Chapter 1 Picking Up Two Wives in the Mountains (Part 1)

The azure sky, with nothing but the blazing sun and not a single cloud, was pure and flawless. Beneath this pristine sky lay a mountain covered in lush green, so vibrant it seemed the color might drip down.

Blue sky and green mountains made this land incredibly beautiful!

In this beautiful world, there was a small mountain peak. But this once-beautiful peak was now a bit pitted and uneven; from the foot to the summit, traces of shattered rock caused by monstrous force could be seen everywhere.

If ordinary people saw these marks, they would definitely think they were formed by the forces of heaven and earth—it would be hard to believe they were man-made.

On this small mountain peak, two figures intertwined, moving at lightning speed, making it impossible to see them clearly. The two figures occasionally unleashed bursts of power, shattering the hard rocks and leaving new marks.

This made it clear that these were the cause of those inhuman traces!

No one knew how much time had passed before the two figures separated, standing a short distance apart and looking at each other. Now it was clear—they were two people, two young women, both stunningly beautiful, though their faces looked a bit pale.

"Is that all you've got? Show me your ultimate move—let's settle this in one strike." Ashley Carter said, slightly out of breath. Their recent clash had nearly exhausted them; it was a critical moment.

"You're almost done for, so why keep pretending? Watch me finish you with one slash!" Grace Bennett sneered. Though she wasn't panting, she was clearly tired as well—their conditions were quite similar.

"Sword formation—Heaven-Splitting Strike!"

"Blade formation—Astonishing Cloud Slash!"

The two girls unleashed dazzling and powerful attacks with their sword and blade. This was a technique that could only be activated with true qi, not just brute strength. Normally, one would need to reach the Six Meridians to have true qi, though some might achieve it at four or five, while others might not even at eight.

Even so, at the Six Meridians level, such power shouldn't appear in a small place like this...

Sword and blade radiated brilliant light, forming two beautiful arrays in the void. From these arrays burst forth splendid brilliance, yet tinged with a terrifying aura, surging forward.

The sword and blade formations collided, evenly matched. Instantly, light shot in all directions, scattering everywhere. Wherever the scattered light touched the ground, it exploded, creating terrifying craters.

If this struck an ordinary person, it would definitely be a bloody scene!

And this was only the dispersed power—if it were the original force, who could imagine the result? This was why ordinary people revered such individuals as immortals.

The two in the duel kept attacking until their true qi was exhausted—almost at the same time, both stopped, thinking to themselves, "Another draw."

But neither seemed willing to admit defeat; neither withdrew their attack. In fact, at this point, they couldn't withdraw even if they wanted to!

As a result, both got into trouble. Without true qi to defend themselves, they were struck by the scattered light—right on their vital points, no less.

"Pfft..."

Both girls spat blood and collapsed to the ground, motionless. This outcome was clearly unexpected. With no one around to save them, they would likely die here in misfortune.

This is why duels usually have witnesses—not just to observe, but mainly to prevent such accidents. The two hadn't considered this beforehand, and yet, it happened anyway.

"Haha, who would've thought! In less than a year, you've mastered the Heaven-Splitting Strike!"

"Right back at you—you've mastered the Astonishing Cloud Slash."

"Just mastered it, couldn't control it."

"Same here!"

"Haha..."

The two girls lying on the ground laughed together. At this moment, the feeling of mutual admiration was especially strong. They were rivals, yes, but not mortal enemies. After being opponents for over a decade, they'd developed a certain respect for each other. Now, feeling close to death, that feeling was even stronger.

Though they were only twenty, they had already been famous for over ten years. They were peerless fairy and demoness of the Eastern Yue Divine Continent—one a fairy, the other a witch. This had been decided since birth.

One was the orthodox, righteous daughter of heaven; the other, the dark princess of the demonic sect!

They were born arch-enemies, both with extraordinary talent. All those so-called geniuses paled in comparison to them.
