At first, some of the country kids could be a bit unruly, coming to school in shabby clothes. It wasn’t a big deal if only a few showed up like that occasionally, but the problem was that these sloppily dressed fellows actually walked up to the third floor without a care, inevitably drawing attention once again.
Going to the third floor to eat was, of course, Tris's idea. As for Gaia, he certainly didn’t have the notion that his low status meant he couldn’t eat on the third floor.
The facilities on the third floor were indeed luxurious, so dazzling that Gaia's eyes went wide. He thought to himself: This isn’t a cafeteria, it’s practically heaven.
After the meal, Gaia's mind was still buzzing with excitement. He had never eaten in such a lavish place, nor had he ever tasted such delicious food. It wasn’t until his little belly was nearly bursting that Gaia finally contentedly picked at the meat stuck between his teeth with his fingers, burping nonstop.
“Let’s rest for a bit, I’m too full.” After paying the bill, the two of them planned to leave, but after just a few steps, Gaia couldn’t walk any further, still burping incessantly.
“Who told you to eat so much?” Tris looked at his adorable expression and burst out laughing. Tris was indeed a good person. He was a noble’s child himself, but from start to finish, he never looked down on Gaia, and was even happy to be friends with him.
As they were talking, a boy walked down the corridor lined with red carpet. The boy looked about eleven or twelve, but his somewhat childish face often showed an arrogant expression.
The boy in the red robe glanced at Gaia and Tris, lingering a bit longer on Gaia's shabby appearance, then fixed his gaze on Tris and forced a crooked smile: “Cousin Tris, it’s your first day at the Magic Academy, but you didn’t have to bring such a disreputable servant here to eat, did you? Isn’t this a disgrace to your Nile family?”
“He’s my friend! Abby, please show some respect when you speak.” Tris shot a glance at the boy in the red robe, frowning as he replied.
“Haha, a friend? You actually make friends like this? That’s hilarious! Or maybe, with your bastard status, you’re only fit to hang out with such lowlifes?” Abby laughed recklessly.
Gaia might not have seen much of the world, but he could still tell that the boy in the red robe was insulting Tris. That guy’s sneer was even more detestable than the scornful smiles of the nobles in the magic hall before.
Tris's face turned ashen. He hated being called a bastard more than anything, but there was nothing he could do about this boy. Not only was his family status higher, but his own strength was also far inferior. This boy had already been at the Magic Academy for two years and was an apprentice mage.
“This guy is really annoying. Tris, let me beat him up for you.” Back in the village, Gaia was a little bully, and he couldn’t stand seeing his friends get picked on. Tris's kindness had long since earned Gaia's approval, so it was only natural for him to stand up for him.
“You? Haha, don’t make me laugh. Tris, your servant is really amusing!” Abby doubled over with laughter again.
“Then let me show you what I can do.” Gaia didn’t say another word, stifled a burp, then staggered forward and swung his fist at Abby.
Abby never expected this servant would actually dare to attack him. Seeing Gaia charging at him, he quickly retreated and began chanting a magic incantation.
“Great Wind God, your devoted follower prays to you, hoping you will grant me the power of wind, wind... blade...” Abby had finished the incantation and was about to say the words “wind blade” when he suddenly felt a heavy punch land on his jaw, and the “wind blade” he was about to shout turned into “wind... sun—”
Gaia didn’t know what the guy was muttering, but seeing him standing still, he unceremoniously caught up and punched him. But just then, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach, as if the flat of a knife had struck him hard.
Gaia had already stuffed himself, and now his stomach was hit hard by something unknown. Instantly, his stomach churned, and he instinctively bent over. As soon as he did, he felt everything in his stomach surge up...
“Ugh!!!!” Gaia finally couldn’t hold it in and vomited. In an instant, yellow liquid mixed with undigested meat sprayed out... and, unsurprisingly, all of it landed on Abby's red mage robe.
Earlier, although Abby had mispronounced the last word of his magic incantation, he had still barely managed to cast the spell and released a wind blade. Since it was cast at close range, it hit Gaia's stomach without fail, and so...
Abby clutched his jaw, letting the yellow, disgusting liquid ooze down his beloved red robe. For a moment, he was completely stunned. It took him a while to snap out of it, and when he did, his pale face turned bright red, his whole body like a volcano about to erupt.
Chapter 009: Elemental Magic
“I’m going to kill you!!!!” Abby roared, forgetting all about magic, and lunged at Gaia like an enraged wild monkey.
