Chapter 15

Hawkeye raised his eyebrows, dismounted, picked up a Stone Skin potion and sniffed it, his expression turning a bit strange: “Kid, you... you don’t really have a Saint Alchemist at home, do you? As far as I know, in the whole Silver Fir City, only the city lord William Brooks has the qualifications of a Saint Alchemist. You... you’re not acquainted with William Brooks, are you?”

 “No.”

Olivia Carter shook his head. “I made all the potions myself.”

At that moment, the sound of hooves approached. A young man in a white long robe rode over, his clothes adorned with the emblem of the Purple Yinflower and embroidered with many patterns—clearly a person of great wealth and status. He glanced at Olivia Carter, then at the potions, and sneered, “Since ancient times, anyone capable of refining Black Iron Tree potion essence has been at least thirty-five years old. This kid is boasting way too much—he’s obviously a charlatan. Captain Hawkeye, don’t you still need an important person to help capture the Bloodthirsty Tiger? I think he’s quite suitable!”

“Thank you for the reminder, young city lord!”

Hawkeye put away the 30 bottles of potion, a trace of murderous intent flashing across his smiling face. He said to Olivia Carter, “Although your potions are of the first and second grade, I’m not sure if their effects are as legendary as claimed. How about this: come with us. If our mission is completed successfully, I’ll pay you the promised 20 Gold Yinfir coins. How about it?”

 “Go with you? Where to?”

“To the Seven Star Forest. Our mission this time is to hunt a 3,000-year-old spirit beast—the Bloodthirsty Tiger—for the young city lord!”

Olivia Carter didn’t really understand the stakes, but Olivia Walker was shocked. She hurriedly stepped in front of Olivia Carter and said, “No... Aaron Brooks absolutely won’t go with you to hunt the Bloodthirsty Tiger. If you want to go, go yourselves!”

Hawkeye chuckled, “Oh, little beauty, are you afraid your little man will die? Don’t worry, our Flame Eagle Mercenary Group won’t let him die.”

Olivia Walker bit her silver teeth and said firmly, “No way! A 3,000-year-old Bloodthirsty Tiger has at least the strength of a level 60 Sky Lord. You... you’re only a level 42 Battle Lord, that’s a difference of two whole realms. Even with more people, you might not be able to kill the Bloodthirsty Tiger!”

Hawkeye raised his eyebrows and pointed behind him. “You’re underestimating us. See? We brought bows and arrows coated with paralysis potion, and even a large ballista. The Bloodthirsty Tiger is just a dumb beast—how could it be our match?”

As he spoke, Hawkeye reached out and grabbed Olivia Carter’s arm. “Come on, kid!”

Olivia Carter was furious. He suddenly swung his right fist, true energy gathering around him, and with a “bang” struck Hawkeye’s right arm. The dull sound startled everyone around, and Hawkeye was even more surprised, feeling a faint pain in his arm. He sneered, “Good kid, you’re a martial artist too?”

“I’m not a martial artist, don’t take me with you...” Olivia Carter was naturally afraid of dying.

“Today I’m taking you whether you like it or not!”

 “No way!”

 “Is that so?”

Hawkeye pointed and said, “One-Eyed, go grab that girl and tie her up. Let’s see if this kid is willing to come with us to catch the Bloodthirsty Tiger!”

 “Yes, Captain!”

A mercenary with one blind eye immediately stepped forward to grab Olivia Walker, but unexpectedly, Olivia Walker suddenly dropped her body, four leaf-shaped true energy forms swirling in her palm. With a clever “bang,” she struck the mercenary’s chest, making him cough up blood with a single blow.

 “Hm?”

Hawkeye was astonished. “Two-leaf Battle General? This little beauty actually has the strength of a level 19 Battle General—hahaha, interesting!”

As he spoke, Hawkeye shouted, using one hand to threaten Olivia Carter and the other to grab at Olivia Walker. His aura was overwhelming, and flames actually appeared between his palms, blazing fire wrapping around his five fingers as he reached for Olivia Walker. Olivia Walker couldn’t withstand it; with a muffled groan, the energy leaves in her palm shattered instantly, and she was caught by Hawkeye.

“Tie them up, give them a horse, and take them with us!”

Hawkeye shouted. A few minutes later, Olivia Carter’s hands were tied and he was thrown onto a horse. Olivia Walker’s hands were tied a bit more loosely and she was thrown behind Olivia Carter. A mercenary led the warhorse, and just like that, the two of them were taken out of the city. Everything happened so quickly that no one around had time to intervene.

Perhaps, no one dared to intervene—Hawkeye was notorious in Silver Fir City. Who didn’t know that?

 ...

They jolted out of the city, soon leaving the main road and entering a dense, lush forest.

Olivia Walker hugged Olivia Carter from behind, silent.

“Olivia Walker sis, I’m sorry, it’s all my fault...” Olivia Carter held back for a long time before finally apologizing.

Olivia Walker just smiled. “It’s okay, I just hope these mercenaries will let us go after they confirm the potions work...”

“Would it really be that easy?”

Olivia Carter gave a bitter smile. Although he was a year younger than Olivia Walker, he had experienced more and knew how sinister people could be. These mercenaries clearly had other plans for bringing the two of them along—he just hoped it wasn’t anything too malicious.

Behind him, Olivia Walker pressed close, her proud, full chest against Olivia Carter’s back. But he was in no mood to think about anything else now; his mind was entirely focused on how to escape.
