Chapter 8

In terms of popularity alone, there’s really no one in the academy who can compare to Black Rose.

“Pfft, what’s so great about them? One day, Bizarre Society will become the fifth largest club!” Matthew Brooks said sourly. It’s said that he got the idea to found Bizarre Society after being repeatedly rejected by Black Rose.

“Hey, hey, where are the people from Bizarre Society? This young lady wants to join!” a crisp voice rang out.

The three of John Carter turned around to see a pretty girl with short golden hair standing before them. She wasn’t tall, but her proportions were very well-balanced, and her big eyes blinked with lively energy. Mark Brooks’s mouth fell open... How could she be here?

The girl walked over with a smile. Mark Brooks spread his arms in delight, but the girl walked right past Matthew Brooks and gave John Carter a warm hug. “John Carter gege, long time no see! Do you still remember Amelia?”

John Carter awkwardly extended his arms. “Who could forget the adorable Amelia? But what brings you here?”

Off to the side, Mark Brooks tugged at Amelia’s collar in great dissatisfaction. “Little girl, look carefully, I’m your cousin—the real one!”

Amelia rolled her eyes at Mark Brooks. “Good-for-nothing Matthew Brooks, my uncle told me not to learn from you!”

At the mention of his old man, Mark Brooks immediately wilted, but suddenly remembered something. “Ah, what are you doing here?”

“Silly, I’m a new student at Tianjing Heroic Soul Academy, special admission!” Amelia proudly puffed out her barely developed little chest, looking absolutely adorable.

“Oh my god, with your 9.2 soul power growth and flame ability, you actually came here? St. Mongo City’s ranking is much higher than ours. The principal of your St. Mongo must be crying in the bathroom.” Mark Brooks laughed. This is what you call divine help—Amelia is a genius that any Heroic Soul Academy would fight tooth and nail to recruit.

Chapter 6: Black Rose

“Baron, hurry up and get Amelia a form to fill out. What did I say? Our Bizarre Society only wants elites—her 9.2 special admission just barely qualifies her to join.” Mark Brooks switched to show-off mode. Baron Grantham looked on in total admiration—the president is just too awesome. Baron’s growth is only 7, nowhere near Amelia. Generally, below 4 is poor, 6 or 7 is normal, 8 is excellent, and above 9 is genius level. Only those above 9 get a decimal-point precision test.

Mark Brooks didn’t care why Amelia came; he urged her to fill out the form quickly. With Amelia, his Bizarre Society could finally level up.

At that moment, a group of people walked toward them, led by none other than Natasha and Miriam.

Mark Brooks’s butt clenched. Normally, he’d be excited—what a great chance to interact with the goddesses—but right now, he could clearly see both of their gazes fixed on Amelia.

“Excuse me, are you Amelia? I’m the president of Bizarre Society, Natasha, and this is the vice president, Miriam.” Natasha smiled slightly and spoke unhurriedly. Her light purple long hair and innate elegance instantly commanded the scene. This was goddess aura. Mark Brooks forgot what he was about to say, his eyes glued to the goddess’s chest—those curves were simply irresistible.

“Amelia, our Black Rose Society is the best club in the academy. If you join us, you’ll get the best opportunities for improvement and make lots of friends. The Bizarre Society you want to join isn’t recognized by the student council and could be disbanded at any time.” Vice president Miriam, over 1.7 meters tall, wore black-rimmed glasses and looked very strict and serious. She was the actual manager of Black Rose, nicknamed “Mama.”

“Ahem, Vice President Miriam, that’s not quite fair. Our Bizarre Society is actually very...” Matthew Brooks wasn’t one to take things lying down and was about to argue, but suddenly remembered that Miriam was also a student council officer—his fate was in her hands.

Amelia couldn’t even be bothered to look at them. She waved her hand. “Not interested. I’ve already joined Bizarre Society.”

Miriam frowned. No one at school had ever dared talk to her like that. This little girl was pretty wild.

“John Carter, your ‘Theory of Control Combat Skills’ and ‘Runic Life Hypothesis’ are very unique. Are you interested in joining our Black Rose?” Natasha suddenly asked, seemingly unconcerned by Amelia’s rejection.

At that, Matthew Brooks’s face turned completely dark. What kind of play was this?

The surrounding students were in an uproar. Everyone knew Black Rose not only had great benefits and lots of beauties, but also the highest standards—every member was a star in their department. And now they were inviting someone like John Carter to join?

“President, I object! This guy is a disgrace to the Command Department. He’ll be transferred out soon—we can’t take him!” Miriam said mercilessly.

Some who knew, and some who didn’t, began whispering. Soon, John Carter’s situation spread. Some people suddenly understood, their eyes showing a trace of pity. Such great talent, yet he suffered from soul power dissipation—like a normal person whose muscles cramp up every time they exert themselves. “Tragic” didn’t even begin to cover it.

John Carter just smiled indifferently. “Thank you, President Natasha, but I think I’m more suited to Bizarre Society.”
