Chapter 11

With a slight, toothy smile, Henry Clark gave a thumbs-up to David Parker and said, “As expected of the number one ancient martial arts expert in our 416 school district—clean and decisive work.”

With a faint smirk, David Parker looked at the outwardly calm Henry Clark and didn’t say much. Just as Henry Clark knew him well, he, David Parker, also knew this once-dominant figure in the entire school district as well as he knew his own fingers. There was no need to think—everything was crystal clear.

If Henry Clark wasn’t absolutely confident, he would never come here to court humiliation. Now, it was just a matter of seeing him reveal his trump card and show his hand.

“How about we take this to the ground?” Henry Clark made a gesture, his body language saying “please” with elegance and a touch of classical aristocratic flair. To be fair, Henry Clark was quite the handsome guy himself. A few years ago, he was all the rage among countless schoolgirls in the district, but after being embarrassed by David Parker, he’d rarely shown off like this.

“Whatever, you think I’m afraid of you?” David Parker was very straightforward about this and didn’t care at all.

Henry Clark then waved his hand, and Eric Morgan and Michael Bolton, having received his message through the Sky Eye, quickly landed first, dragging their own teammates—those who had been injured by David Parker—to a spot out of sight.

By now, those students who had been knocked down by David Parker had more or less recovered. The regenerative ability of the bio-parasites was quite fast, and their injuries weren’t too serious. At this moment, a large crowd was already rushing out from the school district.

Seeing more and more onlookers gathering, Henry Clark actually suppressed his hesitation. He was the first to land on the ground in a very dashing manner.

Outside the 416 school district, the surroundings were all open ground. Since it was built in a remote suburb, finding a place to fight was easy.

“Today, you’re going to take down the title of number one ancient martial arts expert in the 416 school district!”

Henry Clark declared boldly to David Parker in an extremely confident tone.

“Tch! I don’t need that anyway. After I leave the district, you can have it for fun! But are you really going to repeat a year?”

Slowly landing on the ground, David Parker was utterly contemptuous of such childish provocation, and his words were full of mockery. He knew that although Henry Clark used to be the boss of the 416 school district, he wasn’t a bad person—just liked to play the hero. Their personalities simply didn’t mesh.

Henry Clark was usually proud and aloof, never bullying other students. It was only because he stood up for others that he clashed with David Parker. After a few back-and-forths, the entanglement became endless, which made David Parker quite annoyed. Curling his lip, David Parker was already extremely impatient with Henry Clark’s pointless stubbornness and tasteless competitiveness.

The number of 416 school district students watching gradually increased, and their pointing and whispering at the two about to duel—Henry Clark and David Parker—made David Parker decide to end the fight quickly.

“Let’s have a real match.”

Henry Clark casually took off the district’s standard silver-white protective jacket and tossed it to the ground, revealing a light blue shirt underneath. The close fit showed off his bulging muscles, and with his height of 1.88 meters, he looked much more impressive than the slightly thinner David Parker.

Raising his left hand and beckoning casually, David Parker didn’t even bother to speak, simply signaling that the fight could begin.

With a confident smile, Henry Clark spread his arms. In the morning sunlight, one could still see a faint golden glow shimmering on Henry Clark’s body, flowing gently. Although the golden light was faint, it was definitely there.

“Second-level fusion state—”

Instantly, the crowd erupted—

“Wow!! Henry Clark is that strong?”

“Isn’t David Parker in trouble now?”

Everyone started chattering all at once.

Although after fusing with a bio-parasite, the transition from symbiotic fusion to cellular fusion usually took three to five months to show obvious signs, the energy fluctuations on Henry Clark were clearly the most definite sign of the initial stage of second-level fusion with a bio-parasite. That meant his physical abilities had increased by at least tenfold.

Looking at the smug Henry Clark, David Parker wasn’t fazed by the situation at all. He showed an even more disdainful expression.

“High-end goods, and just fusing a month earlier—is that really so impressive?”

With this sharp comment, Henry Clark couldn’t help but lose face a little. The color of his skin changed from pale to slightly red as he retorted, “Mass-produced bio-parasites just can’t compare to the premium ones, there’s nothing wrong with that. And as for fusing a month earlier, you could have done it too—why didn’t you?”

“The difference in mindset just proves how different we are.” Henry Clark replied righteously and confidently.

“I’m not interested in being ‘in sync’ or ‘connected at heart’ with you—can you cut the crap?”

“You!? David Parker, since you want to end your embarrassment sooner, I’ll oblige you!”

Flushed with anger from David Parker’s mockery, Henry Clark figured that as long as he could vent the frustration of being suppressed by David Parker in actual combat, he wouldn’t bother arguing anymore.
