nine Layers of Fire Tempering method was lost in the first place is simply because this method is too outdated. To put it bluntly, isn't it just using nine types of true fire to repeatedly temper? If you're not careful, the effects of the nine types of true fire will conflict with each other, causing the magic tool embryo to explode."

"In fact, if you really want to use this method to forge a magic tool, having three types of true fire interweaving is already enough to achieve the best effect. Nine layers of fire is really just overkill."

This time, however, he seemed to have gotten used to Samuel Grant being his "arrogant" brother, and his tone was calm, no longer impatient, but the disdain in his words was still obvious.

Brian Carter still felt this guy was bragging. After all, the power of the Great Sun Heavenly Fire Cannon was something he had witnessed with his own eyes, and David Reed was just talking.

David Reed seemed to sense what Brian Carter was thinking and immediately became displeased: "Hmph, kid, if you don't believe me, when you have the ability to forge magic tools in the future, I'll teach you a method called 'Three-Colored Origin Fire Heart-Tempering.' You can also forge such a clumsy thing, and then you'll understand."

The group walked past the battery, when suddenly a rapid bell rang out from the mountains: "Dang dang dang..." Samuel Grant and his junior brothers' expressions changed: "Seven rings of the life bell—something has happened in the sect!"

Before they could react, they saw a sharp beam of light shoot up from the endless mountain peaks ahead, swiftly crossing dozens of peaks from the skies above, and with a whoosh, it landed somewhere behind them.

Dozens of cultivators rushed toward that place from different directions, all looking anxious.

Samuel Grant stopped a passing cultivator and asked, "Senior brother, what happened?"

That Daoist had five sword lights fanned out behind him like a peacock's tail—clearly a set of high-quality swords with impressive attack power.

"The Nine-Tailed Dragon-Scaled Leopard in the Spirit Beast Garden has gone berserk, broke through the restriction, and has already injured seven or eight disciple guards." He finished quickly and hurried off.

Samuel Grant and his junior brothers were a bit surprised: "How did the Nine-Tailed Dragon-Scaled Leopard suddenly go mad..."

That sword light just now belonged to a senior in the sect, already a grandmaster at the Sage level. With him taking action, and so many disciples rushing over, there was naturally no need for Samuel Grant and his junior brothers to get involved.

The two of them led Brian Carter and Edward Foster on their way. Brian Carter's heart was in turmoil: Matthew Clark actually predicted it!

Counting the time, it was only a moment later than the incense stick's worth of time that Matthew Clark had mentioned.

But Matthew Clark was still puzzled: "Why was it a bit late? The timing was delayed compared to my calculations, so the efficacy of the white fruit grass must have been off. Oh, I calculated based on thousand-year-old white fruit grass, but I guess this rundown sect can't afford the thousand-year variety."

Brian Carter felt another wave of contempt.

If Matthew Clark predicted it right, then what David Reed said was probably true as well.

But who exactly were they? With just a few words, they could completely tear down all the facilities that Su Bao Mountain was so proud of!

And that third presence, Noah King, was clearly someone whom Matthew Clark and David Reed truly respected, yet he remained silent from beginning to end—why?

After a few more steps, Samuel Grant and his junior brothers suddenly stopped, turned to face the two, and showed a solemn expression.

Samuel Grant said, "Junior brother Tian, and Brian Carter, the place we're about to pass through is a sacred ground of our Su Bao Sect. You must maintain a reverent heart and absolutely must not make loud noises."

The two became serious, straightened their clothes, and followed Samuel Grant and his junior brothers forward.

The stone steps ahead led into a patch of emerald bamboo forest. After walking about ten zhang into the bamboo grove, amidst the lush green, a spiritual light suddenly appeared.

Looking ahead, it turned out that in the middle of the bamboo forest stood a giant crystal prism as tall as two people.

Inside the prism, a rough-looking giant hammer was sealed, its surface crisscrossed with battle scars. Who knows how many life-and-death battles its owner had experienced!

Within the crystal prism, faint golden formation lines could be seen, emitting a gentle spiritual glow.

Not far ahead, they saw a second crystal prism in the bamboo forest, about the same size as the first, but this one sealed an exquisitely crafted golden hairpin.

The hairpin was of ordinary size, but its surface was covered with countless tiny runes, carved as fine as strands of hair, densely packed across the entire hairpin.

Samuel Grant spoke in a reverent tone: "This is our Su Bao Mountain's famous 'Divine Weapon Grove.' Every crystal prism you see here seals a divine weapon left behind by a predecessor who attained the Dao. Any weapon that can enter here is at least of second grade or higher!"

"Each of these divine weapons represents a mighty figure who once dominated the world. After their fall, the divine weapon would automatically fly back to Su Bao Mountain and reside here in seclusion."

"Every so often, the sect organizes disciples to enter the Divine Weapon Grove to seek opportunities. If you are chosen by a relic left by a predecessor and succeed in forming a bond, it will be of great help to your future cultivation."
