Chapter 10

It’s just that Henry Young understood that enjoyment comes at a price. Right now, he simply didn’t have that kind of capital, and at the moment, he couldn’t afford to indulge himself.

Soon, Henry Young arrived at a sprawling six-story building on Feng’an Avenue. Hanging above the main entrance was a horizontal plaque with three ancient-looking characters—万象阁!

On either side of the 万象阁 entrance stood six warriors wielding fine steel sabers, while the greeters were elegantly dressed, beautiful women with beaming smiles, welcoming every guest who came and went.

Henry Young walked straight into 万象阁, the greeter’s smile unchanged.

However, the eyes of the six saber-wielding warriors shifted slightly, for they saw the purple robe Henry Young wore and instantly understood his identity.

The interior of 万象楼 was vast; just on the first floor alone, there were dozens of attendants, and people from all walks of life came and went. But Henry Young had been here many times before, so nothing surprised him.

He was quite familiar with the place.

Henry Young made his way to a relatively secluded counter, behind which all kinds of books were piled high. There weren’t many people in front of the counter—clearly, few came to buy books.

“Brother Yan.” Henry Young called out with a smile.

The attendant behind the counter, who was busy organizing books, looked to be in his twenties. Hearing the voice, he looked up, and upon seeing Henry Young, he smiled and said, “The Young Brothers, you’re here later than usual today. Still picking up books for Coach Young?”

“Yeah.” Henry Young nodded. “Brother Yan, could you please wrap them up for me?”

“No trouble at all.” Brother Yates replied with a smile. “Coach Young is one of my best customers. There aren’t many people who subscribe to five-tael-a-copy books every month—just a handful in all of Donghe County.”

Henry Young smiled.

While Brother Yates chatted, his hands moved quickly. Soon, he had wrapped up the books Henry Young wanted and handed them over.

Henry Young reached out and took them.

The books weren’t thick—maybe just a few dozen pages—but the material was clearly extraordinary. On the cover were four large characters—《九州仙魔》.

Chapter Five: Not Qualified

With the books wrapped up, Henry Young left the counter.

Just as he stepped out of 万象楼—

“Hahaha, Brother Young, I knew you’d come here after leaving the martial academy.” A loud voice rang out beside Henry Young. “Good thing I’m smart and didn’t go looking for you at the academy.”

Hearing the voice, Henry Young immediately knew who it was. He turned and smiled, “Quentin York, what are you doing here?”

The newcomer was none other than the chubby youth Quentin York.

“Brother Young, give me a little face in front of Junior Sister Woods, will you?” Quentin York pretended to grimace.

“Junior Sister Woods?” Only then did Henry Young notice the green-clad young girl standing beside Quentin York. She was quite cute, but she wasn’t wearing the martial academy’s disciple uniform.

That’s why Henry Young hadn’t recognized her at first glance.

After all, with eight hundred disciples at the academy, Henry Young was only truly familiar with a few dozen.

Ordinary disciples rarely had any interaction with Henry Young.

“Come on, Junior Sister Woods.” Quentin York tugged the green-clad girl’s hand and, pointing at Henry Young, said with a smile, “This is the Brother Young I told you about from the Blazing Fire Hall—my best friend at the academy.”

“Hello, Brother Young.” The green-clad girl was a bit nervous.

Henry Young didn’t know her, but she knew Henry Young. Though she’d been at the academy for several years, this was her first time speaking to the famous Brother Young.

Henry Young nodded with a smile.

Faced with Quentin York’s friend, he naturally wouldn’t be cold.

Just then—

“Paige Woods, what are you doing here?” A voice laced with anger suddenly rang out nearby.

Henry Young, Quentin York, and Paige Woods all turned to look. A tall youth, about sixteen or seventeen, dressed in the martial academy’s black uniform, was glaring furiously at Paige Woods and Quentin York.

“Brother Zane Warren.” Paige Woods’s expression changed slightly.

Zane Warren growled, “Didn’t you say you’d be staying at the academy today? Why are you with this fatso?”

He immediately noticed that Quentin York was holding the green-clad girl’s hand.

If they weren’t close, why would they act so intimately?

“I was the one who invited Junior Sister Woods out today.” Quentin York’s smile vanished, his voice turning cold. “What, Zane Warren, do you have a problem with that?”

Zane Warren shot Quentin York a hateful look but said nothing. He turned to Paige Woods, “Paige Woods, come with me.”

As he spoke, Zane Warren reached out to grab Paige Woods.

“Hm?” Henry Young, who had been silent, frowned.

Without any hesitation, Henry Young’s right hand shot out like lightning, instantly grabbing Zane Warren’s outstretched arm. Zane Warren immediately tried to break free.

But no matter how hard he struggled, his face turning red, Henry Young’s grip was like an old tree’s roots—unyielding, holding him fast.

“Brother Young, are you trying to stop me?” Zane Warren gave up struggling, his gaze fixed on Henry Young like a predator.

He naturally recognized Henry Young.

“If Junior Sister Woods is willing to go with you, I won’t stop her.” Henry Young said calmly. “But keep your hands to yourself. We’re all fellow disciples—we see each other all the time.”

“Fine, I won’t use my hands.” Zane Warren said angrily. “Paige Woods, you decide.”

Henry Young released Zane Warren’s arm.

Paige Woods hesitated for a long moment, glanced at Quentin York, and finally said softly, “Brother Zane Warren, you should go back first.”

Zane Warren’s eyes widened in disbelief.

“Zane Warren, didn’t you hear what Junior Sister Woods said?” Quentin York snorted coldly from the side. “Why don’t you get lost already?”
