Chapter 13

As he spoke, Ethan Sutton casually asked, “Do you have Tianyuan Fruit here?”

“What?”

The shop assistant looked a bit confused, then quickly said, “Sorry, we don’t have that here, and I don’t know about such a treasure as Tianyuan Fruit.”

Ethan Sutton didn’t mind. There were too many races, too many rare treasures—he couldn’t expect a shop assistant to know everything. It was already good enough if they knew what they were selling.

“What about Vital Energy Liquid?”

“We don’t have that either… Vital Energy Liquid is hard to store, it easily dissipates, and the storage cost is too high!” the shop assistant hurriedly explained. “Daxia Prefecture does have it. Actually, we used to sell it a few years ago, but the cost was too high and there weren’t many buyers, so we stopped stocking it.”

“Oh, then how much does it cost?”

“In Daxia Prefecture, it should be 100,000 per drop. I’m not sure if the price has changed now.”

Seeing Ethan Sutton asking about these things, the shop assistant quickly recommended, “Sir, are you looking to speed up your Kaiyuan Realm cultivation? Actually, we have many treasures and pills here that can help, like Fire Boar Blood, Kaiyuan Pills…”

Ethan Sutton rolled his eyes. I’m not a newbie.

These things are said to help, but in reality, they only speed things up a tiny bit. If your original cultivation speed is 100, they might increase it to 101.

He’d known about these options for a long time, but only a fool would spend so extravagantly on this!

Spending tens of thousands on these things would only be equivalent to gaining one extra day of cultivation in a month. Do I have so much money that I can’t spend it all?

Of course, there were definitely people who bought them—otherwise, they wouldn’t be produced, and there was a decent market. If you bought just a little, the price wasn’t too high.

Ethan Sutton didn’t ask any more questions and left with the wooden box.

He had the goods now, but whether they’d be useful was another matter.

If they weren’t, and if he hadn’t used them up, he could still sell them. Although he’d lose quite a bit in the process, he could at least recoup some of his money.

……

Downstairs in the residential complex.

Henry Brooks, who was waiting for Ethan Sutton to come down, saw Ethan Sutton returning from outside and asked curiously, “A Yu, where did you go?”

“Just went to buy something.”

“Oh, then let’s go to school…”

“Not going!”

“……”

Henry Brooks looked aggrieved. “Not going? Didn’t you say you absolutely had to go to school when I asked before? Why aren’t you going now?”

“I’m going to study at home!”

Ethan Sutton grinned and said, “You go ahead, train hard, and try to reach Kaiyuan Fourth Layer soon!”

This guy Henry Brooks was also at Kaiyuan Third Layer. He couldn’t get into the Civilization or Research Academies, and if he couldn’t get into the War Academy, he’d really have to go to the Internal Affairs Academy.

“I…”

Ethan Sutton cut him off, and after some persuasion, finally managed to send Henry Brooks on his way.

……

In the living room.

Ethan Sutton looked at the two bottles of blood, frowning in silence.

He had the blood now, but the key was—how to use it?

“Swallow it?”

“Blood from the Thousand Jun Realm shouldn’t make me explode, but I’ll definitely get hurt.”

“Wait for another dream, wait for the Iron Wing Bird to kill me? But… it only happens once every ten years or so. Am I supposed to wait another ten years?”

Ethan Sutton felt a headache coming on. He’d been excited before buying it, but now that he had it, he was hesitating.

Last night, he’d finally gotten a hint in his dream. He’d made up his mind—if nothing else worked, he’d try swallowing it. But now that it was time, Ethan Sutton was getting cold feet.

Getting hurt would be really painful.

“Or maybe apply it to my skin?”

As soon as he thought of it, Ethan Sutton decided to try. As long as he didn’t swallow it, it shouldn’t be a big problem.

Of course, you couldn’t mess around with essence blood, but ordinary blood shouldn’t be an issue.

He opened the bottle of ordinary blood, dipped his finger in, and smeared some on the back of his hand, then waited.

A few minutes later, Ethan Sutton frowned—nothing happened.

The blood was slowly evaporating!

It cost 5,000 a bottle, after all. If you drank a little at a time, even if it wasn’t essence blood, it was still somewhat beneficial for strengthening the body.

It would be too much of a waste to just let it evaporate.

“Useless…”

“Then maybe try drinking a little?”

Ethan Sutton licked the back of his hand, tasting a little, and waited again, but still nothing happened.

“Ordinary blood is useless, or… am I using it the wrong way? Or maybe I just misunderstood the whole thing?”

Ethan Sutton was getting a headache. That was tens of thousands of coins.

Was I being impulsive?

But that dream had tormented him for so long—he was desperate to solve it. If spending tens of thousands could fix it, he wouldn’t care at all.

His gaze fell on that drop of essence blood, and Ethan Sutton couldn’t make up his mind.

There was only one drop of essence blood. It was like a piece of jade—impossible to divide.

So the only way was to swallow it; applying it to the skin was useless.

“Do I really have to swallow the essence blood? I’m only at the Kaiyuan Realm. If I swallow it, even if I don’t die, I’ll suffer a huge loss of vital energy. Originally, I had no hope for Kaiyuan Fourth Layer, and if I get hurt, I might not even keep my Third Layer.”

Ethan Sutton hesitated.

Over the years, because of the nightmares, he’d actually become more steady and decisive than his peers.

He wouldn’t have considered applying to the War Academy if his father wasn’t on the battlefield.

But after so many years of nightmares, he really wanted to figure out what was going on in his dreams.

“It’s just one drop, it won’t kill me…”

“Maybe I should give it a try?”

“If I really get hurt, I just won’t apply to the War Academy. Anyway, my chances at Kaiyuan Third Layer aren’t great.”
