Chapter 6

Just as he was thinking, the door was suddenly pushed open. Olivia Walker walked in, holding a bowl in her hands, and said with a smile, “Olivia Carter, Grandpa says your body is still quite weak, as if all your strength has been drained, so you should have some porridge first to regain your energy.”

Indeed, his stomach was already empty. Olivia Carter immediately smiled and said, “Thank you, Olivia Walker!”

Olivia Walker smiled slightly. “How old are you?”

“Twenty-three.”

“Oh?” Olivia Walker grinned mischievously. “I’m twenty-four, so you have to call me Sister Olivia Walker, at least until you leave Bailing Pharmacy.”

Olivia Carter felt a headache coming on and smiled, “Alright, Sister Olivia Walker.”

“Do you need me to feed you the porridge?” Olivia Walker leaned down, smiling sweetly at him, which revealed the deep cleavage between her breasts beneath her chest wrap, making Olivia Carter feel as if he’d been struck by lightning.

“N-no, that’s not necessary.” He shook his head awkwardly, his face almost red.

Olivia Walker then placed the porridge on the desk and said, “Then take your time eating. I’m going out to pick herbs.”

“Mm, thank you, Sister Olivia Walker.”

After finishing the bowl of porridge, he had regained quite a bit of strength, but Olivia Carter still felt something was off with his body. He swung his fist a bit, and found that his current body didn’t even have its original strength. In his previous world, although Olivia Carter wasn’t a top expert, he still had some martial arts skills—he was never this weak. Something must have happened to his body. Could it be related to the death of the Seven Luminaries Demon Emperor?

Unable to figure it out, he walked out the door. A refreshing breeze greeted him, making his whole body feel invigorated.

This was the backyard of Bailing Pharmacy. The courtyard was quite spacious, with an old silver fir tree towering in the yard. Under the tree were more than a dozen tables, all covered with a dense array of herbs—leaves, roots, and more. Olivia Walker and seven other apprentice alchemists were all busy collecting the effective parts of the herbs.

Olivia Carter watched silently from the side, but was secretly amazed. There were so many types of herbs here, yet he actually recognized most of them! Eagle-eye grass, Seven-star flower, Ice-leaf grass, Hearth root, Iron-pear blossom, Sacred-heart fruit, and so on—they were all herbs from the game “Conquest.” Moreover, Olivia Carter was one of only two master artificers in Conquest, and alchemy was a branch of artificing. As he identified the herbs one by one, he realized they were all level 1 or 2 herbs!

Olivia Walker’s hands moved like butterflies, collecting the second layer of leaves from the eagle-eye grass and the plump roots of the hearth root, making it a pleasure to watch.

After a while, Olivia Walker finally noticed Olivia Carter watching from the side. She couldn’t help but smile and say, “What’s up? Do you recognize these herbs?”

Olivia Carter didn’t know how to answer, so he pointed at a bundle of grass and said, “This is ice-leaf grass, with a frigid attribute, right?”

“Huh?”

Olivia Walker opened her small mouth in surprise and looked at Olivia Carter with new eyes. She couldn’t help but smile, and even changed the way she addressed him: “Aaron Brooks, do you know other herbs too?”

“Yeah, sometimes I collect herbs to make wound medicine.”

“I see…” Olivia Walker pursed her red lips and smiled. “Actually… since you can’t remember who you are or where your hometown is, why not just stay here? Our Bailing Pharmacy may not be ranked among the hundreds of pharmacies in Silver Fir City, but at least we can support one more person. You can learn alchemy from me and help out in the shop. Grandpa is getting old and needs us youngsters to help out more. What do you think?”

Clearly, Olivia Walker wanted him to stay. And since Olivia Carter was new to this world, he naturally wanted a place to settle down, so he nodded happily and said, “If Sister Olivia Walker doesn’t mind, I’d be happy to stay!”

Actually, Olivia Carter had only been wearing his newbie outfit when he arrived, and now it was already tattered, but it couldn’t hide his heroic spirit. His eyes were clear and pure, which made Olivia Walker like him at first sight. That’s why she wanted him to stay. Now, hearing that Olivia Carter was willing to stay, Olivia Walker clapped her hands in delight and said, “I’m glad you want to stay! All of us apprentice alchemists here follow Grandpa to learn alchemy, so you have to call me Senior Sister!”

Olivia Carter couldn’t help but laugh. “How about I just call you Sister Olivia Walker?”

“Sure, whatever you like!”

Olivia Walker was overjoyed, but a young man nearby, about twenty-five years old, didn’t seem too happy. He frowned and said, “Aaron Walker, you haven’t gotten Master’s permission yet. How can you just let someone join Bailing Pharmacy?”

This man was Benjamin Harris, the eldest apprentice of Bailing Pharmacy and one of its official alchemists.

Olivia Walker was a bit displeased and said, “Senior Brother, Aaron Brooks was down on his luck in Silver Fir City, and I happened to save him. I can’t just leave him here alone. Besides, Aaron Brooks knows herbs, which means he’s fated for alchemy. I think Grandpa will definitely agree when he returns.”

Benjamin Harris snorted coldly and said, “Olivia Carter, I know Aaron Walker picked you up from the Seven Star Forest. I don’t care who you are, but if you want to join Bailing Pharmacy, you have to prove yourself. Our Bailing Pharmacy may not be a prestigious sect, but we definitely don’t support freeloaders.”

Olivia Carter forced himself to suppress his dislike for Benjamin Harris and said, “Senior Brother, do you want to test me?”

“That’s right!”
